this is great news re: tillman
9 of 10 attacking nats that make the prem don't feature, disappear or get relegated where their form isn't relevant to full international valuation
the list of those that made a sustained impact is short:
dempsey
mcbride
pulisic
that's it
wegerle had 300+ 1st division / prem appearances with 90+ goals but was born and raised in south africa and came to the us to play college soccer before he became the rowdies' first pick in the last nasl draft - he absolutely does not count as his heritage made him "acceptable" and "playable" in england
john harkes was a chalk nats starter in the 90s; he had some division 1 success.... his prem career: 43 appearances, 2 goals, 3 teams, over 7 years - harkes' claim to fame was as the 3rd us player to play at wembley
lewis - another scratch nat for 6 or 7 years - 2 years at fulham with 2 goals
moore and reyna both had brief flashes in the prem.... very brief
the prem is not a place nats break through and find world-cup form - dempsey, mcbride and pulisic were all 'proven' before they moved to the prem
would love for tillman to stay at psv
