  1. kxan just closed the 5pm news with a radar model that has the entire precip event east of the sabine at sunrise friday will check kxas fort worth after the 6pm news to see if they confirm
  2. yes! but the comedy value can't be measured with current technology - by default this is DT we're already in greenland thule was built in 1943: we also built the following to service the lend-lease highway in the sky: Narsarsuaq (Bluie West One): The most important base, and the command center for Greenland Operations Kangerlussuaq (Bluie West Eight): A backup runway for Narsarsuaq, and a station for search-and-rescue, radio, and weather reporting Bluie East Two: Located in East Greenland, this base was used as an alternate airfield, and for meteorology, navigation, and search-and-rescue Bluie East One (Torgilsbu): Located on the east coast Bluie East Three: Located on the east coast Bluie East Four (Ella Island): Located on the east coast Bluie East Five: Occupied by German forces in 1943, and destroyed by an American air raid The United States and the Greenland government formalized an American protectorate in 1941 to preserve the island's neutrality. The American bases and stations were codenamed under the Bluie West and Bluie East moniker. Today, Narsarsuaq and Kangerlussuaq are civilian airports that continue to be used for transatlantic flights. our incoming leader's cabinet is going to have to explain quite a bit of reality to him.... they need to start here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenland_in_World_War_II i can't wait to hear more about why he thinks this improves our global economic position
  3. not anymore! we're going global! no more obscure and unexplained symbols of freemasonry or the bavarian illuminati no eyes over pyramids no eagles, spears, arrows or mystical untraslatable latin
  4. that's hilarious we both searched to find the right .gif and posted the same one at the same time
  5. kxan live 5pm now nick bannon model changes slower arrival warmer at the surface = more rain less winter mix / ice 1 minute for the above content +++ 4 minutes for the following content follow-on story - some gal that's made every game this year! cotton bowl dude - it may be difficult to get here but it will be 72f inside! ice fell from the stadium when the superbowl was iced in! travis county commissioners were updated on the weather forecast! kids should wear coats on thursday! ercot is fine but have a plan anyway in case the grid fails! i feel like roma victa dissecting aggy idiocy
  6. kxan just showed a projected radar model of the precip that shows thursday switching from frozen winter precip to straight rain by 5pm which is fantastic - this would help the melt massively - and the radar model shows all precip east of line from centerville to tyler by 630am if this plays out as they just showed, leaving austin or houston at 9 or 10 am will work cue imma rage for what looks like it may have been a bavarian fire drill
  7. congratulations @rachelabc13 !! you caught up to where we were 48 hours ago !!
  8. So, when should you travel? The feeling here is that travel starts to deteriorate during the day Thursday. TxDot and local officials will make sure the major roadways will be fine but secondary and tertiary roads could be problematic. We can only guide you in this story. We feel Thursday night will pose more travel issues than Friday morning. Leaving our local area Friday around 9 to 10 a.m. should be enough time to get to DFW safely.

  10. we don't salt in texas we sand & the toll roads have a chem they use with sand but i have never seen salt used in texas
  11. assuming a constant airmass, the high temperature of the day will not be achieved until very late in the afternoon big issues occur when .01" of any winter precipitation that is not snow hits a road and freezes and if the accumulation is more than .1" it does not melt instantly at 33F furthermore the type of pavement also determines the melt rate finally direct sunlight also accelerates the melt which is NOT forecast for friday txdot needs to concentrate every sanding vehicle in a 200 mile radius on the frozen precip zone on i35 between waco and italy will the tower or bellmont or cdc reach out to someone a mile away in the governor's mansion to make it happen? only the shadow knows
  12. unless you are planning on turning around and driving multiple hours away from arlington, the refreeze overnight after the game won't matter go to wherever you are staying in dfw get up saturday everything is thawed out by noon drive home
  13. k sorry if i come off jumpy
  14. Purchasing the winter infrastructure for roads in the metroplex at a cost of tens of millions is not a waste of resources when our grid governance results in the rape of texans to the tune of billions of dollars a year - polar vortexes and winterization are directly connected - winterization of the grid - winterization of the roads - winterization - one topic text from up north is kxas is still sticking with 2-5" in dfw
  15. i just tried the fox7 fucktard god i want to throttle these oblivious motherfuckers
  16. there will be no sun all afternoon the precip will end around noon at sunrise friday, frozen precip will be on all roads heading to dfw from the west, southwest, south, southeast and east the vast majority of Texas fans had planned on driving in on friday "letting the 40 degree temps do their thing all afternoon" means fuckall to everyone trying to safely get to the deathstar from anywhere in the state
  17. kxas is sticking with 2-5" of snow in the metroplex the winter mix zone south of dfw and west of i35 is going to be the problem to repeat for people who are not reading or ignoring what i've posted 281 is NOT a better option than 35 281 WILL NOT have better conditions 281 WILL NOT be faster, safer or easier
  18. has cdc or bellmont commented?
  19. southwest can schedule around dal to avoid an irrop pileup and recover fairly quickly - but i haven't looked at what they are dealing with from the midwest over the weekend american at dfw? almost guaranteed multi-day melt to catch up i would avoid any air travel departing before sunday any where east of the rockies
  20. i saw that when it happened - i thought he wanted to get off camera so he could see the play that was about to snap
  21. one of these teams should troll aggy and offer to travel to pyle to play for free
