  1. So I got the Bifen and was in a rush last night to spray. I think I miscalculated and used way too much. What setting do I put my hose end sprayer on? 1 oz per gallon? I think that’s wrong. Bifen says mix in the sprayer 1 oz per gallon and that should cover 1k sq ft. Is that the same coverage I should get with my hose end sprayer going at 1oz per gallon? I have a big yard but feel like I used way too much product.
  2. Headed there Saturday for a week with the wife and kids. I haven’t had a chance to do any research about anything, but saw Yelapa this morning reading somewhere. My kids learned how to snorkel a couple nights ago in the pool, so we might try to do that somewhere. I’m not a big snorkel fan, but my wife is and it looks like my kids are going to be. Otherwise, I have no clue what we’re going to get into next week. Just hoping the weather will be nice.
  3. Nm- answered my own question
  4. Just had a tree taken out in my front yard (almost dead oak - just moved in, not sure what it died from). Ground down the stump and instead of taking those chunks, they left them. In the past, I’ve had tree guys take all that, then I’ve backfilled with dirt and then sod over top. Can I just lay sod over that? I thought I read somewhere it’s best to get it out.
  5. My kids were born at Seton and Waterloo gave me a beer and a milkshake (for baby mama). This was just 5 years ago for my last.
  6. Where are all the sex stories? My college girl friend worked at Steak and Ale during holidays and summers. All she ever talked about was how everyone was sleeping with each other. She was probably the ring leader.
  7. Her name is Joyce. Here’s another from her, “glad you or ok. I have killed 3 coral snakes year before last. one at my back door. one in my garden and one by my swing. I take my hoe with me when I go outside. had a copperhead at my front door. now I look before I open any door. they say they like the cool concrete. use moth balls around your garbage cans .they don't like the smell. snakes com out starting late April.” I need to try and meet Joyce.
  8. This was the most often posted saying. Thread has around 200 posts from about 10 different neighborhoods. Here’s one that caught my eye “I am from West Texas, we had rattle snakes. I was always scared to go down the storm Seller .during a storm. my dad would go first with a gun.and light .then my Brother and sister mother and me. would follow my dad. we lived 28 miles south of Lubbock, Texas .on a farm.”
  9. So I just saw this was posted yesterday... Followed by a bunch of idiots fighting about different sayings about how to identify a coral snake. And then whether or not a coral snake has to chew on you to release venom. Followed by many “prayers”. The guy who posted was named Scott. After a while everyone started to wonder where Scott was. He chimed in that he was at the ER. Meanwhile, people were still fighting about what kind of snake it was and recommending he seek help. Later he replied he was home safe. Said he’ll never mow without his rubber boots on again.
  10. Bought a house and have a contractor handling the remodel. We’re currently not living in the house (in our old house still). Cabinet guy goes off on his own and installs built-ins that look nothing like the picture my wife gave the contractor. Contractor says “Hey, those look nothing like the picture.” Cabinet guy tells him “I spoke to her, these are what she wants.” They weren’t. She wanted the picture. Contractor and cabinet guy get in argument. Contractor pays cabinet guy for new material and they rebuild. Some other bullshit ensues and cabinet guy walks off job. Contractor tells him that if he leaves the job he’s not getting paid. I have no knowledge of any of this, except the guy built wrong cabinets and had to redo them and that he quit. Last week my wife calls while I’m at work saying we got a certified letter in the mail. Guy is putting a lien on our house for unpaid work. Sends us the invoices. Invoices are billed to the construction company, not me. Builder says he has no grounds because his beef is with builder and not me. I haven’t written cabinet guy any checks and I have no contract with cabinet guy. Is the contractor right? tldr; cabinet guy and contractor tiff, cabinet guy putting lien on my house, contractor says don’t worry. Should I?
  11. The only thing that pisses me off is that you can only have 1 email account per login.gov account. I set my GE account up before login.gov and didn’t thing to port it over before I set my kids login.gov accounts up. My daughter got my email address. My other 2 kids got their own email addresses because I wised up. But damn. I was in a hurry and got caught... I used a secondary email when I had to port my GE over to update my passport in Dec so it wasn’t that big of a deal.
