    Getting old sucks

Yea I guess that’s probably true. Best of luck to you sir.
  3. None of us gives a shit though
  4. We might want to look into diving
  5. I was surprised at how completely ape shit a huge portion of this country went after we elected a black president. I probably shouldn’t have been. IIRC, that pretty much coincided with the rise of Fox News. Which pretty much everyone in my family all of a sudden had on 24/7. I knew in the first 5 min of watching that crap it wasn’t for me. My theory is Obama made that network, because outrage is their product. And hoo boy did they tap a vein. Gonna be interesting to see how bad Kamala causes that constituency to lose their shit. 100% chance execs at Fox are rooting for her.
  6. This is awesome. Next year for me. Where did she go?
  7. End universal suffrage or the masses will vote us into socialism and then communism. Letting every idiot vote was the real issue. They outnumber us. It is just math at this point. I enjoyed reading that.
  8. If a song is in the public domain, how can you stop someone from playing it? I mean I’m sure it came off someone’s Spotify account.

    Getting old sucks

Well then you gotta tell her that. Listen, you are whipping my ass and it’s uncalled for. Ordinarily your shit would be packed by now. But I think maybe you aren’t fully aware of what you are saying or how you are saying it. So I’m going to hang around. But I’ll be ignoring your bullshit from now on. If it gets too annoying, maybe there’ll be a fuck off or two from me. I’m telling you all this so you’ll understand why this all changes from here on out. So maybe let’s try to be better partners. (This isn’t a discussion, this is you telling her how it is)

    Getting old sucks

Tell her ass to clear the brush
  11. True story. Had an AC guy completely break down at my house one time a couple years ago. Dude was talking to me inside and staggered and fell over. Got him in a chair gave him a couple Gatorades. Talked to him for a bit. Dude was completely mentally and physically stressed out. Made him lay down in the guest room for a while. Called his company and told them what was going on. Woke him up after a short nap and drove him home (not far from me). His boss came by and got his truck the next day. /csb
  12. Played for me. Very cool. The 1975 clip of Steve Martin on the Johnny Carson show that followed it was genius.
  13. Holy shit this sounds like the greatest movie ever made.
  14. Well in fairness, no one from Boulder has ever voted Republican.
  15. Re: comments up thread about not getting cocky and hoping the campaign doesn’t take their foot off the gas…. 100% agree with all that. What feels different to me about now vs 2016 is that in 2016 1) Trump was seen then as this crazy loon who just might be able to provide the reset Washington needed by a whole bunch of people at the time And 2) Hillary wasn’t really inspiring at all. A huge portion of the population had a massively negative impression of her and she didn’t do shit to fire up or inspire the ones who were meh about her. In one of the most tone deaf campaigns of all time, she completely underestimated what Trump was tapping into. Fast forward to today, and 1) Trump isn’t capturing any zeitgeist this time. As we all are aware he is really starting to sound like Charlie Brown’s teacher. His schtick is old and tired and this time he’s not seen as a unique agent of change by a bunch of people. Rather we now have a bunch of people who have figured out what he’s all about and don’t want any part of it. And 2) Kamala isn’t hated by huge swath of the population. In fact it’s her this time that seems like the breath of fresh air. Even if people don’t love all of her policies, she’s smart, seems like she tells the truth and acts with integrity and human decency, probably won’t try to overthrow the government, and has the benefit of simply not being Trump or Biden. Anything can happen and I certainly agree that the campaign shouldn’t take their foot off the gas. But in at least this one old assholes opinion, this time feels like it has some fundamental differences vs 2016.
  16. Mine turns 18 on Dec 10th. She so pissed she can’t vote. She hates Trump. But what I really want to do is take her to a Harris and a Trump rally and let her make a truly informed decision. Even if she can’t vote. Our deal has always been that I try to get her to think about both sides of the issue. Then decide how she feels about it.
  17. And a violinist. Who made a deal with devil way before Robert Johnson.
  18. Been on the road for work the last couple days. Will look at this when I get home later today. And put another entry on the long list of time I’ve unsuccessfully spent trying to figure out Willie’s sorcery on the guitar. Also, have you checked it against a tab that looks at least someone accurate? Because that’s where I would start.
  19. When do Kamala/Biden/AG start coming out with warnings to all the maga local election boards and others that plan to hold up certifications and other ways to challenge election results that fuckery is illegal, you won’t have an immunity option because you aren’t POTUS, and we will put you all in jail - if you fuck around with our election you will absolutely find out. Seems like that oughta be a clear message that’s sent. A lot. Because you absolutely know plans for fuckery are in the works.
  20. Boss vs nonboss
  21. That’s advanced ninja strategy. Sounds like you’ve run up against a worthy adversary.
  22. In the history of the overlap of television and political campaigns, has any one candidate had an entire news network so openly campaigning for them while simultaneously and even more vigorously spewing constant relentless negativity re: the opponent for free? Is that weird? Seems weird to me. And pretty fucking unAmerican.
