  1. Nah, I’ve had the same silly handle since Hornfans.
  2. My guess is that Abbott and Soros are in on this together. Advantage ag
  3. Man I honestly don’t know. Sometimes it just happens?
  4. Last thing I’ll say here. During Covid, Jay and I worked out a lot at about 5:30am at the neighborhood country club. The way I felt about it then and since, is that he was stressed the fuck out by all the shit that is UT… protests, donors, development, faculty, legislature, etc. My take was that everyone wanted him to be a blowhard and all he wanted to do was play school. Which is awesome- playing school is what we need. But much like being the head football coach at UT, being the President ain’t just about the X’s and O’s of education. It’s our loss. Happy for him.
  5. Shit, I’d thump a bible for that job. Yeah, I’m an alumnus too and I agree it’s not the best look. But… (to further validate my username, which is from a rap song btw), I texted a buddy of mine from Amarillo who is a SMU guy and dad is a long time trustee. They say they money whipped… but they say that about everything. I don’t doubt that the lege is a significant headache to running a world class research institution. But not the knee jerk boogeyman either.
  6. Look. Maybe you’re right… but your take is also just speculation. I know both Jay and Kevin a bit, so far as I see them at the gym, see them at parties, and have both of their phone numbers. I’ve never heard either of them mention politics, but I have heard them both mention that running UT is like running a small country. Well- I’ve heard Eltife bitch about Tx Lege plenty, but not as it relates to UT.
  7. I know everyone wants to make it political, and there is certainly some of that. But really it’s about taking an easier job for more money. Jay is a good dude. And not an idiot.
  8. What are the other reasons?
  9. Do you have to post every 30 fucking seconds?
  10. If I am Thumb, I walk away from the Dak situation and get a paycheck elsewhere.
  11. Obviously this is not a real game, but your boy Lance looks competent.
  12. What is your point?
  13. So but can we fire RT?
  14. Agree with all of this. When you play 17 games in a season, there will just be at least a couple of them that are strange- and this was one of them. The score, the box score, the media and message board narrative, none of it reflects what actually happened on the field. It’s not just what penalties were called or not called- the timing of the calls matters just as much. You miss blocking a punt that gives the other team a 1st down. You dominate, but the breaks keep the game close. It just happens on a long enough timeline. Ohio St has our level of talent. Our advantage is QB play (yes) and coaching (yes). Their advantage is special teams, because we can’t kick If this game was played the week after they lost to Michigan and we beat A&M, where would the line be? Somewhere around Texas -2? This is still where I would have it.
  15. The matchup is actually pretty decent for us. They want to sling it, but we have the best secondary they’ve seen this year. And we can get pressure with 4. And we have Ant who can outrun anyone on second level. We’ve got an NFL guy for everyone they have. Not to be captain obvious, but we need to be able to have a somewhat existent run game. What stands out to me is how much space is available to QE on zone read type plays. He will have 5-7 yards on the outside but hands it off to Wis running right into the middle for 1 yard. QB1 has to realize that he has 8 quarters of football left at Texas and he can be a legend if he leaves it all out there and runs the ball. It can’t be Arch, because it would be out of rhythm and right along with tendency. Has to be QE. He can do it if he trusts his own athleticism. Old high school coach used to say that if you run without fear you don’t get hurt, you hurt others.
  16. Seriously. Just standing there looking lost.
  17. We had 10 penalties against ASU, 2 against Clemson, 11 against UGA, 5 against A&M. Play a clean game on offense and we can beat anyone. Commit double digit penalties and we’re hanging on for life in OT. That and sideshow missing relatively easy kicks.
  18. Palmer isn’t bad
