  1. It’s 6:30 AM on game day, and OU still sucks.
  2. Went to the Central Market near SMU earlier today to get some last-minute game supplies. My five-year-old autistic son was with me, and of course we were both wearing burnt orange. As we walked out, a 60-something man jumped into our path and screamed, “Go Aggies!!” right into my face. I simply looked at him and said, “I don’t think we are playing you today, but…sure, alright.” I will always remember the stunned/confused look on his face. I’m sure it was the same look a gnat makes after he has been casually swatted away…
  3. The fact that Patty Smyth ALMOST became the lead singer in Van Halen is still one of music’s craziest stories. And people thought the band was too different with Sammy…
  4. Driving down tomorrow from Dallas to see Tears For Fears at Moody.
  5. I watched the first half of “Silverado” last night— somehow, I’ve never seen a second of it before. Had no clue that John Cleese was in it. I feel very stupid.
  6. The Cure started their US tour in New Orleans last night and played 2 songs they haven’t done live since 1987. Can’t wait to see what they bust out in Dallas on Saturday!
  7. First movie I ever saw in a theater. I was 4. Damn theme song has been stuck in my head for the past fifty years…
  8. My wife is a Xavier grad and a huge fan. Needless to say, we need to kick their asses.
  9. On Sunday, my four year old son (who has speech development issues) came downstairs and sat on the couch with me. He handed me the remote and said, “Wanna watch football with Daddy.” Doesn’t get any better than that. And yes, we watched football— I still have last year’s TX/OU game on the DVR.
  10. Apparently Nils has tested positive now as well— Houston might be in trouble. Steve’s case was mild with only minor symptoms so maybe he’ll be back by Tuesday. If not…
  11. I was at the Dallas show. No Steve meant extra solos from Bruce and Nils, and a more central stage role for Gary. It was a spirited and fun show, and we even got the Detroit medley! Band is ridiculously tight. Probably gonna go again in Tulsa in a couple weeks.
  12. For anyone who might be curious, Hagbard is an old friend of mine—and yes, he’s just as weird in person as is he is on this website. Go Cowboys!
  13. Woody: And I'd really appreciate it if you didn't tell my Mom about this. Diane: Mum's the word, Woody. Woody: OK, I'd really appreciate it if you didn't tell my Mum about this. ------------------------------------------ Rebecca (while housesitting a killer doberman): Sheridan's in the kitchen with Satan! Sam: This is no time for folk singing! -------------------------------------------
  14. Yeah, a little googling confirms that Al Coleman hit 10 3’s (in 14 attempts) vs. KState in January of 1997. Obscure for sure but my brain remembered it somehow. Great job,LHN.
  15. I’m pretty sure that the 3 record is 10 from Al Coleman vs KState, not that any of us would know from watching the game. LHN fucking sucks.
  16. Well, my 4-year-old (who has a speech delay) started off Christmas morning by pointing to the TV and saying, “Football? Cowboys? Football?” Merry Christmas to all. Mine is already perfect.
  17. First time viewing tonight. More than lived up to the hype.
