  1. It ran through my house over the last month - everyone but me somehow. They're all past their isolation periods and are now gone for 7 days while I work and play golf (you know, because empty house). We overlap at home for about 36 hours before I leave on a fun trip I am really looking forward to (and that I need to be healthy for the duration). If it weren't for the low probability of a super quick reinfection I think I would sleep in the basement during that time. Honestly I kind of wish I had gotten it a couple of weeks ago in the midst of it, assuming not a bad case. After the trip I will go back to normal, but the last few weeks I've been a little more careful to try and keep plans in place. We'll see how it plays out...
  2. I haven't felt quite as patriotic today as I have in many prior years, but I appreciate the hell out of this gesture.
  3. To be fair, those were the exact words that the police spokes person used multiple times. That said, I agree it sounds silly.
  4. No way she wrote that - massive shortage of embarrassing typos.
  5. Not picking on anyone, but I read a lot of comments about comparisons to seasonal allergies, cedar fever, a garden variety cold, and a "mild" flu. As someone who has nasal allergies to a billion things, my season is every season. I guess the good thing is I'm used to a fair amount of feeling shitty (note: no shot treatment - I'm a puss about shots, plus I've moved around a bit and was told that would affect the treatment outcome). Anyway, as someone who has dealt with all of those, I would put them at seasonal allergies (even my near constant shit) < garden variety cold <<< cedar fever <<<<< any actual diagnosed flu Just me probably, but these are pretty much all on different levels so it's hard to dial in on how bad it is for someone in any given case. Worse than the flu is pretty fucking shitty, imo.
  6. For what it's worth, I think the "Saudi money BAD" argument is stupid and a distraction. It's one of those ideas that just turns the whole discussion sideways. There are plenty of interesting elements in play without invoking the Saudi role. Good discussion.
  7. I think we were all doing the same thing trying to figure out wtf hit it. Super fast coming in, damn.
  8. And I meant to say - if they would just say "Fuck yeah, I'm all in it for the (extra) millions" I'd respect it more. Fuck your time with family, etc. Anyone making that kind of money pretty much has to make some significant sacrifices, along with tons of people that don't make any serious money but work hard. Just own it, guys.
  9. Man, fuck these guys that are chasing big paydays and can't admit the truth (that's all it is). Pretty sure I read the book - well, I KNOW I didn't learn about it in the movie - but this is where Francis Ouimet took on the badasses of his day and created a story for the ages. Those guys had the money and everything, but he prevailed. The guys that are successful today are ALL going to be rich, so Rory and John and others are right. It IS about the history and level of competition, etc., and not just the payday for guys on this level.
  10. Pretty cool, but would be way better without the NCAA logo
  11. Pretty sure that soundtrack is the Gilmour collaboration with the recording of the Ukrainian musician that joined in the defense and recorded Oh the Red Viburnum in the Meadow. I'd know that guitar anywhere, but I think I recognized the vocals in this case, too.
  12. https://apnews.com/article/explosions-cuba-caribbean-havana-5b8057c9a85c63521ca5306dd86e1567 Apparently a gas leak, but regardless no bueno. Was just looking into a possible trip there, and while I know it's a coincidence it kind of freaked me out.
