  1. Didn't see this mentioned along with Barlow not getting an offer. I don't really see these getting matched but who knows
  2. It came out earlier this week that Castle wouldn't work out for a team with an established PG. That would rule out Charlotte, Portland, Memphis, Detroit, and probably Houston. Depending on what we do at 4, I would be fine with taking Castle at 8 I guess.
  3. That's the guy that was behind the Trae Young rumors. If you look at his page he's still standing by that too. It looks like he called the Dejounte Murray trade a couple years ago before Shams Charania and has been pretending to be an insider ever since.
  4. I read that Topic returned to the bench on his own after his injury yesterday and watched the rest of the game. It'll be interesting to see what the outlook of the teams at the top of the draft will be once his physical and everything is done.
  5. Vassell is better next year and beyond, so lets say 3rd best then. Who else is better? Malaki Branham, Blake wesley, Tre Jones, Keldon Johnson? Hopefully all these mfs besides Tre Jones are off the team by this time next year regardless of what happens to cp3. And we only keep Tre as the backup pg. I don't think the corpse of Chris Paul would be one of our better players because he's so awesome. Its because our roster is complete ass.
  6. Chris Paul would start for us and instantly be our second best player, even at 39 or 40. He is also one of my least favorite players in the league but he would be great for young team like the Spurs. The prospect of having any guy on the team that could throw entry passes and lobs worth a shit to Wemby should make you at least want to consider it. We're not competing for a playoff spot next year anyway. Would you rather have old ass Chris Paul on the floor or least efficient player in the league contender Malaki Branham? Draft combine is doing measurements today. A few notable players that are on our radar Rob Dillingham 6'1" 164 lbs 6'3" wingspan Reed Sheppard 6'1.75" 6'3.25" wingspan 7.75 hand length (smallest measured so far) 42" vertical (highest vert so far this year, last year's highest was Cam Whitmore at 40) Ron Holland 6'6.5" 196 lbs 6'10.75" wingspan Dalton Knecht 6'5.25" 212 lbs 6'9" wingspan 39" vert Funny that when thinking about the reasons we should not want Trae Young, I came across Dillingham's measurements and they're almost identical to Young when he was drafted (6', 6'3" wingspan, 177 lbs). Dillingham is the better athlete but I've read that scouts are worried about him being able to add to his frame. I'm not like the Trae Young defensive parallels I'm seeing here. He's smaller than Devonte Graham too. I'm sure no one else agrees, but I would rather take Sheppard than Dillingham. I think he's a safe pick because he's one of the best shooters in the draft and understands how to defend on and off ball. He may not have the ceiling that some of these others have but he could be a role player that would complement Wemby perfectly. I'm also usually wrong about everything when it comes to the draft. We have to draft shooting. Conventional draft wisdom is usually draft best player available and figure out everything else later. Brian Wright needs to get the best player available that can actually shoot with every damn pick unless he's looking for a Zach Collins replacement. If Risacher is there at 4 I think we take him. I am not a Matas Buzelis believer- he seems like a project that you hope becomes good but right now he sucks-like he's someone the Wizards would draft and then either flames out and becomes a career backup in the Euroleague. Topic's comp is a taller Goran Dragic, which I don't hate the idea of but I have also been unimpressed with his highlights. And he sucks at shooting 3's and his shot would have to be developed.
  7. Nothing super meaningful here but there was this article about Chris Paul rumored to be interested in the Spurs and it says that the Spurs don't see Trae Young as a fit with Wemby. https://www.nbcsports.com/nba/news/rumor-chris-paul-could-end-up-with-spurs-this-summer I've been hanging onto this hoping like hell it's true. And hopefully landing the top pick makes Atlanta not want to move on from him as much.
