  1. Thank goodness for letting us all know. I feel better/worse now. I still do not know what any of this means.
  2. My take is that Taaffe is a 22 year old kid that is coming off a win, albeit a disappointing performance by the Horn's offense and again, questionable playcalling by Sark, and is being asked about the performance of the team and these are his raw and unrehearsed comments. I am sure that all of the responders on this site have had time to think about what they are saying and have most likely edited their responses a couple of times before hitting send. I guarantee you that all of the players know that they are not playing up to expectations. To chastise Taaffe for his comments or Arch for their body language is reading way too much into the press conference.

  9. I know a person like this. A total narcissist. I recognize this in him and I goof on him. He is so caught up in himself that he does not even recognize it. Just pouts when I intentionally change the subject. His daughter (no pics) has "daddy" issues too.
  10. I went late last week with my fiancée. It was at a downtown venue that had very little dedicated surface parking so people were parking where they could. Being that it was 80% women in attendance it was 75% female drivers. It was….it was…was…a horrible mess.

  14. The word "ideation". If I never hear that word it again it would still be too early.
  15. Not sure where this post should be. But it references "food". Please move if needed. Sometime in the late 1970s or early 80s my siblings and cousins were hunting Easter Eggs at my grandmother's house. She had a chain link fence around her yard. Someone had the bright idea to remove one of the caps on the anchor posts for the gate and hide an egg in the pipe. The problem was that, for one, who would look inside a fence posts for an egg, and two, the egg dropped too far down to be retrieved. My grandmother passed away in 1986 during my sophomore year at UT. That is the date that I am using to try to determine the timeframe. After my grandmother's passing the house was sold. I have always wondered what became of that egg. A couple of weeks ago my fiancee and I were driving through the town where my grandmother used to live and I was telling her about the egg. I told her that I wanted to drive by her old house to see if the egg was still there. Remember, I have not been to her house since the Spring of 86. We pull up to the house and I walk up to the gate and remove the cap. The egg was still in there! I was shocked. Seeing that egg in there brought back tons of memories of playing in her yard and remembering all of the aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives that have since passed. Last week my mother turned 80 and we had a celebration for her. Naturally there were relatives there that were present at the Easter Egg hunt when the egg was placed in the post. I showed them the picture of the egg and they were amazed as well. There are just a handful of us left that remember the egg. I just hope that the present homeowners never have a reason to disturb it.
  16. Merton says, “hi”
  17. I watched the program “Not So Fast, My Friend” last night about Corso on ESPN. A severe dust storm blew in unexpectedly.
  18. I often deal with international associates and customers. There are times where I adjust my schedule to accommodate their preferred time for a call. This morning I get up an extra 1-1/2 hours early for such a call. 5 minutes before the call is set to begin I get an email from them cancelling the call.
  19. I was behind an idoit this morning on my way to work that was driving below the speed limit. Vehicles were stacking up behind them anxiously trying to get to their destination. We come upon a traffic light that turns red, with all of us having the ability to stop for it, all, except for the slow driving idoit that runs it.
  20. That is me with shirts/jackets. I am a tweener with either a large or extra-large. Depends on the maker and the particular cut. I have to try everything on before purchasing. The problem is that I go to a lot of conferences/expos/etc. where the company wants us to provide our size to them so that they can custom order the "uniform" so that we all match. At issue is that there is a lack of consistency on the brand that is being sourced so I cannot with certainty provide an accurate size. There have been times where I am dressed different from others because what I was given did not fit. I am going to a conference in Peru next month where they are providing the sport coat. Who knows if it will fit or not?

  22. I saw it today. I laughed and giggled.
  23. No, it encourages bad behavior.
  24. A similar situation happened to my fiancee's dog a couple of years ago. It was a sudden event. The dog was about 12 years old and had what looked like a stroke. The event lasted just a couple of seconds but it left the dog without the ability to stand. Up to that point there was no indicators at all. Took the dog to the vet about 10:00pm. The vet said that it was a neurological event (cannot remember the term) and that they could do an exploratory surgery but could not guarantee any success. Sadly, it was universally agreed that the best option was to put the dog down.
