I watched a PBS(Or was it Nova?) documentary about the banking bailouts, several years ago (2009 maybe?) She was explaining how executives of banks/corporations would bounce back and forth between running their companies and being appointed to the committee tasked to police their industry. And how impossibly fucked up that was. (RE: Trump cabinet). Nine years ago, this was very eye opening to me, since I really didn't follow politics at that time.
She was still at Harvard teaching, when I watched it, so didn't know her or anything about her. Except she was saying things that sounded true and appeared to be on the side of the human beings, in the 'war between human beings and greedy, corporate shills'. I was pleasantly surprised to see her years later, in the senate, or house, or wherever, chewing out the bankers who got bailed out.
Honestly, I don't care if she's a democrat or republican or a man or a woman or a native american or an alien from another planet. I need to believe somebody, somewhere is willing to resist the corporate buyout of our government leaders. If she's willing to do that, I'm 100% in.
My cynical, conspiratorial mind thinks her anti-corporate corruption position will get her blackballed or assassinated, and we'll end up with yet another paid actor/mouthpiece. But, I really hope I'm wrong and she gets the chance.
