  1. We had an amazing experience at Leo last year - what a trip. Oh, and yes - in Bogota. A few random pictures I could find at a moment's notice: ^^^ Every course had a unique set of utensils
  2. One can have their doubts about Coach Prime long term and still acknowledge how big this game was for him and maybe even spend a minute rethinking the whole situation (even if one does not change position). Wait, on second thought, maybe not... no, definitely not.
  3. Not everywhere does it the same - at Scott Stadium they track your alcohol purchases and limit you to 4. There is no way that's gonna be enough for me to watch all their home games this season. As much as I want them to be decent, this team is turrible. /CMB dad
  4. I get that, but I had this impression of Elevation being this sorta regional NC thing and not in a bunch of places where there was a lot of $$$. It was surprising to see that dude on the list of top money preachers, regardless of the number. I guess I'm still not well calibrated on the idea that the grift can be even more effective on those folks without the $.
  5. Continuing the aside briefly, I don't expect politicians to be the most moral, upstanding people in the world - far from it. Something drew them to politics, and, to say nothing of the moral failings anyone will exhibit at some point in life, I quite simply I don't believe most are idealists or those who put serving others first. Maybe some start out that way, but I have a tough time believing that it sticks. That said, how about just not showing exemplary leadership in how to be complete ass? ETA: I am speaking very generically here, which is probably not so wise on this particular thread. I do think there are a good number of politicians that are not complete ass... high bar, I realize.
  6. Seriously worried about how fucked over people are going to be because of this. I have been fortunate (even if I was a dumbass up to that point) to realize I was underinsured a couple of times and rectify it before it became a problem. One of those sorta paid off, I was just in time. Anyway, my point is that it's easy to fuck that up without being a total slacker. I am SURE there are a lot of people that are either underinsured or finding out that their local insurance company can't cover it all. (Not a professional, so I don't have much idea what happens after that, but I get the fear/anxiety and how that affects decisions.) I hate the thought that especially these people, under duress, may end up deciding to sign over to the sharks. I know people are needing the essentials right now, but I would also contribute to a fund that would help fight this bullshit in the mid-term to long-term.
  7. This suuuuuuuuuucks. Was just there a few weeks ago. One of the canoe clubs just north of Lahaina was hosting races one day and I walked down to watch. Ended up meeting a bunch of locals from around Lahaina and chatting for an hour or so while watching the races. Really cool, friendly guys... thinking about them today.
  8. I hear ya, but if it's a sport(-like thing) then it's just innovation and evolution
  9. I'm a girl dad, yet the fam told me today we should go next year. While a spectacle is always fun, I think they just love George Shea. I, too, dig his entrance announcements. Buffer brothers could maybe take a lesson imo.
  10. Jesus, I should always have my glasses on at this point - I thought the FAFO handle said ImissWallyFairway!
  11. Idk, I for one think it's an intentional consequence. Like anyone could even know that
  12. It comes across that way if you don't understand a) why he's in a wheelchair, b) the financial benefits he receives due to the settlement associated with that reason, and c) his later actions to cap similar awards to far less than the benefits he has received. Abbott is, I believe, the one exception to my being 100% against the use of a reference like Hot Wheels.
  13. I've stayed in what may be the same condos, and the mornings on the lanai were amazing. Lack of dipshits (tourists) was incredible. I hope it never changes on Molokai - best of luck to the locals who continue to resist tourism-related development. If you enjoy a slower pace, don't need to pampered, and can accept being treated as an outsider at times, Molokai can be awesome.
  14. The assassination brought me back, but I had missed this from just up the thread. Thanks for posting. I do know a number of Persians, but I'd never really thought about why. Good stuff, too, about reasons to believe in the people.
