  1. Nascar 2003. We brought our RVs, but I demanded everyone use the porta potties just across from our spot. Well it was my time to porta dump, and the wind kicked up something fierce. The potty started rockin and I got my shit together real quick and got the fuck out. One step out of the potty and I hear/feel the wind blowing it over toward me, so I fire off like an outside line backer. I get clear of it just in time. The whole bank of 4 porta potties blew over face down. Luckily no one else was in one, or they would have had the worst shit of their life. If I would have gotten slam dumped, I would have wanted to go to the hospital for a cleaning.
  2. I didn't see it mentioned, but am I the only one that recognized the Joker's voice actor?
  3. Also see my cry for help with finding a Pentair 520657 motherboard in this forum.
  4. My pool control is jacked up, and after dozens of hours of trouble shooting, it's got to be a bad board. Does anyone know a secret stash of these somewhere? Or who else to ask?
  5. The kitchen and bath sounds great. I wish I had room for a pool house. I would have a bathroom, a small laundry with stacked washer/dryer for towels, put all of the pool equipment in an enclosed space, and plenty of cushion and floaty storage. And a climate controlled TV room.
  6. Once you go black, you never go back? I looked and I can't find where Einstein predicted that. Seriously.
  7. Ryan Reynolds toned down sarcasm can be pretty entertaining. My boys and I watched it yesterday morning like a Saturday morning cartoon. I fell asleep a little bit, but I was pretty hungover. Nothing to complain about, just a quick fun movie with lots of feels. My older one said, "that was way better than Batman."

    Justified

And wow. I didn't remember this. I'm slowly rewatching and I'm in season 2. Might have to jump ahead.
  9. Wow! A Google image search for Mimi Roger tits really pays off. I had no idea.
  10. If I was watching at home instead of at the theater with family, I would have turned it off. I had no connection or interest with any character or plot. Boo. Gunfight light was cool.
  11. My parents got me this for Christmas when I was 12 and they put a nice inscription in it. It definitely influenced me. I finished my Aerospace degree, but didn't pursue it as a career. I gave the updated version to my son at 10 for Christmas, also with a nice inscription. We have had fun comparing the old vs new technologies, especially in computers.
  12. I learned that some paralyzed dudes can still fuck by watching He Won't Get Far on Foot. Something about the dick nerves getting some signal from the spinal cord below the break. I don't think they can feel it, but I guess it's fun for them to see titties bouncing again.
  13. Yes it does, and I've listened to it 3 times. It's great.
  14. My 12 year old pool is going South in numerous ways. Pool heater has broken every year, and I think I will replace the whole thing. Booster pump failed. Chlorinator failed. Main control system is messed up, but we're not sure if its the board or it lost it's programming. Pebble finish failing. Limestone deck failing in two places. If I fix everything this could hit $20k.
  15. I've listened to a lot of audio books in the past during road trips. I like thrillers and horror (Koonz). I think the key to a good gym audio book would be a fast paced story with an energetic reader. A good self-help might be good. Any other ideas?
  16. Yep. Abilene was a top 10 strike zone when I was growing up there. We had no plan for surviving a nuclear strike at ground zero. My father in law was a B1B pilot and trained for missions to fly across the Atlantic and then drop down to 500 ft altitude and mach 1.1 heaeding into Russia. Then drop his nuclear payload (be sure to close the wind shield shade so you don't go blind) and climb out of there. There would likely be nohwere to land and his family toast. He told me that he went on a misson that he thought was real, but they recalled them home about halfway and revealed it was a training mission. Also, tresspassing into the silos for fun is a thing.
  17. Here's another one. A lot of times I use this as a meditation technique. I had never told it to anyone, and then I decided to tell it to my wife. She said it was good and I should audio record it as guided meditation or hypnosis. I may get to that one day, because there are a lot of details that I imagine. But here's the gist... Imagine yourself without a body so that you could travel in space without the limitation of mass. Don't worry about propulsion. It's more like your a ghost, a raith, or a god, but not entirely omnipotent. So you are anywhere you want to be to start. Earth sounds good. So you can travel effortlessly into orbit. Then you decide to travel faster than light to check out Saturn. You get there FAST. Ok, let's look at the solar system from way above the elliptical plane. Kind of hard to see anything. How big is the galaxy?...about a hundred thousand light years I think. So I will travel 36,500,000 times the speed of light to get above the galactic elliptical plane. This looks cool. How far is the next galaxy and which way is it. There it is, you get there fast. Wait, where was the Milky Way? Shit, I'm lost. I don't have a map or universal positioning system. Fuck it, lets see how big the Universe realy is. I think it's about 14.8 billion years wide, but not sure. Ok, I'll go 14.8X10^9*365 the speed of light to see the edge of the Universe. Now here's the thought. How could you travel so far away from that there is absolutely no light? This would assume a finite Universe, which it may not be. As soon as you got away from all light and energy, what would it look like as it came into view. Also, you wouldn't know which way to look. You are in absolute darkness of all energy. It's quiet. No emails. No text. No Surly. Alone. You can rest. Good night.
  18. I do love me some perscription drugs.
  19. I really liked Moonrise Kingdom, but my boys were Scouting when it came out (or when I watched it). I thought Norton's charachter was really funny. Life Aquatic and Royal Tenenbaums are definitely my favorites, with Rushmore next.
  20. Gas prices pic probably from July 2008. Obama's first year, but no CR. I remember because I was hustling rope and harness roof claims on day rate and paying $4/gal at 13mpg. I had to pay my gound assistant out of my own day rate that was only 65% of $450. That sucked and was super dangerous. Also, working out with bears is crazy. I'd rather work out with 'da Bears.
  21. I contemplated the same as a young boy
  22. Yes it is. Even harder to find on Kawaii. It seams like everyone wants to go to bed at 9pm. I've been to the Hawaiian Islands 6 times. It's beautiful and boring. One of my least favorite things was this woman at a Luau. She was kind of in front of me, and she was using TWO phones to record a fire dancer. She got horrible recordings, missed the show, and distracted me into a hateful mood. Scuba at the Four Seasons was legit though. My scuba guide was named Blaze.
