  1. BIL lives in Alaska and is getting this guy today.
  2. Got the six pack yesterday and installed. Looks nice. For poster above, if possible I think taking out the ballast and quick rewire for LED tubes is easier. I rewire for single side, non-shunted. Takes about 5 min.
  3. If you drive somewhere, what are you doing about bathroom breaks? I have 3 kids. I need to get everyone out of the house.
  4. I had 2 units that I already took the ballast out and desired. Ordered tubes for them. Then ordered what was listed above for the 6 foot replacement situation. I also like the added options with placement the 6 individual 4 ft fixtures offer.
  5. I just ditched the extender I’ve had for the last year for Google Nest. I was so tired of walking in my house and connecting to the EXT network, then be sitting on my couch with shitty internet because I’m still on the EXT. I’m sure there was a way to fix that, but now my whole house is on one seamless network.
  6. Those are a good option. Reevaluate my plans
  7. I have 5 tube light fixtures in my garage. Assuming they were all the same length (look same from distance) I bought 10 4ft LED tubes. I found out last night 3 of the fixtures are 6 ft. Cost for 6ft LEDs is substantially higher and they’re not as easy to find. Since removing the ballast and rewiring will cause the fixture to function differently (one side has no power), can I cut 2 ft out of the fixture and still have it work? I think I would really just make one cut and overlap.
  8. ADP is terrible. They advertise as an all in one and will let you do anything you ask. That includes blowing up your 401k because you’re non-complaint with the plan you set up. Most providers offer open architecture, meaning you have a fairly large list of funds/ETFs to choose from for the plan. Then, whatever your plan trustee puts in the plan becomes the employees’ options. Can’t have too many because you have fiduciary issues.
  9. I built a raised garden for the kids during the quarantine and now we have stuff actually growing. Bell peppers seem to attract ants. What’s the best way to handle this? Online is see cinnamon or red pepper. Any ideas welcome.
  10. I bought this about a month ago and I’ve used it twice in my backyard with the kids. Wife isn’t down, but me and 3 kids fit. It can easily sleep 4 adults. https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/coleman-rolling-meadows-6-person-dome-tent-118402486
  11. When I lived in NYC in 15 years ago the dog walking was ~25-30 a dog. When I would go out of town my dog walker would take my dog home with her and have him back at my place before I got home. There was an exec who left her job to run a dog walking biz. She was banking. And that was a long time ago. As for saving, we saved just over 2k last month and April looks to be north of 3k. I’m still going to office but wife and kids are stuck at home. Pretty excited about that.
  12. So that’s the AC2200 (RBK43). How does it differ from the AC3000(RBK50)? I cannot find an AC3000 3 pack. I think the updating issues just mentioned are a netgear thing. I updated my Nighthawk router this morning and our internet went down for a while. Had to reset it and the modem. 30 minutes later it was up like nothing had happened. I need something soon. Getting pissed with this extender and not having seem less movement (connects to extender when I pull in garage and stays that way until it loses the connection in my bedroom or I manually switch it). Plus, no love in the far side of the garage where the TV is (not that there is anything to watch these days).
  13. Reviving this. Got spartan in late Feb. I have 4 on a little over half an acre. I can’t figure they’re doing much. Should I see skeeters in the water? Should I place them in more visible paths? I’m spraying Bifen tonight (depending on future rain forecast) and ripping down my gutters.
  14. Mark Rober is doing science class live on YouTube. You can check his recordings at his page. Some fun things to think about.
  15. Take an online class. Boom! Done. (That is if the classes you took still count toward major) I left UT with 6 hours left. 9 years later it was 9 hours. Diploma makes it look like I was in college 14 years.
  16. Do you need to go Tri-Band vs dual? I need to figure out better options than what I’m doing now (netgear w/ extender - it sucks). My lot/house is long and I want Wi-Fi on the far side in my garage. Wi-Fi router isn’t currently in the office on the opposite side of the house/lot.
  17. Losers - All the sales guys that get to keep their hotel/airlines/car rental rewards. Traveling sales could look a lot different after companies see their people can still sell sitting at home. Winners - H-E-B.
  18. Thanks. I have a tank I can use.
  19. Can I use weed b gone hose end sprayer? And I should do this now and fertilize later? Here’s what I’m dealing with...
  20. Is weed and feed bad? Is it too late? Too early? I’ve been in this house 8 months. Put down pre but I’m still going to have weeds. Trying to start regular management. *in Conroe with St Augustine
  21. I’ve been looking for durable dog chews for a few months. Got a deer antler and it started off great. Gave it to her Sunday and it’s just about gone (Thursday). I also gave her a femur bone but it seems she buried it somewhere in the yard. I cannot find it anywhere. We have a Kong, she just doesn’t love it. Same with nyla bones or whatever the synthetics are. What else am I missing? I’ll stick to antlers if I can find them cheaper.
  22. Only input I have is that you cannot get a loan on your 401k for $57k. Limits are a) the greater of 10k or 50% of your vested balance or b) $50,000 - whichever is lesser. So you could potentially get $50k from your plan and you would have to come up with the other 7. You’re also replacing pre-tax money with after -tax money. If you’re in the 24% bracket, it takes $1.32 to replace each dollar withdrawn from the plan. Good luck.
