  1. Don't analytics get skewed even more as time goes on as coaches refer to the manual? If on game 1 the manual says to do "X" 60% of the time so you do it. Game 2 rolls around and then the percentage is 65% of the time you should do "X". So you do it again. The percentage continues to grow or do enough coaches go against the manual to keep things in check?
  2. I was thinking that too. Must have at one point.
  3. Below are images of a 9th AD Lieutenant uniform (from my collection) of a soldier that also received a battlefield commission late in the War much like your father .
  4. Great photo of some tough men.
  5. I recorded this the other day. It is on my list to watch....again.
  6. This made me chuckle. RIP Hammerin Hank.
  7. Just watched Monty Python's the "Holy Grail" and the "Life of Brian". It was the first time for me to watch them in 30 years or so. I laughed out loud. Certainly not comedy for everyone but it works for me.
  8. I couldn’t get past the idea of the tank becoming such a formidable bastion of defense.
  9. I have seen this a couple of times. The hokiness is what is so endearing of these period movies. Love them all.
  10. Again, will have to google “mirror less” and “DSRL” as I don’t know what that means!!!!
  11. I travel a lot for business (username) so a lot of my picture subjects are a result of that. If I am going to a new or exciting place I usually schedule a few extra days to kick around. So far the job has taken me to 29 different countries and multiple states. I also do a lot of hiking which is another source of pics for me. Around Thanksgiving I did a 3 week loop through NM, AZ, Utah and Colorado hitting a lot of the National Parks (will be posting some pics soon). It may be a lame excuse but the availability, ease of use, and less baggage is why I do what I do for pics. I suppose if going out to take pics was my priority then for sure I would upgrade. However, I will look (Surly peer pressure!) into a DSLR. First step is to google what DSLR means.
  12. All I ever use is my iPhone. I must say that I am pleased with my efforts overall for what I do. Occasionally I wish that i did have a nice zoom feature though. Nice pic.
  13. Everyone knows it taste like chicken...or is it tuna?
  14. Saboteur (1942) Directed by Alfred Hitchcock. It stars Robert Cummins as the innocent man foiling the Cops/Feds as he chases the true saboteur (Norman Lloyd) across the US in order to catch him to prove his innocence. Along the way he hooks up with the easy-on-the-eyes Priscilla Lane. Naturally she questions him but ultimately falls in love with him. Hitchcock wanted bigger names to do this flick but none were either available or wanted to do the movie so he went with the second, third or fourth options. I really enjoy old movies despite their hokeyness, plot gaps, regarded situations, and over-the-top performances. It is hard to beat an old black and white film.
  15. White Heat (1949) with James Cagney, Edmond O'Brien and Virginia Mayo. It is a prison/gangster movie with Cagney playing the bad guy in an over-the-top fashion. Edmond is a federal agent posing as a thug to infiltrate psychopathic hoodlum Cody Jarrett's gang of thieves while in prison. A lot of these movies are ridiculous in some fashion but I always enjoy them for that.
  16. I have no personal experience in donating items to museums but I have heard of other people that have and a lot of times the items just end up in storage and never see the light of day unless there is something spectacular about them. Over time the museum then ends up selling the items.
  17. He (Bogart) was pretty much on the wrong side in many movies: King of the Underworld (1939) Dark Passage (1947) Bullets or Ballots (1936) Brother Orchid (1940) Conflict (1945)
  18. Out of curiosity I watched Call Me Kat. Will not watch again. I doubt it will be on again. It was simply, bad.
  19. I will embrace this hire as the best that I can. For the most part it is a "meh" for me but will let the other hires for the staff be the true test. I am at a point where I just want stability. Since the latest round is just now taking off I hope that we are not in this position again in 3 to 4 years. I can only spend so much time on Surly!
  20. I am in the process of watching The African Queen now between football games. First time to watch.
  21. ^^^Looks like we took a similar roadtrip. I recently (late November) took a 3-week trip through northern NM, northern AZ, southern UT and SW Colorado hitting multiple national parks. Perhaps my photo below is of the same sunset in Flagstaff?
  22. Twice now Washington has miss timed his jump
  23. Tom is an idiot.
  24. Herman should be fired right now for not playing Bijan more this year. Bijan’s success is the final nail in the coffin.
  25. ^^^^I could have gone without seeing that! Spoiler alert next time please. Can’t even quote the post.
