  1. Re a possible CDC vote of confidence, the logical side of my brain tells me we've gone too far in this game for him to do a 180 and and truly expect that fixes the issue, best it could do IMO is provide a bandaid until NSD 1. Further, if that's the plan at this point and we're to believe the 9.95 leaks re keeping Herman are CDC-influenced, why the fuck would CDC choose to message that through Ketch and other online rags? In other words, why wouldn't he just get it out there himself? As a trial balloon to gauge UT fans' reactions? Have a hard time believing that, as it's pretty clear how most feel about retaining Herman and, frankly, don't think the AD gives a shit what message board sentiment is so long as DKR seats are filled. The emotional side of my brain says fuck that shit, there will be no public vote of confidence because it doesn't fit my desired narrative and it'd be a stupid fucking decision.
  2. Correct. And in my mind the two things are separate. You can dismiss the lack of public displays of support up until, say, the beginning of this week, as CDC strategy for taking a swing at Urban and laying the groundwork to reel him in and transition coaches. But if we're to believe Urban has truly become "no" and CDC has switched courses to bringing back Herman sometime in the last few days, that switch would logically involve publicly supporting him now. The verifiable fact is that CDC has stayed the court of no public support despite the change in circumstances being reported. It doesn't line up. Edit: See CTJ is suggesting the above might change near-term. If that happens, the above obviously goes out the window. But until then, fishy.
  3. I think what's most telling is the "endorsement" via 9.95'ers yet complete lack of direct public support, not so much as a tweet.
  4. (A) Ketch doesn’t know shit, said nothing of substance and was even inaccurate in that I don’t believe anyone has reported that Urban gave us a hard “no,” yet he took that unsubstantiated leap in that post. (B) He and/or OB interns clearly scour this threat because about half of it read like it was targeted directly at the surly crews.
  5. No one rep me - count is at 666. When we get to page 666 of this thread, something in the cosmos will align and cause it to happen. I can feel it in my jimmies. Edit: Already busted. Carry on as normal. Or neg me back into alignment, your choice.
  6. Spoiler alert: He's not going to respond. His MO is to drop a curiosity bomb with no context every once in a while and sit back and watch us stir. Maybe we'll get three ninja emojis. Maybe.
  7. @hornfromdallas, do you intentionally fuzz up these pictures post-shot or do avoid that step by taking them all with a potato?
  8. Not sure it's a good thing that this is now picking up steam in the media again. I'd honestly prefer the speculation be contained to the degenerate trust tree that is this thread.
  9. Potentially worse, the end of the CFP.
  10. Truly cancelled - declared a no contest and won’t be rescheduled. Regular season, fin.
  11. That our facilities/infrastructure are behind those of our peers but that it's something that's being improved (SEZ) and can be further improved by throwing money at it? eyeroll.gif
  12. Would someone with that mentality discuss a potential HC opportunity over the course of three months, ultimately negotiating down to the finest of details, if he didn't think said opportunity was "perfect, perfect, perfect situation" material?
  13. Clickity mother fuckin' clack. At what point can those that have hung around this whole time take off our tinfoil hats and be accepted into broader society?
  14. Great post. Re the bolded, I tend to give that scenario more than a "slight chance" based alone on the fact that "giving false no's to everyone around him" was precisely his modus operandi during the period of rumors leading up to him taking the tOSU job. Further to that point, this is not his first rodeo and he clearly knows that anything he directly says one way or the other, to anyone and even if in confidence, has a high probably of leaking out and igniting rumors. He also has a legacy and close relationships at tOSU he wants to preserve as much as possible as well as a family to protect from public scrutiny (read: from rabid tOSU fan base - imagine how bad they'd be if we moved from rumor to "it's truly happening" phase). And, as shown w/r/t Fickell and tOSU during Urban's last coaching transition, he seems to hold himself to some standards of professionalism in this sort of situation such that he is going to vehemently deny any public discussion about taking a job before it's open and the target team's season is a wrap (probably less of a consideration w/r/t Herman in this case, and more for his tOSU buddies and the players at both schools). Given what we know, Urban would strongly prefer to say nothing at all. But that option was taken off the table when the public spectacle blew up (literally on national television) and was having the same practical effect as if he had indicated a "yes." So it would be logical that his only option in that situation is to "give out false no's to everyone around him."
  15. Has Shake Shack been discussed? Sure it has. I didn't want to like it and they're overpriced as hell, but there's something about them to me that kicks.
  16. Going solely off of places I've actually had them: Czech Stop > Kolache Shoppe > Hruska's > Kolache Factory > Shipley's
  17. Slang for let's fuckin' go.
  18. Haha appreciate it. Surviving and thriving, feeling good. Think him and his wife are really going to enjoy that cross-country trip.
  19. I don't know shit, but speculation is Urban, if he were to accept the job, wouldn't do so until (at earliest) the weekend of the 19th after conference championship games are played and his Fox contract expires or (at latest) after tOSU has wrapped up any playoff run, which could extent to the CFP final on January 11th. Assuming one agrees with that, question is really whether you have Herman or no head coach in place come NSD 1.
  20. Likewise.
  21. Damn, that looks great. And apparently my co-workers suck when tested against that bar.
  22. So far we've covered condiments, burgers and butts on this page alone. Just need to discuss barbeque and worst TX towns for bingo.
  23. Checking in for night crew and digging the electricity in this thread.
  24. Crowd skepticism warranted, but two flights leaving KOSU for HSB at the same time (to the minute) is highly, highly unusual. Most traffic out of KOSU is either loop flights (right back to KOSU) or to other parts of Ohio, not a lot of out-of-state (especially to TX). HSB is just low traffic generally. Just saying, noteworthy. There really aren't, normally. Will just say that the number through the course of last week appears to be an outlier.
