  1. If I were to choose one place that defines New Orleans to me, it would be Liuzza’s. And now it’s up for sale. Not COVID-related, but still a huge bummer.
  2. It’ll never happen but would love for someone to call her out on being a transfer student.
  3. Nostalgia aside, I have just always though Link’s version took it to the next level. I hate Alan Richman to this day for his hit on NO in GQ, but his take on CG was the only thing I agreed with. Am about to spend three months in NO since we are working remote for the next year, so will have plenty of time for taste testing.
  4. JFC, welcome to the big leagues, where people work on Sunday and take proactive public health measures.
  5. Oh absolutely, by miles. Only place for a muff in town IMO.
  6. TexAgs is confused. If Trump is alleging election fraud, why aren’t his lawyers?
  7. And to think Republicans used to be against frivolous lawsuits.
  8. The donations Trumpkins are sending for the “legal defense fund” will be used for MAGA rallies to sell them on the new Trump digital news network
  9. Agreed. For example, not that Biden’s campaign would be aware of this, but promoting clean energy seems to me like a pretty good sell for the Texas economy. We have the begun the era of consolidation in O&G and the future of shale has dimmed. With household names like Anadarko, Parsley, Concho etc gone, so are thousands of high-paying jobs that contributed to the Texas boom over the past decade, and this will ripple throughout the economic ecosystem surrounding O&G. But it’s not a given that Texas will attract the growing renewables sector simply because it’s the energy capital (most banks have their renewables desks in SF or NYC, for example), and I think it would be sensible for the state to attract that growth to create jobs and diversify the economy. But I never see the issue framed that way. Instead, we make it an environmental one, the economic benefits of which are not immediately apparent and underlying issues of which are often disputed or denied.
  10. I think time has softened how bad the “freedom fries” jingoism among the right was preceding Iraq. And the swift boaters were the first really organized right-wing misinformation campaign - and they actually believed it. It was only a matter of time before death panels and Bill Ayers.
  11. Yeah, but Nixon’s wasn’t part of the National Archives until 15 years or so ago, and when they took over they redid the whole Watergate exhibit (I saw it - it was hilarious). I don’t see how the NA deals with any shit for Trump’s.
  12. The TexAgs brain trust cannot figure out why the Trump-backed Georgia SOS threw the election for Biden.
  13. I wonder if Jerry Brown has gotten bored at his ranch yet.
  14. Hold on guys - Rod Blagojevich has weighed in and there’s no way there’s no voter fraud in Philadelphia (he tells Newsmax several months after Trump bailed him out of prison).
  15. Yeah, since my sister became brainwashed I’ve been following a few of the Q/alt right accounts just to try to understand their world. Instagram has been nuking accounts lately so they are falling back to Parler. Don’t think they get a fraction of their former viewership over there so they keep crawling back to big tech.
  16. It was really more for the source - if a Twitter account has a pinned tweet with a backup account, you’re looking at porn or alt right batshit.
  17. I think it’s that he’s too prideful to admit, or even be aware of, the right thing to do. His reflection on Kanye’s Katrina outburst as the lowest moment of his presidency sums it up: he was upset because Kanye insulted him and didn’t bother to reflect upon the actual statement or his actions. And Matt Lauer immediately called him out on that point in that interview and W just shrugged it off. He’s “retired” because he’s too spineless to be in the public arena and be held accountable for his presidency. Fuck him.
  18. TexAgs has abandoned Fox and hopes Tucker Carlson will take a pay cut to go to Newsmax because he’s already rich.
