  1. I want the city to be as smothering with its enforcement as it was last summer with its nonsense parklet rules (full meals, no standing, etc). I am tired of this shit. So happy it’s flat out full vaxxed too.
  2. I mean, I guess, but the FDA advises against it and another (non-peer reviewed) study found it had no effect whatsoever. But seriously, horse paste.
  3. San Francisco to require full vaccination for most indoor activities.
  4. Holy shit r/HermanCainAward? That’s incredible.
  5. I’m sure he’s never had a problem taking his shoes off at the airport.
  6. I don’t know if he started it, but he certainly propagated it.
  7. No, of course not. Apparently Joe Rogan completely misinterpreted a 2015 study on the phenomenon. From what I can tell, the current dominant variants, if you will, of ill-informed views on Texags/TD are (i) you can still get it/pass it so there’s utterly no point*, (ii) the vaccine is causing the super variants and (iii) IVERMECTIN!!!! *As a corollary, the eradication of polio appears to be a big “checkmate lib” talking point. I have no idea why. As it turns out, COVID led to a suspension of WHO’s polio immunization campaigns last year, leaving 30-40 million kids without inoculations. So aggy is fucking up polio, too.
  8. The common complaint on TexAgs seems to be that it isn’t apple-flavored enough.
  9. Alright, we have facts that can be readily observed and proven or disproven. Trump did not win the election, there was no voter fraud (and never has been meaningfully), Obama was born in Hawaii, John Kerry actually did earn those medals, there were never any WMDs and Saddan Hussein didn’t have fuck to do with 9/11. And there are phenomena that can be only understand through the scientific method, but have been so thoroughly researched that they are tantamount to fact: climate change is real and caused by humans, and humans evolved from apes. There have been hundreds of think-pieces over the past five years about the need for a common understanding of facts to have a social discourse, so I won’t go into that. But one can absolutely be comfortable in the conviction that another’s belief, perception or skepticism is incorrect. I’m not going to respect a person’s decision to deny the unanimity of modern medicine while they go to the fucking Tractor Supply and fight for the last of the apple-flavored horse dewormer. But more importantly, this ignorance (and that’s what it is) is the product of decades of misinformation by the conservative movement. You had, incredibly, never heard of Emmitt Till - do you know think the CRT thread would have gone differently if you had?
  10. In case you were wondering how to ingest the horse paste, TexAgs has you covered. My favorite was when someone sincerely asked if you could buy it OTC at Tractor Supply or if you needed a vet scrip.
  11. Checkmate, lib.
  12. Yep, riding in Tucks and have a house for the entire Carnival season. At this rate that’s not looking great either.
  13. Yeah, that’s so disheartening. Was going stay for both weekends. New Orleans has had an awful past eighteen months. Head over to Tigerdroppings if you want to be get really angry.
  14. Jazz Fest canceled.
  15. Yes, I happened to check in when it happened. Guy was only in his fifties, as I recall. Very long thread of condolences, and ags got IRATE of any urge to take COVID seriously. Like it would be an insult to the memory of a rural physician who died serving his community in a pandemic.
  16. I support the city’s proposed vax requirement (I live in SF too). The mask mandate is pointless without capacity requirements - we’re back in that absurd early June phase where folks wear there masks from the door to the table/bar and promptly toss their masks aside as they sit down.
  17. I’m driving down to get my booster tomorrow. Word is it’s running through bars and restaurant staffs all over town.
  18. I’ll be there for the full week - no update from the organizers yet on delta implications, but would definitely like a vax requirement. I’m not too worried about Jazz Fest just yet, but the city may need to delay the beginning of the second line season, which begins Labor Day. Just really want to see Galactic at Tip’s almost 18 months after they were supposed to play last.
  19. Thank god for Louisiana that David Vitter likes hookers.
  20. Tipitina’s, d.b.a. and Maple Leaf announced they’d be required vaccination proof and I’m seeing quite a few other places follow suit.
  21. Have a friend who works for the A’s and games are a blast, but this is tough to beat.
  22. That was the high in my ‘hood today. With the microclimates, Oracle is relatively balmy. Will be there tomorrow.
  23. My MAGA sister isn’t getting vaccinated, which stunned me as everyone else in my family, Republican or not, eagerly got the shot. I was even more stunned that she had dinner with my 94-year old grandmother last week. I don’t even know how to confront her about this. She and her moron fiancee are trying to plan a honeymoon. Italy is out because of vaccination proof, so they are pivoting to Hawaii (that shouldn’t last long). Her bachelorette party is supposed to be out here in Napa, but 10/11 girls aren’t vaccinated. Hate to break it to them, but that’s not going to happen either (though they are worried about another CA lockdown, because apparently that’s a thing among the OAN crowd). Why the hell is the so hard?
