  1. Why don’t you just keep a fuzzy blankie in the glove compartment? Always there when the wife is driving home and it gets too chilly for you. Conflict avoided.
  2. What’s Uncle Gary’s surly handle?
  3. Also of note- Ivan is up to 21 bombs through 42 games played. Team is guaranteed at least 16 more games (12 regular season, = >2 Big 12 Tournament, = >2 NCAA Tournament). At current pace, that gets him to at least 29 bombs, passing Kyle Russell's school record of 28 in 2007.
  4. Seeing our walk rate in line with those staffs was most surprising thing to me as well. It's just felt so much worse. Makes you wonder how much of the pitching woes have been bad luck / attributable to environmental factors that I won't try to isolate or quantify (competition level, ballpark factors, weather, etc). When I see that we are striking hitters out at a pace higher than before & giving up hits in line with past staffs, that doesn't tell me that we lack the stuff / are more hittable. Can't ignore that our offense is also leaving the yard at a clip almost 2x as high as last two CWS squads... maybe some of those environmental factors have made the staff feel worse than they really are. At any rate, these metrics still suggest this team is capable of getting to the show. Still hard for me to square that with some of the bad losses as of late but good to see us taking care of business this last half week or so.
  5. Updated performance vs recent CWS squads:
  6. Didn't realize how solid he has been recently. Since getting touched up a bit against USCe, in 8 appearances in last 6 weeks or so:
  7. Shut the fuck up, dumbass. Or keep talking shit, maybe Mitch reads Surly. Last night: Daly: 2-3, 2B, BB, HBP, 2 Runs Todd: 0-5 1k DC: 1-4, 2k's Mostly kidding... I'd love to be wrong and Daly to return to 2021 form but need to see it against better pitching. I didn't actually get to watch game last night so no clue how much the results matched the quality of the approaches / AB's.
  8. I know Kansas sucks but this does make me feel a tiny bit better about our loss.
  9. It's really only a discussion when EK returns, but if DC/Todd keep hitting, how much longer does Daly's glove and freshman success keep him in the lineup? He's sporting a .608 OPS and striking out 32% of the time in Big 12 play. He racked up 6 K's against Baylor in 12 AB's. Rest of the team- 10 K's in 95 AB's. He really just seems lost up there at this point.
  10. Yep. And their two remaining series are OU and @KU. Weird shit happens (TCU dropping 2 of 3 in final series in Manhattan last year) but I have hard time seeing them not getting 5 wins out of those 6. Which gets them to 17. To tie, we'd have to go 8-1 in in remaining series of OSU, @WVU and KU.
  11. Really hope Ivan's progress at the plate gets him paid. No clue where he ends up getting picked but shit, the production sure compares favorably to recently drafted college 1B.
  12. Damn. I really liked Lobo. For all of the name dropping and humble bragging, I can't recall him ever being outwardly arrogant or condescending to another poster. Or if he was, it was rare. I thought that was a refreshing contrast to some of the other "insiders" on this board. Sure, brevity wasn't his strength but I always just chalked it up to enthusiasm out of loving the university and this community. I appreciated that. I do recall a kinda odd moment now that I think about it. My memory could be off but I think immamac was trying to impress a bartender downtown and get a bunch of his friends from his website to join him (narrator- nobody did). @ztejas was it you who showed up after imma left, then Lobo said he was going to come through, only to be weird and get a beer by himself and then abruptly leave without saying hi? Maybe he just didn't like Z or maybe there already were some doxxing concerns. Then again, as mentioned above, he did put out a lot of personal information on his own. Lobo, if you're reading- hope you make your way back. And sorry you lost IPIHB access.
  13. A second thought: Pitcher was a big enough bad boy to drill batter and then yell. Once the batter, Tyreque Reed (6'1", 250 lbs), decks him, he then chooses to go after David (5'10", 175 lbs). Perhaps it was fog of war and he went for first green jersey he saw. Or it was a conscious choice, of which I guess I can't fault the logic. But this is an internet message board so I am going to exercise my right to call him a little bitch.
  14. Had to watch it a few times to figure out what happened. David is baserunner on 3B. Batter gets dinged, looks like pitcher yells, batter appears to at least partially connect with a punch. David comes rushing in to ruckus. I can't tell if at first David was just checking to see if #6 (pitcher) was okay or if he was about to brawl before wising up when he saw entire opposing dugout rushing his way. Either way, after pitcher collects himself from getting decked, he charges David low and puts him on the ground. Appears to be a poor choice. David had zero reinforcement from his teammates (they were all down first base line) and the pitcher had literally 7 of his guys trying to pull D-Ham off. 20 seconds later, pitcher is on ground writhing in pain like a little bitch. It appears the pitcher did indeed fuck around and find out.
  15. You can say what we are all thinking. He needs to lose the man tits.
  16. Wear the fucking breaking ball Mitch. You aren't gonna hit shit.
  17. And a like .650 OPS on the season. I would've liked to see a pitchout after we went up 0-1. But we didn't... and frankly the bunt was so well placed I'm not sure we had a play even if we had sold out for it.
  18. Here comes the squeeze.
  19. Y'all think we should bring Blair in?
  20. Gotta get 6 more outs without DP or Allen in the dugout. Maybe addition by subtraction?
  21. If that’s free fall, I don’t want to know what getting skullfucked by 12 runs at home to Air Force is. Probably a free fall joke in there but I’m too pissed to think of it.
  22. If that’s free fall, I don’t want to know what getting skullfucked by 12 runs at home to Air Force is. Probably a free fall joke in there but I’m too pissed to think of it.
  23. I was. And I now feel poorly for it due to your genuine, good natured response. In baseball, the dead-ball era was the period from around 1900 to the emergence of Babe Ruth as a power hitter in 1919
