Talarico is so good at making these people look stupid, but they don't care. They have an audience of two billionaires, and don't give a single shit what ordinary Texans think
I'd LOVE to have her as a senator, but the racist dog whistles in that campaign would be ultra-gross. Especially if Paxton wins the R primary (he will).
I live close to one of these neighborhoods. The land on the other side of their runway is part of a Middle School/High School complex. When my kids were little I coached soccer and t-ball on sports fields behind the schools (the land between the schools and the runway). Any time a plane took off or landed all field activity would stop as kids and dads would stop what they were doing to watch the airplanes.
What would they do with it? Spend it on education? Rural healthcare? Clean air and water? Lulz. They would stuff it in the Rainy Day fund never to be seen again, or figure out a way to funnel it to supporters. "Was your oil company harmed by the woke agenda or AOC's green new deal? Here's $100M in compensation from the state's coffers".
Most of them aren't native Texans, so that's pretty likely. They came here to grift, so once they milk the place dry they'll be off to the next conservative promised land.
We caught the edge of the pop up storm in WilCo last night. North half of the hood got close to golf ball sized hail. We didn't get anything but rain. I wasn't home, but my son said he stood on the front porch and could hear the hail a few streets over. Crazy.
