  1. To start, I don't knowingly eat any of the three but, personal tastes aside, there's a big difference between eating tripe, heart and stomach and eating ground tripe, heart and stomach from McDonald's. Kind of like I love oysters but wouldn't get them as a seasonal special from Jack in the Box. Hot take, I know.
  2. Okay, cool, didn't mean to impose on the Burton fan club meeting. Carry on.
  3. We've had a long stretch of years where DBs flash (or even shine consistently) as underclassman only for them to regress in their later years. Sterns is another one beyond these two that come to mind. Looking forward to flipping that script.
  4. That's fair, I just evaluate a person based on the separate realms they're working in. I respect/appreciate that Bobby played an important role in the NIL stuff but don't think that has any weight when considering whether he's providing value a lot of people pay $9.95 monthly for (providing "inside" information, which this was not).
  5. Per usual, thanks for the scoop, Bobby. Incredible stuff. The first and second sentence contain info anyone that watched the Instagram video would known (in the vid, Ewers said he was packing up his tOSU dorm), and the Boyd transfer was widely reported. Third sentence is just obvious, anyone thinking logically would expect that Ewers would influence Boyd's destination not the other way around.
  6. Genuine question, was Adimora expected to portal? Obviously BJ was. Know Chris had his struggles but he flashed at points and expected he would likely have a starting role next year. Bigger loss of the two if just purely for depth.
  7. From Louisiana and was committed to LSU at one point during his recruitment. And from my casual observation of transfer portaling, particularly as an underclassman, heading to a program back in the home state seems like a common narrative. Would be interested to see data analysis on that kind of stuff - e.g., statistically significant correlation between home state, schools to which a commitment was made during original process (but later broken) and experience level (e.g., freshman/sophomore; junior; graduates). By-position could also be insightful. QB is obvious, their transfer destination is more location-agnostic and based almost entirely on ability to start immediately, but might be able to glean something on other position groups. For example, my observation is that OL tend to value "playing school," transfer as junior or grad and end up at a P5 university with decent to good academics.
  8. Took it into my own hands. Will lay out my understanding of the Instagram post for my fellow social-media challenged surly users. WTW is abbreviation/slang for "what's the word." Comparable "what's up." I think this is the topic of a prompt Xavier posted on his Instragram, which viewers (including QE) can type a message/response into that is sent to Xavier. The text below "WTW" is what QE sent to Xavier in response to the prompt. "BET" at the bottom is slang indicating approval or acceptance of a dare. As in, Quinn said he's going to look good in the UT uniform, and Xavier's response effectively means, "that's cool, I'm all for that, but let's see it happen" (i.e., commit already). God...never felt older as a millennial as I do now.
  9. Can someone explain what I'm looking at? Seconded, as ashamed as I am to do it. Is the "We gotta get some workouts . . ." text a message from QE to XW? What is the significance/meaning of the "WTW" and "BET"?
  10. Your not alone in the hate, many have expressed the same. If I had elite tech or graphic design skills I wouldn't be a lawyer, but if you're friends with LSUFreek or someone of gif-editing caliber, by all means I'd love a QE update (please also have them change the socks from meatchicken to TTU or OU).
  11. As mentioned, covered by night crew during the 2:00 - 8:00 a.m. window. I was F5'ing this thread most of yesterday through 2:00 a.m. Woke up without the usual masochistic thoughts, so really can't be expected to wade through whatever was discussed during that stretch (frankly surprised it was anything QE-related). But do appreciate the link.
  12. Ha yeah that was me. Busted out of the CTJ gulag and originally came to this thread last week for the flight tracking fun, stayed for the friends and CFS talk.
  13. If there was an in-home with Kittley yesterday, haven't seen a peep about how it went (unless it was covered by night crew during the 2:00 - 8:00 a.m. window).
  14. You'll be shocked to hear their (sole) "Grade A" hire was Riley.
  15. In related news, Tech board is melting over the LA times article that grades the JM hire out at a solid "C": C Grade hires Joey McGuire, Texas Tech: The Red Raiders were 5-3 in Matt Wells’ third season when they fired him, so they must have really been pining for a fresh start. They moved quickly to pluck McGuire from Baylor, where he had been a part of successful seasons under Matt Rhule and now Dave Aranda. But McGuire’s biggest draw for Texas Tech was the connectivity of his story as a former high school football coach at Cedar Hill outside of Dallas, where he won three state championships before Rhule brought him to Waco. The Red Raiders just didn’t seem like themselves under Wells, and it will be McGuire’s job to get their guns up in the newly-renovated Big 12.
  16. Surprised this hasn't gotten more run / forensic analysis given the lack of recent developments. As someone already noted, Evan Stewart is among the recent follows. Other recent ones include Dewberry, as well asthis 4-star OL out of Georgia (committed to Tennessee and no Texas (or TTU) offer listed) and a couple other Tennessee folks. Recent Tech-related follows include Zach Kittley (new OC/QB coach) and Sean Razloznik (SLC DL coach and TTU grad). Couple others that stuck out to me were two SCAR coaches: Marcus Satterfield (OC/QB coach) and Justin Stepp (WR coach). Perhaps there was actually smoke to the SCAR 247 thread where an poster / purported message-board insider claimed that they were a dark horse for QE - that thread was public when I checked a couple days ago, but they've since took it under premium. Don't see any Texas follows on the first page, guessing he's probably already following most coaches/commits of import from back when Quinn was committed here.
  17. Great start, guys (and girl). Absent a commitment, at this rate we’ll reach the collapse of Rome by COB tomorrow.
  18. My invite to the surly meetup must have gotten lost in the mail.
