  1. Watching Arch’s limited tape, it’s encouraging how quickly he seems to learn from Freshman mistakes. I think by conference play he’ll have established himself as one of the best QBs in the SEC. He’ll always be a big game hunter though. Wingo will breakout next season.
  2. How does Post-Dallas Turner Pile Driver Quinn compare to guys like David Ash and Sam Ehlinger? David was big, strong, and threw frozen ropes. His personality was a lot like Quinn. Sam was perceived to be a lesser talent than a recruit like Ewers, but he spinned the ball with more velocity and was a consistent chain mover. Sam was also a locker room dog. Quinn came into that ‘22 Bama game and threw an out route to X on the opposite hash on a line. I was convinced on that play alone he’d be elite. He then threw a dime to X down the sideline. I was certain he would be a heisman finalist at some point. Then his AC Joint gets crushed. I’m pretty certain that injury still haunts him to this day mentally and physically. In Sarks offense, I think both David & Sam would have had similar results with the 20+ NFL draft picks on the ‘23/‘24 Rosters.
  3. Quinn will be one of the most controversial Longhorns to ever put on the burnt orange. Quinn would make some unbelievable throws at times. In between those throws were tons of batted balls, confusing self sacks, the most wacky whimsical turnovers, and horrid wounded duck deep shots. The velocity of his intermediate throws seemed to decrease every season at Texas. I wonder if Turner permanently fucked his AC Joint, like some lingering arthritis. Also no matter the flow of the game, the guy would just go sit on the bench with a look as if he would rather be anywhere else. That being said, he won a shit ton of games and was always a great representative of the university. You really can’t ask much more of a Longhorn athlete. I think we’re all so critical of him at QB because of the potential of the last two teams, those were legitimate championship windows. It’s hard to imagine Sam not winning a national title at Texas with the 20+ draft picks on the ‘23 and ‘24 rosters. We didn’t need a hero, just a consistent chain mover.
  4. What if we hadn’t squandered a record level of NFL prospects over the past two seasons?
  5. We all seen this outcome coming mid-season. This was a great team. It’s a shame. Quinn’s a proud Longhorn, so he’ll always be good in my book. Man did he squander some elite units though, these were real championship windows. We beat Michigan in ‘23. We suffocate a limping Notre Dame team in the National Title. We didn’t even need great, just a little consistency and some semblance of creativity. If you couldn’t manage that, at least have some energy on the sideline. All those punts tonight, and no one on offense looked pissed off.
  6. All the apologists accepting an embarrassing loss. Fuck what Vegas said. Just make a couple throws and we’re up.
  7. It’s not his fault, but Quinn needs to stop looking like a bitch. Start cussing these mfs out on the sideline.
  8. Hopefully all the disrespect motivates the team to do something they haven’t done much this season, play a complete game. Clean up the penalties. Clean up the turnovers. Special teams have to show up. It’d be nice if we connect on a couple deep shots. It’s kind of insane to expect that they’d turn it on against the best opponent they’ve played all year. That’s what I’m choosing to believe though. We can’t lose, we got to stay alive.
  9. The way Penn State lost looked so familiar. They looked like they had the better athletes. Defense looked more physical. QB just missed too many throws and allowed ND to hang around.
  10. I wish Justin Williams would hop in the portal. I’m sure he’d be able to see the field at Texas in rotation behind Hill & Lefau.
  11. I think Quinn lets his dick hang in Dallas. Even in the snow.
  12. PFF guys are saying Ohio State essentially ditched Chip Kelly’s run concepts after the Michigan game and installed a superficial version of Mike Norvells Memphis/Florida State offense on the three week layoff they had. It makes sense why Tennessee looked super unprepared against an Ohio State team that looked pedestrian running the ball all year. Good news is we seen a bunch of those concepts against ASU. It’s just hard to predict what’s coming because they could just keep adopting layers to diversify an offense that already looks dangerous.
  13. One of the most dominant performances by a Texas Longhorn WR in a post season game ever. What a fucking dog.
  14. I completed half my degree at ASU. They’re a sleeping giant. Phoenix/Scottsdale/Tempe is behind them heavily. I wouldn’t be surprised if they become a playoff regular.
  15. Yall are some pussies. Michigan ran it down their throats with some of their best players opting out. The game is in our backyard too.
  16. Quinn may have contributed to that situation, but he let his fucking nuts hang getting us out of it. It’s damn near February, we are who we are. We’ll find out if it’s enough to win a national title. I assume most of us feel like it’s not, but that’s why you play the game.
  17. Here’s the moment we all seen coming mid-season. Goodness.
  18. The defense is wearing down. Playing a dangerous amount of snaps.
  19. Or you can bitch in here if you want. It’s whatever. He’s definitely leaving the defense out to dry today.
  20. We know the guy is limited, inconsistent, and a horrendous deep ball thrower. We talk about it after every game. It is what it is at this point. The defense will have to win us a title. Get behind the guy.
  21. Niblett is such a fucking dog. Get him on the field.
  22. Bill’s been in the lab. Y’all freestyle over one of his beats in the next Surly Podcast.
  23. Round 2 should be a home game for the highest seed again. You have to incentivize those conference championships as much as you can, especially after all the injuries that occurred in CCGs this year. I’ve spent many years in Tempe/Scottsdale, that giant community would rally around a successful football program. I’d probably get to fucked up and miss the game. Imagine Penn State having to play a post season game in Idaho on blue turf, how wacky that would be.
  24. Holy Shit, is that Bill Norton?
