  1. All of the AE-1 photos look soft, but it seems the worst at infinity focus. You’re using a 50 1.4, right? QC and sharpness on those was much better than the 1.8. If it was a 1.8, it could just be a crappy copy of the lens, depending on which vintage it is. My FD28 2.8 is pretty soft, so I don’t like using it. If you take the lens off, does the mirror seem to be sitting in there normally, or is it canted at all? The pressure plate was my only other suggestion but you said that seems fine. The shots are great, though. That F2, damn!

The Art Pepper really does sound incredible.
  3. Yep^. If that bulkhead doesn’t break apart, then the next weakest link is the engine/monocoque one (which happened with Grojean) and that exposes the fuel tank and ES which isn’t ideal. Going back to the input shaft discussion for a second, here it is from Mick’s crash in Jeddah.
  4. I wish we’d see more of these kind of scenes on TV.
  5. Dunno if y’all are nerdy for how stuff actually works like me, but I saw these photos of the Haas and wondered where the hell the input shaft for the gearbox was with all this suspension in the way. Turns out that it just has a long input shaft (twss) that makes its way between all of that stuff in the bellhousing area into the clutch which is mounted on the engine side like a road car. Back of engine/clutch/slave cylinder Approximate input shaft location (was ripped out/sheared in the shunt) Scarbs drawing of a 2014 Mercedes which is how all teams have the gearbox set up now. And for more fun, the labeled suspension components. Lots going on here.
  6. Double post.
  7. So, this MF is Zach Braff.
  8. Maybe, but he (O’Ward) just signed an extension thru 2025 5 days ago.
  9. You’d certainly hope so, it’s just that McLaren is a pretty close rival to them so it’s hard to see. I dunno.
  10. Agree with this, but it won’t be Piastri because Alpine won’t allow it. O’Ward or Herta I can see (if Andretti gets blue-balled with their entry). If if none of those I could see Gasly, even.
  11. Man, so happy for Marcus. He earned that one. Ganassi was absolutely on it.
  12. It would help if they would even investigate them.
  13. I guess the Alonso crash would have probably red flagged it anyway, but damnit.
  14. Man, that RB suspension is just so much more compliant than everyone else (though Ferrari is close). It’s awesome.
  15. Damn, Gasly got boned.
  16. There is a ton of track evo going on.
  17. Yeah, an OR plus a 2.5” damper setup from KING/Fox/ICON/Radflo/OME/Toytec will be just as good or better.
  18. Never seen a quick heave spring change like they did on Lewis’ car there. That was cool.
  19. They definitely still have Monaco-specific parts, though I am wondering if they still will with the budget cap. At minimum there will still be a Monaco-specific steering rack. The POU suspension geometry that is now not allowed made for some cool stuff in recent years, too. This is cool
  20. Came here to post this. Hell yeah.
  21. Btw, @G650, seems we were right on the “testing stuff out” theory. https://web.archive.org/web/20220520084512/https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/formula-one/ross-brawn-lewis-hamilton-formula-1-b1000464.html
  22. Albert’s little tech videos with Rosanna are great.
  23. I do lean somewhat towards utee’s opinion, however, getting rid of the formula and making it Formula 0 would just lead to even less parity, because one team would likely just dominate even more. You do still need guardrails.
  24. Both new Canon RF APS C models have animal eye AF, which is pretty great.
