  1. Not 8-10 seconds, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see 3-5. The field spread only gets closer as regulations mature and stay the same.
  2. FP1/2 does air for every race on one of the ESPN channels, FWIW. YouTube TV records it all no matter the channel, which is nice.
  3. Fun fact, McLaren tested it and was 2 seconds faster than with the Cosworth it had normally. Ron Dennis chose the Peugeot V10 in the end (gross) for the MP4/9 because the Lamborghini was just too unreliable. The car is was just little longer than a standard MP4/8.
  4. This was one of the most unreliable F1 engines ever, and was actually designed by a Former Ferrari guy(!), but it sure did sound good.
  5. There have been 22 cars as recently as 2016. The Q rules stay they same, just more are eliminated in Q1. I *think* that it may increase Q1 time, but that was it. We don’t actually know yet if Audi intends to compete as a constructor or simply a power unit supplier, either.
  6. Ross is 97 for NS. Cam Williams is 56 for D’Ville. Omari Abor 23 for D’Ville. Denver Harris is 3 for NS.
  7. I don’t really blame him for not wanting to see Max championship shit all over his feed either, haha.
  8. He needs an assistant RD, too. Charlie had Herbie Blash for years. Masi has no one.
  9. Also, good thread by Sam Collins on the new wheels and covers, and why some teams seem to be running different specs in testing.
  10. Lol We did nothing wrong, but we're having a big old meeting to discuss how to improve all the stuff we did that there was nothing wrong with. https://www.fia.com/news/statement-fia-world-motor-sport-council
  11. Use stream east dot io for stars games. It works well, and can be airplayed if you’re into all that.
  12. Yeah, that one will get cleared up pretty quickly I bet. I have been a YTTV user since just about the beginning and mostly love it. It knows when it’s time to watch F1!
  13. Hey, it’s the precursor precursor precursor precursor to Mercedes F1!
  14. That reference is from the 2021 regs. Check the 2022 ones.
  15. It’s just time to change it up! Compounds are totally different, so it’s not really comparable. There will still be 5 dry compounds, intermediates, and wets. I hope the new inters and wets are much improved.
  16. Slight correction. The aero covers are designated as OSC (open source components), which means that their design specification and IP must be available to everyone though a common server. This is a new thing as an alternative to having a standard sourced component (SSC), which the wheels are. This means that they still build their own parts (or use their own chosen vendors), just to an open spec, and other teams can use those designs as well. If the FIA decide that they want to use the LED panels on the aero covers, those parts will become a standard sourced part. Other notable OSC components: DRS adjuster mechanism (they want to get rid of DRS hopefully anyway, so this makes sense). Drive shafts Wheel hubs Steering column Steering wheel (will become SSC in 2023) Brake calipers, master cylinder, and pads
  17. The tires themselves are the same width (305 front, 405 rear), but are 60mm taller (720mm).
  18. They are mandated for all, and the wheels AND covers are all a spec design. Same for everyone.
  19. They are still relatively low profile for a tire that has to endure what they do. Pretty similar to an LMP1 slick in profile :
  20. The aero covers for the 2022 tire/wheel combo makes them look like steelies.
  21. Chainbear is awesome but his channel name causes me great consternation. Such a weird one.