  8. Those hats are not the equivalent of what an upside down horns hat would be. New Era released a line of hats with upside down logos for every team. The guy in that video has a regular Rangers shirt on so even though he says he's in Houston I don't think its any kind of obsession. Most probably don't get it because normally the upside down logo thing is a sign of disrespect, but it's really not. Probably worn more by dudes who aren't fans of any particular team. https://capswagusa.com/collections/upside-down-logo-hats-mlb-upside-down-logo-hats-new-era
  9. Vassell went out of the game after about 15 minutes played with groin tightness. If this is anything more than a cautious approach with him, we may see Wemby blow up a couple more times over the next week or 2. I think Vassell has moved past Keldon and will be the highest scorer, at least in PPG this year
  10. Most likely nothing. I just noticed the past few games and there's weird vibes there. Could be because Sochan sucks at running point and just seems pissy, could be nothing. More than anything, I was trying to move on from the foul or no foul debate. It does seem like Wemby camps outside the 3 point line most of the time when Sochan is running point but I think that's more a function of his lack of experience at the position.
  11. The past 2 games I've been thinking there might be something going on too. They have weird body language together, Sochan seems dismissive of him and looks him off on offense too much. It's probably nothing, he could just be having trouble adjusting to his role this year. But it's something to watch
  12. Not a ton of competitive games today except Dominican Republic vs Philippines was pretty damn good. KAT had 26 and 10 for the Dom Republic and Jordan Clarkson had 28,7,7 and 2 steals for the Philippines before he fouled out and their offense stalled. Canada looking really strong, Dillon Brooks played some damn good defense and France didn't have anyone that could slow down SGA. Germany didn't look great, Schroeder sucked but the Wagner bros and Daniel Theis played really well
  13. I've been reading for a few weeks that they want to move up and pair a PG with Wemby. Cason Wallace was mentioned as the most likely since he has the best chance of falling into lower end of the lottery compared to Anthony Black and the Thompson twins who were also mentioned.
  14. Game 3 is at 1:30 today, should be available on the NBA app again. I didn't see much of game 2 but watched most of game 1 and it seems like he had a pretty similar statline. He's going to be one of those guys that seems like he had a quiet game but then you go look and see he had 20 and 10 with at least a few blocks. He's a good passer but isn't a huge assist guy, although I expect he'll get a few more per game with the way NBA scorekeepers give assists compared to the Euroleagues. His team would probably be harder to beat if he was more assertive and took more shots, there's a few things that factor into this like being a teenager on a team of grown men not wanting to upset team chemistry, strength/conditioning limitations, and the way the game is played in Europe compared to the NBA.
  15. It does suck that we're probably losing out on the higher chances in the lottery but its more because the other teams in contention for the play in spot are so shitty (Mainly LA but also New Orleans). The Spurs got the 10th spot last year at 33-39, a .458 record. Right now with the lakers in 10th place they're 31-43, a .419 record. The 9th place team was the Warriors with a .542 record, this year its New Orleans at .427. The bottom of the west is shittier with a lot of teams outright tanking in a way that Pop just won't do.
  16. I think the hard plastic kid pools like that are usually made of of low density polyethylene which do not contain BPA, similar to to what's used for water/soda bottles. There are other chemicals used to manufacture it but it seems like its considered generally safe. Inflatable pools are made of PVC which is what you would want to avoid because of the high BPA levels. It could also be made of high density polyethylene which is considered safer than low density. The plastic type could be different from one pool to the next though. You could use grow bags in the place of the poly bags with similar results and still not be very expensive.
  17. I'm not sure Mike Woodson is going to be much better. At least he can say he was mediocre in the NBA rather than college I guess.
  18. And the knock on Beard at UALR was that he completely turned over the shitty roster that went 13-18 and brought in better players, keeping the best one, and then went 30-5?
  19. I don't think we have it in us either but I also don't think we win the play in. If the Lakers fall into the 7-10 range and LBJ and Davis come back there's no way we win. Memphis and Dallas would probably beat us. We would likely beat the Warriors and Sacramento if they're in that play in spot. This is assuming we're in the lottery after losing the play in, at least that's how I think it works.
  20. Just hope for some lottery luck at this point. Houston and OKC tanking hard as hell, Wolves and Pelicans just suck, and every team in the east that doesn't make the playoffs will have a worse record than us. After Cleveland tomorrow, upcoming games 2x against Denver and then one against Dallas, this could go to shit pretty fast. It does warm my heart to see fucking punkass bitch Fred Vanvleet and Toronto near the bottom of the east and likely not even able to make the shitty play in games.
