  1. It will be interesting to see how the Lakers adjust, because outside of a brief sequence where they went to Davis 3 or 4 possessions in a row, it was hard to even tell what the fuck their offensive strategy was. Lot of standing around. Lot of floaters, off-balance drives, and low percentage shots. I'm sure they're capable of winning the series, but that was a pitiful second-round showing from a 1-seed.
  2. Wow. Spitting image.
  3. I won't talk you out of it on whichever thread you prefer.
  4. So you want us to be skeptical, except for when you present utter bullshit that makes no sense?
  5. No. It didn't.
  6. So *HOW* does the bounty story undermine withdrawal efforts? It makes NO sense to me that anyone would have believed that such a story would make Americans and their representatives want to stay in Afghanistan (or escalate).
  7. I mean, at this point, it's so completely and totally cult-like, the Republican Party shouldn't even bother to come up with a platform of beliefs for 2020, and instead, they should just make a public statement that effectively says, "We don't have beliefs. We just support Trump."
  8. You say this like it's a fact, and you've ignored requests to back up the claim. I don't want to put words in your mouth, but you seem to want to cast doubt on: 1) Russians actually did offer bounties for killing Americans, And you seem to be offering a different explanation for the "bounty" story: 2) Certain American individuals, perhaps those who Eisenhower would have identified as a "military industrial complex," made up a story about Russians offering bounties, because they thought that once this story hit the American news media, it would create public and political pressure for America to **remain** in Afghanistan. And #2 makes no fucking sense. What am I missing?
  9. Totally fucking insufferable followers. See also: Jimmy Buffet, Jesus
  10. Yeah, every forum has them, I think. I used to spend a lot of time on audio recording forums, and those would see a recurring, "What do you think is overrated?" threads, with replies that would include all the industry-standard and most coveted/expensive microphones, pre-amps, and signal processing. They got silly pretty fast. My favorite sarcastic replies in that thread were: "Sound waves moving through the air," and another person who observed, "I am only going to let Pavarotti sing directly into my earhole."
  11. Exactly my experience with one of the "Elite" line Teles with noiseless pickups. Very nice guitar. My favorite neck of any guitar I've ever owned. Sounded good. Didn't sound like a tele. I sent it back and got something else (ended up buying a used 1990 custom shop tele for about the same $$$... y'all have seen it... post 3950).
  12. I report all unsolicited texts to my carrier as spam. Even if they're campaigning for someone I'm going to vote for.
  13. That comment reminded me of this video....which, IMO, is the pinnacle of Western art and civilization.
  14. You’re the vulgarian, you fuck. Now apologize.
  15. "Baaah, that isn't music! When I was a kid, you dressed like a woman and sang about the devil. Now *that* was music."
  16. The other day, out of curiosity, I tried to find if any website was counting how many times he’s tweeted the word “unfair!” Didn’t see an answer, but I’ll bet it’s a lot.
  17. All of this may be true... but whether or not a person is self-aware - that’s not anywhere in the formula for what makes them racist, right?
  18. I appreciate your effort to judge the average person in the party in a generous benefit-of-the-doubt kind of way. That said, can we all agree that if any democratically elected leader in the free world tweeted his/her supporter repeatedly screaming “White power!” - that person would be (justly) removed from office by the end of the fucking day? But here, not only did Republicans not call him out... the entire news machinery moved right along within 36 hours. So I’d say the systemic and ongoing empowering of racists is most definitely “racist” in every sense. And as a side note, I never ever want to hear a Republican tell me that CNN and the other networks are hysterical and unfair to them.
  19. Cool story, but it would have been even cooler if you'd seen them on the elevator looking all dejected and then you and your friends just got in their faces and went "BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"
  20. I don’t know how many of you ever got to see the Tragically Hip in a nightclub, but Gord Downie was a phenomenal front man. Maybe the most visually engaging and charismatic singer I’ve seen (and I’ve seen almost everyone on this thread). Granted, I saw Jagger and Plant 20 years past their respective primes.
  21. Haha. He definitely goes way overboard comparing ever single vocal note to that moment’s chord, and then tries to tell us the writer’s intent
  22. https://timpalmer.com/ I think he has a mix room with an SSL out in Dripping Springs (?). He's done lots of guest spots on the engineering geek shows like "Pensado's Place." Seems like a super nice guy.
  23. Agreed. Mixed by Austin transplant Tim Palmer.
