  1. I am currently in Chapel Hill, NC visiting my daughter, SIL, and granddaughter for Thanksgiving. My SIL invited me to play Ultimate Frisbee Wednesday afternoon. I have never played UF before but I consider myself to be a good athlete and am very competitive, so sure, I am all in. I am running around out there like a madman even breaking off covering my own guy to help with another defense. Instinctively I dove for a catch in the end zone for a score. I was fine while I was playing but my body hates me right now. Pride and age are bitter enemies to a man.
  2. My son, now 29, is a no nonsense person. While he did play some video games the bulk of his time was spent outdoors being the typical country boy. When he was about 9 years old he was left at home alone which was a common thing to do. However, this time when I came home he was in his room with his door closed playing a video game. I quietly knocked on his door. He asked who was there. My reply was another soft knock on his door. Again he asked who was there. Again, I simply knocked on the door again. All of a sudden the door flies open and he is standing in a crouched defensive position holding one of his skinning knives for field dressing a deer. I am so thankful that I had not jumped through the door to scare him otherwise he would have gutted me.
  3. The corridor of the hotel that I stayed in overnight at the Haneda Airport in Japan.
  4. I was at UT the same time that you were. One of my good buddies from high school went to aggy and joined the Corps. After they beat us my freshman year we met up right after the game. He was over the top with his obnoxiousness and would not shut up. I simply walked away. I may have spoken to him twice in the last 40 years. What a shame.
  5. Besides being an aggy, this reaction will (should) haunt him for the rest of his life. He is coming across as a complete simpleton.
  6. From the airport on my Axis Nation Tour. Been in Germany this week and now headed to Japan for next week. Unfortunately mostly business. I will be cheering from afar TEXAS!!!
  7. I-35 was a mess when I started school at UT in the Fall of 1984. Been that way ever since. I was always coming in from the North. Back then there were gaps between Georgetown, Round Rock, and Phlugerville so you could always find a work around. Parmer was way out of town back then. My daughter was a student there from 2010 to 2014 and I hated the drive in every time.
  8. I love to decorate for Christmas and had grand plans for this year. I got divorced in 2017 and I kept the house. My son and his 4 year old daughter (my granddaughter) had been staying with me while he renovated a house. He recently finished the house, got married and moved out. With the granddaughter also moving out I felt comfortable with doing a lot of decorating without fear of her playing with a lot of the decorations and messing them up. Now I find myself headed to Germany and Japan for the next two weeks. Then up to North Carolina for a week at Thanksgiving visiting my daughter, SIL, and granddaughter. Then I will be back in time to go for another business trip to Milwaukee for a week in early December. Not sure how much decorating will actually get done. On a positive I did get engaged to a wonderful woman this past week as I proposed to my girlfriend while on vacation in Sedona.
  9. I loved the monologue. The female guitarist that plays the white guitar never once cracked a smile. She was not amused. Other band members were laughing.
  10. Surly cracks me up. Complain about the dying kids segments but really get emotional about Ben’s passing. Somehow I understand.
  11. My last day in the office before I leave this Sunday for a two week business trip to Germany and Japan. Once the trip is done I cannot wait to get back to TEXAS!!!
  12. This moron parked right up by the entrance to the hotel taking up 5 spots by the door. There was plenty of room in the rest of the parking lot where others parked their trucks and trailers leaving the spots next to the building for single space parked cars/trucks. But not this idoit.
  13. I will be in Sedona this time next week. I cannot wait. Will be my third trip out there in the last 5 years or so.
  14. From my office in NE Texas enjoying my last full week of work before I go on vacation next week to Sedona. Also, my son is getting married this weekend (Sunday) so no conflict with the watching the Horns release some mutinous anger against the Commodores. FIGHT!!!
  15. The first cat pictured was a fully grown feral cat that showed up in my backyard. It took a full month before he would let me pet him. It was another month before he would come in the house. I named him Skittles (mash up of skittish and skedaddle). He never required a litter box as he would go to the door anytime that he needed poop or pee. I would let him outside while I was at work and whenever he wanted to roam. As there are other feral cats in the area he was constantly getting into major fights. He was a very affectionate cat and would sleep at the foot of the bed each night. After about 2-1/2 years he decided that he preferred to be outside all of the time and would just roam the area only coming back to eat. Being that he had a tag other eople in the area new that he was "my" cat. Come to find out some of the other neighbors were putting food outside as well for Skittles and other cats and racoons in the area. Eventually he quit coming back at all. I found that quite difficult at the time because he originally showed up soon after my divorce was final. He basically kept me company. He eventually got into a bad cat fight and the other neighbors took him to the vet to get him patched up as he was well known by many and was looked after. The vet determined that he had feline aids as well. The neighbors called me to let me know and we elected to put him down so that he would not infect others. It was a sad day. The second cat shown is my current cat. He was a stray kitten that showed up in my backyard shortly after Skittles quit showing up. He immediately came up to me and was not afraid at all. I have had him about 3 years now and his name is Scratch. He is also an inside/outside cat but is never outside while I am away. He requires a litter box. He will be outside and will come to the door to be let in to only go use the litter box and then want outside all over again. He is a straight up hunter and is always bringing me gifts (snakes, lizards, mice, etc.). Scratch is a very affectionate cat and is always wanting to be petted or held. He keeps all of his toys in either his food bowl or water bowl. It is funny watching him carry things around in his mouth like a dog does.
  16. This sucks. I have pics of 399 that took of her in a meadow in Yellowstone back in October 2020.
  17. I was around 8 years old and it was the weekend and I was staying up to watch the Late Movie that came on TV on the weekend after the local news. This particular summer night (~1974) they aired The Gargoyles. Scared me to death. To this day, some 50 years later, that is the only horror movie that I have ever seen start to finish.
  18. Head games. Wisner early drop unfortunately set the stage. The holding on the KO return did not help any either. It is between the ears now.
  19. C’mon Horns. @laxtonto has a bunch gifs to use. Don’t want his hard work to go to waste.
  20. A buddy of mine was in the CIA. He had multiple assignments that he could not tell me about. He did, however, say that he was in the polygraph division for about 3 years. He said that most people in that department burn out after about 18 months.
  21. I thought that the gall bladder was a top thing to check with women when they have health issues?
  22. I like college football. I love The University of Texas. Show me a better school. You can’t.
  23. Well, that story about Banks brought the strong feels this morning. Y’all are going to have to excuse me for a minute.
