While weight is a definite factor in obstructive sleep apnea, the physical make up of your neck and throat are also factors. I know 2 women who have sleep apnea and both are physically fit, active and definitely not overweight. At my initial exam, my sleep doc took a look at my throat and neck and pretty much told me that I had sleep apnea but needed the sleep study to find out the severity. I have a short, thick neck with a lot of tissue at the back of my throat. Last year, my sleep doc really got on my ass about losing weight and that was enough motivation to start my weight loss and exercise plan. I've lost 70 pounds in the last 16 months (325 to 255) with 20 more pounds to lose. No matter how much weight I lose, I'll always have sleep apnea because of the physical construction of my neck and throat.

I have been using a CPAP for 11 years now. I'm on my third machine and they have all been almost silent when they in operation. I have a new automatic machine that I really like and use a full face mask after initially trying a variety of different types. You machine is going to be dependent on what your insurance company is going to pay for. I had to go out of pocket for $300 for my new automatic machine. A ramp feature that gradually increases pressure over 30 to 45 minutes is pretty important. Allows you to get to sleep with a minimal amount of pressure and then ramp up to a higher pressure. Also, get a model that has a humidification chamber and heated air hose. My new machine also is able to connect with a App on my iPhone via Bluetooth that gives me a daily report of how many hours a night I use my machine and the duration of the various pressures. Investigate other medical supply companies other than what your insurance company or doctor steers you to. I'd been using the same company that was a "preferred provider" to my insurance company for years and they were sold and their service went to hell. Ended up using a smaller local company that had better pricing on my supplies and the ability to walk in and pick up my supplies and not have to pay shipping and the transition from old company to new was seamless with my insurance company. Finally, the insurance company and your doctor are going to monitor your usage. If you aren't using it, the insurance company is going to make you pay for it or return it. Older machines had a SD card that I had to take out and mail to the insurance company a couple of times a year. I also had to take the card to my annual appointment with my sleep doc to make sure I was using the machine. New machine can send the report via the App.

Anti-Tank missile? It's probably the sensor for adaptive-cruise control.

All charges have be dropped.

Actually, it was Hamilton County, Ohio (Cincinnati) that prosecuted Larry Flint. That court case is the subject of the film The People vs. Larry Flynt. The headquarters for his Hustler empire were here in Columbus up until the mid-1980's, right across the street from the Ohio State House. Flynt lived in a mansion in suburban Bexley near The Columbus School for Girls campus. As far as this being a political hit job, that might be doubtful. The mayor and 100% of city council are Democrats. The Columbus Police Chief is a lesbian.

I'm having a 12 'x 20' deck built right now at my lake house and I'm using Trex for the deck material. Deck will be completely exposed to the elements and gets full sun pretty much all day. I like the fact that the deck will be pretty low maintenance. My pressure-treated wood deck here in Ohio is partially shaded and only gets full sun in the afternoon. It needs painted every 2 or 3 years and there are always 4 or 5 boards that rot out and need to be replaced every spring. My contractor is running the floor joists on 12 inch centers as opposed to the typical 16 inch centers because I'm running the decking at a 45 degree angle. He said that this offers better support and Trex will bow or sag if not properly supported. He also pre-drills the Trex before screwing it to the joists. Using Trex as opposed to wood increased the cost by about 35%. There are a number of other Trex like products on the market that are 20-30% less expensive than Trex.

Battery-powered lighting question
Tailgate Jeff replied to Judge Roybeanbag's topic in Can You Help Me With This?
Look into Mr. Beams LED lights. They have a wide variety of both interior and exterior lights. I have 6 or 7 of their products and have been very happy with them. Lights are bright and haven't had to replace any batteries after over a year of use. www.mrbeams.com -
I’ve been using a CPAP for about 10 years and it’s definately changed my life. Don’t feel constantly tired and can stay up past 11 PM now. Takes awhile to get acclimated to using the CPAP machine, but well worth it in the long run. While weight loss and cutting back alcohol help, some people, like myself, are physically constructed (short, thick neck and soft palate) to be predisposed to sleep apnea.

Saw Jefferson Starship in Fall of 1981 at Veterans Memorial here in Columbus. Security started to aggressively remove fans from the front of the stage. Paul Kantner sees a security guard hit or kick a woman. Kantner walks to the edge of the stage and hits the security guard in the head with his guitar and knocks him out. Columbus Police arrest Kantner on stage after the 4th or 5th song. Concert is over and a riot almost breaks out. Paul Kantner charged with assault and ended up spending the night in jail before posting bail. Kantner pays off security guard and charges are dropped. This concert was also memorable as I and a crowd of a couple hundred people watched a woman give a biker dude a BJ in the parking lot before the concert.

Home Video Surveillance - Arlo, Nest, Ring, etc.
Tailgate Jeff replied to Anastasis's topic in Can You Help Me With This?
I'll cast my vote for Nest. I have 3 cameras at my main residence and 3 at our lake house. Combination of indoor and outdoor cameras. They are easy to set up and provide excellent picture quality in all lighting conditions. The drawbacks are they are expensive and the additional notification and archival services are pricey as well. -
French Pot is basically a small batch production process. Instead of making a couple hundred gallons of ice cream at a time, all the ingredients are added to a small 4 gallon bucket or pot. The ingredients are added by hand and the pot rotates inside a refrigerated base. Once the ice cream is mixed and frozen, it's hand packed into individual containers. At their production facility here in Columbus, they have 50 to 75 of these French Pots and they work 2 shifts in the Summer to keep up with the demand. My company did some renovation work for them a few years back and it's quite the operation. The Columbus facility is open to the public and you can watch the ice cream being made. Graeter's also uses a high butterfat content mix, so the ice cream is pretty rich. I don't care for it all that much as for me, it's like eating a stick of butter. The Montgomery Inn location in Dublin closed about a year ago. I ate there once and it was terrible. I ate at the Boat House location along the Ohio River years ago and remember it being a pretty good meal. Skyline chili (with or without beans) sucks. Out of town visitors are fascinated with this swill.

What was your first concert and how old were you...
Tailgate Jeff replied to BigDHornfan's topic in Music
April 1980 and saw Rush on their Permanent Waves Tour. Concert was here in Columbus at St. John arena and I was 16. -
The tires were in surprisingly good condition given the truck was stored indoors in a mild climate. I did drive it around for a few months before I purchased new tires. Blowing a tire in a 27 year old truck with ABS on the rear brakes and no airbags would not have been a lot of fun.

I bought a new Expedition last year after having a pick up for about 30 years. Decided I wanted one to haul home project materials and not destroy the interior of the new rig. I found a 1991 F-250 Lariat with 22,000 original miles. Truck is originally from the Pacific Northwest. It's 2 wheel drive, but only want to drive it in good weather. I did have to put on a new set of tires since the original ones were 27 years old.
