  1. I appreciate the scouting, but one thing I’m sure of is I have no concerns about the Texas DEF vs the Arizona State offense should that matchup transpire
  2. And BEVO won’t be invited to any of them. Anarchy
  3. Clemson lost to Georgia 34-3 1st game of the season in ATL at “neutral site”, 33-21 at home to Louisville mid-season, 17-14 at home to South Carolina end of season, and held on to beat SMU in The ACC Championship game. Even factoring in some of the fleas some of us think Texas has (QB, kicker, O-line, play-calling, whatever your beef), Texas should be able to get past Clemson at home
  4. The 6-seed was the place to be in this bracket. 5-seed slightly tougher, but also favorable
  5. By rule, if the 5th ranked conference champion is not ranked in the top 12 they are “automatically” the 12-seed. Goofy for sure in the SMU v Clemson discussion
  6. All of this is of course subject, but for me personally? Nonsense
  7. Really? I would’ve guessed Fiesta Bowl
  8. Absolutely. Conf championship guarantees must eventually go away
  9. Monitoring CFP reveal while also monitoring last-minute NFL injury reports ahead of the final week of the fantasy football season proving to be quite the challenge. Some asshole is bound to leak the CFP bracket online before this ESPN show slow rolls it
  10. Hoping for 5, expecting 6, preparing my anus for 7/8
  11. Additional thought on Quinn Ewers going forward: I suppose the playoff bracket could effect any decision to replace Quinn. For example, if Texas’ first (2) opponents are SMU followed by Arizona State or Boise, Quinn may be granted a longer leash. If it’s Bama/Clemson/other, maybe not so much. And if Quinn performed against SMU, Arizona St/Boise, he may be granted more leash for the semifinal, but I would bet that semifinal leash will be very short. It’s win or go home from here on out, and there are no guarantees you’ll be playing for a championship next year while they absolutely are playing for one now
  12. I saw Sark on the sidelines on several occasions visually frustrated, shaking his head, and mumbling under his breath after a Ewers bone-headed throw/decision which I interpreted as there were execution problems of said plays, and one’s Sark thought were pretty damn obvious
  13. I want Georgia. And I want them with Arch at QB
  14. I’m seeing a lot of people slotting Ohio State over Penn State (head-to-head) and slotting Ohio State over Texas. The possibilities truly are endless
  15. Alright. Calling it a night. I’m going to bed thinking the Big XII commissioner was absolutely right: the logos on the side of the helmet absolutely DO matter, forget what you think is fair, and recognize that ratings matter. All of this bespeaks of SMU getting fucked, and I think they absolutely will. Hello Bama. Now it’s just about matchups. Do they want Texas v Bama or Clemson and how do you flip-flop various seeds to make that happen?
  16. Really? Because I think they are absolutely going to axe SMU and Iowa State already got the axe
  17. There’s so many ways this damn committee can land, none of us really have any idea how this will land tomorrow. I’m listening to national sports talk radio (Fox sports) as I type this and they just had the host debating with some Bama hack making the case for Bama. The host said something along the lines “Texas’ loss to Georgia today may hurt Bama’s chances of getting in because Texas and SMU basically have the same resume (losing to only valid opponents w/ wins over teams barely in or out of the top 25) and that it would be illogical to put Texas in the playoff and not SMU. They both agreed Texas should drop below ND & Penn State. The point is the opinions are endless, and who knows the logic of the committee
  18. I would imagine the committee is absolutely going to use SMU’s loss to keep them out of the playoff completely
  19. We’ll see what they ultimately decide, but there is a lot of debate online outside Texas circles about whether Penn State and/or Notre Dame should be seeded ahead of Texas. Really hard to predict how the committee will go, but I think it’s only realistic to assume ratings matter
  20. Well the networks would certainly love those 1st RD matchups: Clemson @ Texas, Bama @ Penn State, Indiana @ Notre Dame in state, Tennessee @ Ohio State. In a future where there is no deserve, only ratings this very well could be what the committee decides on though they could flip flop Bama and Clemson
  21. It’s simple. They’re the only team on our schedule that could