  12. Actually yes! I sent the buyer’s realtor my in-laws sellers disclosure from the sell of their house back in September. It was off market, so not an available comp, but a perfect comp to our house. With it, I sent the argument for why it was a good fit. She passed it along to the FHA lender last week. They heard back yesterday and the appraisal came up a pretty decent amount. My options were to work with this buyer or play the field and deal with what comes. We decided a bird in the hand is better and worked with the buyer. In the end, I’m happy with the deal and I’m done. My wife claims she doesn’t remember, but we’re still selling for more than she thought we would 8 months ago.
  13. Lite recap. It was awesome. I learned a lot. The people were amazing. We went to the souks too much as far as I was concerned. The first days we went we had guides and we’re pretty much left alone. The next couple times we went (and at night) we didn’t and it was a different experience. I’m glad we went without the guides to get that experience, but it got old. Food was good. Atlas Mountains were amazing. I’m a rug collector now. My wife is a terrible negotiator. My BIL got so pissed at her it was awesome. Her “mom will like that, you should buy it for her.” As he’s trying to negotiate for it “she’ll love it, just buy it.” I thought about pulling her away but it was too entertaining. Buying the rugs was an experience in its own right. Store was Dar Mejbar. I had looked it up and read about 3 rug shops and the guide took us to this one. We eventually walked out after no deal on 3 rugs. Came back an hour later. We pulled them back out, changed some out. Ended up coming together on 4. If they would serve alcohol, they would have more success. Negotiating is a sport to them. Signed the rugs and they made it home a couple days after us. If you need a guide, Youssef was our favorite and I have his info.
  14. Does anyone have an English lab? We’re starting to look at dogs now that we’re about to be in the new house. Wife doesn’t want a big dog. Her idea and mine might be different. Our last dog was big - lab/Great Pyrenees. Her head was about to my waist. She weighed around 74. But she had really long legs and actually looked really thin. I would love a clone of her. My wife is thinking smaller. She sent me a mini puppy that someone was offering the other day. My answer “that’s a mini”. I can’t do a dog that’s 13”. So English lab popped in my head. I knew someone a long time ago who had a couple. I just remember they were about knee high. Calmer than regular labs. Any help? Thoughts? I have a large yard, three kids 7/5/5 and I need a dog that will learn. In the past dogs have fallen in my lap. I keep waiting for that to happen but it’s been way too long. Thinking it might be time to take action.
  15. Soooo, appraisal just came in. Realtor called my wife and is shocked. Way under where she thought it would be and our contract. She said the comps are crazy and make no sense (there aren’t any good comps in our hood because most houses sell without going on MLS). She also said it’s so hard to appraise our hood because they don’t know the value of the demand. He priced our house under what most other houses sold for recently. She said her buyers are devastated because they know we aren’t going to take it. I spoke with her and we’re exploring another option. It’s crazy and makes no sense. He used houses that are in different neighborhoods and different school districts (worse). No one wants to live there!
  16. Thanks for asking. Guy came to appraise on Friday morning. Wife was there and tried to be really nice. He asked her a few questions about things we had done but he wouldn’t take the list we had written out. We’re expecting to hear back from them today or tomorrow. Wife doesn’t feel good about it for no reason other than she worries a lot. I think it’ll al work out in the end. After this all clears out, I might need to talk to you(Phil) about a few things.
  17. Seems like there’s a lot more to the hit on this story. Your truck ends up in the front yard and inoperable and this guy was able to drive off? He missed a turn by 30 feet? Where are the pics?
  18. All this birthday party at home business. You guys are nuts. We did it a couple times and I was done. We started having our parties at the gymnastics place. $250 for 2 hours. Boys like it just as much as girls. They provide 2 coaches and free run of the gym. We bring cake and whatever food. In and out. I think we’ve run parties there for the last 3 years. This last one was probably the last we get away with.
  19. Did you roll that on the door or brush it? Any thinner? * Looks great
  20. Thanks for the info. I spoke with the realtor and we came to an agreement. They want this deal to go through and so does the realtor. A call for the appraisal was made On Friday. It hasn’t been scheduled yet but I’m expecting to hear back Monday or Tuesday. It should be complete in a couple weeks and we’ll know then. In the mean time we’re reaching out to some other interested parties and letting them know what’s going on.
