  1. I finished it today. Yes, it was a bit dramatized, but it wasn’t as bad as I had read. DTS is kinda unique because we have the source material readily available and in recent memory, so it’s easy to remember what might be different. Compare that to something like The Last Dance. I am sure a lot of the editing (and even the recalling of stories by those involved) in it was dramatized as well, but it all happened 20-30 years ago, so it’s hard to point it out as easily. I do like that you can see a bit of some behind-the-scenes type stuff with the drivers and team ops just being themselves.
  2. I also think he doesn’t really care for the whole Netflix deal. I would probably be the same way.
  3. We do have a vinyl thread.
  4. Man, 1/8 is tough. Does the lens have IS? I’m not sure if ever expect a tack sharp photo handheld at 1/8!
  5. It looks pretty damn dark. What ISO was it taken at?
  6. There are a handful of panoramic cameras out there. The Xpan/TX-1 would be the obvious choice but it didn’t come out until 1998. Fuji GX617 was a huge medium format (really large format) beast. The Art Panorama 240 would make a huge 6x24cm negative that could produce a 4:1 pano, but it’s even larger. Those look closer to a 3:1 aspect ratio, so something like the Fuji makes sense.
  7. I have one of these. It is sweet.
  8. We still don’t know where their tokens were spent. James Allison said it would be clear in due time, and they said this on a comment on their YouTube video today..... I’m guessing they will have some new stuff for the first race.
  9. Darude Sandstorm.
  10. Yeah the livery is puke. The car looks much better like this (dark red rear excepted):
  11. There’s also an MLU version of the older model. If you do get an older one, that’s a nice feature to have to help with camera shake too. I will say though that these things are so heavy though that it is dampened when you hold it, making it pretty stable. If you just breathe out slowly and press the shutter, you’ll probably be okay down to 1/60 or so.
  12. Agree. I’ve owned a few in the past but they weren’t my first choice. Never again.
  13. That makes sense. Easy to do it in post and not have to worry about it in the field. Nothing wrong with that at all. Different means to the same end. I always forget about colored filters.
  14. Nice! And yeah, Ferrania is super high contrast defined, for sure. I will probably expose for a lighter gray when I shoot it next (somewhat limited on the in-camera meter, though). Meant to ask; are you using a CP on the sky in your shots that feature a lot of it (where it shows up very dark)?
  15. I’m waiting for this livery.
  16. I think that is awesome as hell.
  17. Mostly a livery reveal.
  18. I have a Mamiya RB67. I haven’t used it a ton cause it is pretty bulky, but it is awesome. Naija has one or two. I think a Fuji rangefinder and maybe a Mamiya RZ? I can’t remember. Looking back, I don’t have any meaningful shots with it. Pretty much all of them are test shots, to test my film backs and experiment with close focusing and exploring the camera. I brought it to Utah last year and tried some Velvia 50, but I didn’t get good results from that. Here’s a few boring photos (sorry). I missed focus on some these too, since it can be tricky on the RB, and the lenses have a ring on the front for a floating element that I sometimes forget to adjust for maximum sharpness. These can have incredibly thin DoF so you gotta be careful. I need to use the thing more. Tank.
  19. Just watched this video. Man, it is awesome.
  20. The Aston and Merc are a lot less similar looking from the front. Different focal length and perspective here, but still. They’re similar concepts, but different executions.
  21. The photography plan. Just know that it will lock you in for a year, even though it’s $9.99 a month.
  22. да здравствует Россия!
