  1. I was pretty certain that he banged the ball off his right knee as he was going down, knocking it loose. Thankfully, his left knee was down at that moment. That's a weird helmet-to-helmet in that the defender accomplishes it with his neck while making main contact with his shoulder. Can a neck movement be considered launching?
  2. Yeah, the red zone against a really good d just exacerbates our team flaws in an iffy OL and lack of power running, and where it's too easy to defend what we're (our QB) actually good at. It seems like one attempt to bounce it outside is reasonable, but you can surely quibble with the way we went about it.
  3. Well, I'll say this. IF it is required that you be a complete screaming asshole when players don't execute, which is an an alleged attribute of successful head coaches (Saban), then his recovery philosophy is probably never going to permit him to be that guy. That's a big IF. And most of his qualities as a recovering person are going to be beneficial.
  4. Inside of four years, Sark has gotten us from 5-7 to consecutive 10+ win seasons and top five finishes. The portal helps accelerate that, but recruiting, development, and culture are still essential. And he has done this with: a) a limited QB b) a flawed OL pipeline and c) horrendous luck with injuries at RB. We're not TCU or FSU flashing in the pan with a new coach. The teams we like to compare ourselves with have been doing this for nearly a decade or more, except nemesis UW, whose QB is starting in the NFL in his first year now.
  5. I mean, we had them for the tie, then, if they didn't score again, an OT consisting of red zone plays. The game was not won, yet.
  6. Yeah, it will be interesting to see what changes with Ewers gone, regardless of any changes Sark makes. Our offense seems extra-vulnerable to execution errors. We're talented, but not all 5-stars are created equal. And we could probably use another couple of years of culture building.
  7. That has always bugged the fuck out of me about him.
  8. Well, honestly, the Ewers era is over. Thank God.
