  1. I think it's a legal play. I also think it's rotten as fuck to take away a KU TD for a veeeery marginal hold 20 yards away from the play while ignoring OU receivers holding on the edge right in front of the runner.... like, for example, just a few snaps ago.
  2. I rewound to see it. You are going to be shocked to hear this: It was nowhere close to the play, and it was a pretty soft call.
  3. Deej, sorry to hear this. You lost mobility because of a nerve injury, or because the joints were affected by fractures? I'm sure you can come up with a work-around.... either a splint that holds those fingers in extension, or a way to tether them to your long finger so they're out of your way. On your team.
  4. Very nice. Congrats on documenting all of this. The scream at the beginning of "waiting" is solid. That Daltrey fellow has got nothing on you.
  5. A lot of deaths are happening because people mix their street-bought Xanax with alcohol -- something they've done recreationally for years -- except now that black-market "Xanax" is actually fentanyl. ...the exact same reckless shit that young people have been doing for generations -- taking a bar of what they think is Xanax (or whatever) at a party... that same action is suddenly WAY more lethal.
  6. Like, say - hypothetically- the chief legal advisor in Texas had multiple felony indictments for corruption, but kept winning elections?
  7. We need “Surly Guitar Recon” t-shirts for Chad and BMF to wear to museums and conventions.
  8. link to an astros radio internet stream?
  9. Thanks for the nice review. We do a lot of string sessions. In 2021, we've probably done as many orchestral sessions as all other genres combined. We did one today. I can't take any credit for the results other than I know a lot of talented players from the string community, and I work with a great engineer. I would be happy to hook you up with arrangers, players, or whatever.
  10. Yeah, the rule exists to make wide receivers fight through the DB at line of scrimmage… instead of getting free release by just running off the field of play and then back on again. … which is exactly what happened. It was a bullshit I-saw-it-and-I-called-it-but-then-again-fuck-it-nevermind no-call that gifted OU 30+ yards of field position and possession of the ball (and ultimately 7 points).
  11. The ref on that side of the field threw his hat down during the play to signal that the receiver ran out. Then the booth reviews it and we watch the OU receiver clearly run out of bounds. Then they ruled it a catch. Instead of putting their shell-shocked punt team and defense right back on the field, they got to keep the ball, settle the team down, get 7 points, and stay in the game. It was as big a momentum swing as there could be.
  12. Hoping to get rid of these before heading to Dallas. If no takers in next few hours, I'll take 'em back to Stubhub. $750 for all three is definitely under the going price (and sadly, much less than what I paid).
  13. Bought tickets on Stubhub that I'm going to end up not using (long story... sitting with someone else). They're pretty good seats. 2nd row of the upper deck, section 123. $800 for all three (=$266). Which is less than I paid for them by about $50 each after their fees, and much less than what similar seats are going for now. I got them before last weekend's games... ticket prices have gone up since both teams won. I don't want to separate them. They're electronic tickets - obviously - but I've been on these boards since way back in the 360 days and I'm not going anywhere... and I'll send you the stub hub receipt if you'd like.
  14. Yeah, they're terrible. They've played three P5 teams, and they're barely scoring one TD per game. Colorado is probably among the very worst in football - down there with Kansas - and they squeaked out a 3-point win. The other two are middle-of-the pack, and they are 0-2. When you go into a season believing that you're elite, and you end up sub-.500, the implosion (defections, recruiting whiffs, fan revolts) is inevitable. We had one of those train wrecks in 2010, but we could at least point to that season as an anomaly, coming off a shit ton of big wins (Michigan, USC, multiple wins over both OU and Ohio State) in 04 05, 08, and 09. Their program is on thin ice, and that tenth-of-a-billion-dollars Jimbo contract is looking disastrous.
  15. Thanks for posting. I learned some things.
  16. Perfect. That’s it exactly. They owe him a tenth of a billion dollars and the rest of this decade.
  17. It may have taken a long time to get Dave's vocal performances in the studio, but they got them. Some interesting quotes from Templeman: https://www.vhnd.com/2020/05/16/ted-templeman-if-id-tried-to-put-sammy-hagar-in-van-halen-in-1977-id-have-made-the-biggest-mistake-in-rock-history/ I've heard some isolated vocals from his Vegas shows in recent years that are unbearably bad. Almost certainly some combination of 1) he is mostly deaf now, and 2) he got old (it happens) and lost the strength and control of the muscles required to hit notes. Those recent ones were a big contrast from his early vocals.... lots of them out there on youtube, and they are somewhere between really good and great:
  18. Yeah, me neither. In fact, I'd say the realistic odds of us going 2-0 vs OU and Okie State is about 20-30%. And even if we did that, we're still looking at 3 road games which -- just like Arkansas and TCU -- will be, BY FAR, their biggest home games of the year (Baylor, Iowa State, West Virginia). We're barely 1-1 in those games so far, and each one of those remaining home teams is good enough to beat a Texas team with a porous offensive line and with question marks at every level of the defense. The chance of 3-0 in those road games is probably much lower than 20%. (edit to add). Say we go .500 the next two weeks, then drop one of the road games... we'd be 9-3 and highly likely in the Big 12 championship. "Undefeated the rest of the way" is extremely unlikely, but 9-3 with a spot in the championship game... that's still a realistic outcome, and would represent a very successful year 1 under Sark. It would also make our sales pitch on signing day pretty strong.
  19. This is about the time each season where the preseason rankings are having waaaaaay too much influence. Most teams have played 5 games (over 40 percent of their games), and we have a reasonable amount of data. So... Aggies at #26? Are you serious? The team whose biggest wins are vs 2-3 New Mexico and a squeaker vs a garbage 1-4 Colorado? They haven't earned a single one of those votes (their own fans would agree). There are 19 teams in the "others receiving votes" - including the Leach team that just beat them in their building - and I'll bet almost all of them can point to better wins than Colorado and New Mexico. Texas at 23 is probably about right. Not a ton of teams above us who we can bitch about. The table is set for us to claim a top-10 ranking. Taking out their Texas losses, we've already beaten: Louisiana (4-0) Texas Tech (4-0) TCU (3-1) ... which is a decent body of work. I'm ignoring Rice. No one gets credit for beating a team full of chemical engineers and computer science majors. ... and our next two opponents are: OU (5-0) Oklahoma State (5-0) It's very unlikely we'll find ourselves at 6-1, but I refilled my flask and booked my hotel room in Dallas just in case. See you at the Cotton Bowl.
  20. Yeah, the fact that the officials were directed to make the same call on our opponent the next week, and then we haven't seen it called again for SIX YEARS... just undeniably illustrates that there are some pregame directions being given that are well outside of "call it fair and call it both ways."
  21. They're gonna be 3-3 with 6 games to play. It's very unlikely they'll beat anyone with a pulse (Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss). Prairie View is a gimme (that they should be embarrassed for scheduling). They're gonna have to go 2-0 at Mizzou and vs South Carolina at home. Not sure they can do it.
