  1. They're amassing talent on the reg. It's only a matter of time until they back into a playoff appearance. Kinda like us in 2001. One less special teams fuck up in the 2001 B12CG and we're in the MNC game.
  2. Nothing has changed. We still have a beta school with beta players managed by an average coach. Just roll with it. We have class and academics. 8-4 is totes cool. That's our new standard but it won't be met this year. There's always next year!
  3. You still bruised down there? Hahaha. Keep on internet tough guy. I mean, you should channel that anger by driving to DKR and suiting up for the team. It's means so much, right?
  4. When they play us, no. When they play anyone not Texas, yes.
  5. This is what we SHOULD do. But we won't because it's not the "Texas way". Plenty of people on this board are quite happy with 8-4 seasons, as long as Texas remains "clean" and has "class".
  6. Remember when we had standards? Such as a loss to Kansas meant immediate firing for the coach. But now? Let's just count all the money our AD raises every year. Count it now while you can because people no longer give a shit.
  7. Yes, Joe Lonsdale is expanding his presence in Austin. His team has several projects in the works. For example, LIT (https://www.lonsdaleinvest.com/) is in progress and will more than likely succeed. I know several key people involved. Needless to say, it will be LIT.
  8. Because our school is beta. And some of you *still* think we have a roster of 4/5* pipe hitting ballers. LOLOLOL. We're a looooooooong way from that.
  9. With a 45-yard field goal that hits the left upright and falls true as the clock hits 0:00 in the 4th.
  10. Yup. Just a matter of time. Stockpiling talent will do that for you.
  11. https://247sports.com/Article/Texas-AM-recruiting-Walter-Nolen-commits-Jimbo-Fisher-Aggies-top-class-174632302/ "With Nolen in the fold, Texas A&M's 2022 class rose three spots to No. 8 nationally. Moments later, Chris Marshall — the No. 4 receiver in 2022 — committed to Texas A&M as well, boosting the Aggies up again, to No. 6. Jimbo Fisher and his staff are in strong position to finish with a fourth straight Top 10 class and have more ammo to make a run at No. 1, breaking up the monopolized grip that Alabama (nine times) and Georgia (twice) have controlled on the the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings the last 11 years." "The reason why Texas A&M is in on all of those names is the same reason they beat out Tennessee, Florida and several others for the 6-foot-4, 325-pound Nolen: Relentless recruiting." $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Again, we aren't committed to winning.
  12. You mean beating them at football? Just checking.
  13. We're the overweight, middle-aged wealthy dude who made tons of money in tech, but can't even score a curvy chola at the bar. So we over-compensate with shit that doesn't matter to chicks. We're one of the best public universities--a public ivy, I tell ya;
  14. The top 4-8 teams always stockpile the true raw talent. Everyone else fights for top- to mid- level 4 stars with the occasional 5 star mixed in. I think the 9.95 crowd does its best to over-hype our players. And when our decent 4 stars receive over-inflated rankings, they don't have the talent or mindset to back it up. Then when faced with adversity, they turtle up.
  15. Well that depends on how we define "talent", right? I won't define talent based on some 9.95er's rankings. They've lied to us. And they always do. Our roster is limited.
  16. I don't know who we'd hire. But I sure as hell can tell you who won't be hired: a winning coach. Why? Because Texas always finds a way to mind-fuck itself into the wrong hire. We passed on Harsin, Aranda, and others. I read numerous reason why they just weren't a "good fit". They seem to be doing ok these days, don't you think? And look at what we actually hired. It's like we let a room full of dipshit consultants set up a fucking RACI in Excel with 28 tabs of BS for us to review before deciding who to call for interviews. Yeah, we'd just fuck it up again.
  17. Yup. When I see long, flowing blonde hard underneath a Texas Longhorn football helmet.....I mean, I could be wrong....I could be totally wrong....but TOUGH isn't the first thing that pops in my head.
  18. Can't. We're Texas. We'll claim academic superiority over the secsecsec knuckle draggers to make ourselves feel better. This school has not been serious about winning since 2009/2010.
  19. BS. Our roster sucks. We have very little talent on this team. We don't have the supposed 5/4 *s we think we do.
  20. This is true. I hired a few East Coast devs for large internal IT projects. Six devs lacked formal college education. But they made open source contributions (code merged to master) and built fairly complex "web apps" in middle/high school. Two of my long-time hires are from Costa Rica--with no formal college either. However they can customize the Linux kernel for client projects and complete other system-level requirements without issue.
