  1. I said he had more information than anyone ON THIS THREAD. Which is true.
  2. You could go to war with that lineup right there. Gold top with P90s, black and gold custom, Pelham blue SG. Classics.
  3. Thanks for the nice review. I think the color is Daphne blue. I'll put it in my will to you.
  4. Sometimes you go out looking for a specific style or model, and sometimes a guitar just speaks to you. Around 1995, I was on my own and living pretty much hand-to-mouth. I used to drive the battered-but-faithful Honda Civic that I bought for $300 (and had to bump start for about a year until I could buy a new starter) to the nearest mom-and-pop music store, mostly just to look at tablature to classic rock songs and try to memorize as much of it as possible without the clerks reaching the point of annoyance where they'd come interrupt, "Can I *help* you with something?" One visit, I walked in, and among the 25 or so guitars on the wall was this custom-shop Strat, and I knew instantly that it was MY guitar. Up until then, the only nice guitar I owned was a Gibson, and I wasn't even necessarily looking for a Fender. Anyway, it's still mine. It's 100% original. It sounds and plays as good as ever. I still love the color combo (it also has a pretty great bird's-eye maple neck that might not show up in the photo). I've never regretted the financial stretch for a single second. Happy Straturday, you glorious enabling sons of bitches.
  5. We're missing the guy who sneered and energetically lead the "Lock her up!" chant - later named to be Trump's National Security Advisor - going to fucking prison for lying to American intelligence services about conversations with Russians.
  6. Thank you for this legal lesson. I was struggling to understand, but your last sentence brought it into focus.
  7. I cannot follow this logic. Explain to me *why* the FBI notes would have been exculpatory? I mean, every time a criminal is lying during an interview, and one law enforcement agent scribbles a note that says, "'This guy is a fucking lying liar," but the prosecutors don't later turn over a copy of that scribbled note to the defense attorney, they've committed a Brady violation?
  8. Previously (and I just posted this reminder in the Mueller thread): Here's a reading of the transcript in a sentencing hearing. Except now, Bill Barr says, "Gosh, we're just going to have to walk away from this case, because Trump's DOJ can't possibly prove what this traitor has unequivocally admitted to doing."
  9. Fucking banana republic, indeed.
  10. Here's a reading of the courtroom transcript from Flynn's sentencing hearing. It's beyond shocking, and it's worth the watch. Importantly, this federal judge had far more information about Flynn's actions than any of us commenting on this thread, and the judge was using words like "treason" and "disgust." The issue of a "perjury trap" (I don't think those words appear directly in the transcript) are directly addressed by the judge starting at 14:45. Paraphrased, "Did you actually need the FBI to explain to you that lying to the FBI is a crime?" Even in December of 2018, Flynn has rightwing media (and the White House PRESS SECRETARY!!!!!!!) claiming some deep-state mistreatment of this traitor. But when facing the judge who is sentencing him, he has to completely disavow any hint that he was treated unfairly... because it's complete fucking bullshit, and everyone in the courtroom knows it's bullshit. If it wasn't complete bullshit, then Flynn would have taken the entire case to trial (and subsequently died in prison) instead of doing what he did. And I fully expect an attack on Maddow. Yes, she editorializes with her own outrage. but most of this video is a verbatim READING OF THE COURT TRANSCRIPT. If any of you want to post a video of a conservative pundit reading the transcript from a Flynn sentencing hearing, then by all means, do so. I won't hold my breath.
  11. How about whammy bar Wednesday?
  12. Yes, that’s what was so treasonous of Flynn - the borscht. Both sides!
  13. Yeah, fair point. I couldn’t find the exact clip I was thinking of, but here he is playing Celery’s guitar.
  14. I dig this, Celery. My next electric is probably going to be something very similar to this. I'm pretty sure Nile Rogers did the great majority of his hits on his Strat (bridge pickup, direct to tape, touching an 1170-style compressor on the way in). But lately I see him playing a thinline like yours - maybe even through an amp - and it gives a bit of body and a bit of "hair" (not Uber-clean) to the funk guitars.
  15. One of the hundreds of things I learned from Ken Burns "Vietnam" was how, at the time, the country largely blamed the the Kent State students and supported the National Guard.
  16. Sure. I agree with that. But why is the “law and order” party suddenly offended by prosecutors intentionally catching criminals in a lie?
  17. Also — in regards to that author getting to “Strozk and Page” right out of the fucking gate — it occurs to me that Marcia Clark and Chris Darden also had an affair, but that didn’t make OJ less of a murderous, shitty human being.
  18. That’s an opinion piece. It’s not news. And there’s not really anything in it to support the headline. Again, why defend a guy who took half a million dollars from Turkey and decided to hide that from the agencies designed to determine who’s acting on behalf of foreign interests? Flynn knew god damn well how improper that was. Separate from that, he lied about numerous conversations with Russian agents hostile to America. Tell me again how he’s no longer a traitor or a liar?
  19. Is anyone else bothered by the extra dots on the neck? This is not Nam. There are rules.
  20. My God... a lawyer intending to catch a lying witness in another lie while under oath!!!! That has probably never fucking ever happened. Scandalous.
  21. Shocking, isn’t it? The guy hired to direct American security interests was secretly taking $$$$$ from foreign nations, and lying to our intelligence services. That such a man will be cheered back into the Republican Party tells you everything you need to know.

Nice thread. I inherited my father-in-laws C3. They’re pretty great. I was going to suggest a Nord 73-key too... just for the optimal size and for the sound library. Can’t speak to quality/feel of the keys though.
