  1. They have been very industrious so far...I wouldn't think it would be very hard to reverse engineer the missiles and start making their own. What's Washington going to say about that?
  2. Nah, he'll hand them more welfare (subsidies) to keep them happy and they'll vote R again because one day a trans kid might want to run track in their town of 100 people.
  3. Is it too late to fire him for killing that kid at Notre Dame?
  4. Most of them are probably from Texas anyway
  5. Maybe now that the first fight is over the support guys can get back to work
  6. So who won the first bout? My shit just came back on
  7. My video is okay, but no audio now video is locked up, too. Great job, Netflix
  8. If either of these guys had any power this would have been over in round 2.
  9. I've heard Bill Gravell has called dibs on that seat, but who knows.
  10. all the shit Texas Republicans have eaten to get on Trump's good side, and what did it get them?
  11. Those might have been Diwali lights. Is there a big Indian population around there?
  12. Love to hear her thoughts on their CS program. That’s the route my son is going
  13. I was hesitant at first myself, but the campus is beautiful and it might be over 50% Texas kids these days...and the tuition discounts are incredible.
  14. Rojo Jr got his Arkansas acceptance and 70% OOS tuition grant, so I think that settles it for him. He's already paid the housing deposit and starting connecting with the Razorback Fly Fishing Club guys on social media. My daughter also got accepted with a 90% grant, but she's still weighing her options.
  15. right. Republicans have been boiled down to a united base. Democrats have become everything else. It's hard to effectively serve the interests of such a broad coalition. Realistically, we should have multiple parties that govern by coalition and compromise like a parliamentary system, but that's not what the oligarchy wants, because it's much easier to play two sides against each other than 4-5 sides.
  16. I'll add, off the top of my head... Age limits for elected officials and judges. Outlaw the Hastert rule reinstate the Fairness Doctrine
  17. I have 17 year old boy/girl twins. Both have pretty active social lives, go to parties, football games, etc. They are both athletes, which I think helps because they have a kind of built in friend group. My daughter has had a steady boyfriend since the summer, and he's on the track team with her. My son dates pretty heavily, but hasn't really locked one down. He's going out of state for college, and has no interest in getting tied down. He makes fun of his buddy that's a freshman in college and still with his high school girlfriend (who is still in High School). He also does a fair amount of gaming, but it's social for him. He's been on varsity since his freshman year and as a result, almost all of his friends are in college away from home. All those kids that are now scattered from Kansas to the panhandle, to South Texas still get together a couple evenings a week and play games for a few hours. I do worry some about his weed consumption...mainly because weed is so much stronger than when we were buying 3 joints for $5 at the car wash.
  18. Lots of good points already made here, but I think this is a big part of it. We've looked down on blue collar work a while now. Boys that would be better off going into the trades instead go to some shitty directional state school or commuter college because it was the only place that would take them, then rack up a bunch of debt to get a shit degree that doesn't land them a good paying job. Then they're in an office setting surrounded by high achieving women who aren't very interested in them. I will say it seems like Gen Z is rediscovering the trades, and I'm hopeful it will be good for a lot of them. Those are mostly jobs that aren't going to get automated away and there's going to be a ton of jobs available as the boomers finally retire.
  19. I've been calling this since the midterms. I thought Texas might go the same way (still might) but Texas growth seems a bit more diverse.
