Well, catching up was a beating. Anyways, about carl's plane. Here's the photo he posted earlier this week, passengers supposedly being BMDs. imgur.com/a/SAAbUzU After he posted about it, surly aviation experts (not me) did analysis and concluded it was a smaller jet model likely produced in the 80s or 90s. I believe it this model year 1991 Dassault Falcon 50, Tail No. N98DH. As you'll note, it was in Manhattan, KS yesterday, in Austin this morning, and is now headed to Bermuda Dunes airport - the same airport the plane I was discussing yesterday went last night from Vegas. As mentioned, Urban was reportedly in Vegas yesterday, and Bermuda Dunes airport is 8 miles from Phil Knight's house. Back to the plane itself, here are the photos that plane from a website where it was listed for sale - it appears to have been purchased by its current owner in 2015. https://imgur.com/a/BBcgbAZ Compare those photos versus the one carl posted. It's clear that the current owner refurbished/renovated the plane since purchase, but the bones are still the same. On the interior, notably the medium dark wood paneling throughout, the 4-place club seating arrangement in the front, the forward-cabin galley, the window shape and the gold-plated air vents. On the exterior, note the 6th-window exit and how that aligns with where the exit sign in carl's photo (top right-hand corner). If you're still with me, now to whose plane this is. The FAA records show it is TOSGO F50, LLC, FAA-listed address of 9108 Zyle Rd, Austin TX (which looks to be a residential address with a very large plot of land/house). And the same one listed as the registered address with the TX SOS, which shows registered agent at that address is Trey Owen. Trey is Co-Founder of Austin-based real estate private equity firm JLM Financial Partners. He's not a UT alumnus, but the Managing Director is. Couldn't find the alma mater of the firm's Chairman. So other than the MD, no direct connection between JLM and UT, though they're obviously in Austin (real estate nonetheless), looks like Trey has attended UT galas, etc. Another person that was listed as (might still be, unclear) registered agent for the entity is Billey Meyer of Waco, with registered address tied to Texas Aero, a general aviation facility servicing the Waco Regional Airport. Billy is famous drag racer who built the Texas Motorplex in Ennis. Don't know if there's anything to tie out to UT there, but thought it was interesting that he mentions on his company's website how the company did business with President Bush when he'd stop through Waco on the way to Prairie Chapel Ranch. So, Austin-owned plane that I believe is the one in carl's photo and is on its way to the same airport as the one last night speculated to be carrying UM.

Hey guys, I'm about five pages behind so going to catch up first, but in case it's still potentially relevant, I'm pretty confident I've identified the plane in the photo that carl posted glizzy gladiators in a few days ago...and it's headed to CA.

I'm obviously biased, but not sold that the Kendra F900 was a nothingburger. No offense to theBigHen and his thirteen posts, but all we heard was that there was no one "recognizably important" on the plane. The theory was it was Urban friends & family, so wouldn't expect them to be. The little we were told was passengers included "a man, a middle aged man, and a woman." The woman could have been Shelley or a daughter.@ChiTownDoc also said the following yesterday in re to the Sarasota to ATX flight: "Those are people close to Urbs. Bruce Cassidy is very close to Urban and his family. He owns the concession golf club in Sarasota. I’ll let you all connect the dots." Bruce Cassidy is a middle-aged man. As for the third man, no idea, but in theory could be any other friend/family member without more details. And all that is underscored by the fact that the report came third-hand from a friend at Atlantic, and theBigHen even noted that "they have strict protocols now after what happened when Saban came to town." Friend could have given theBigHen bad info, not gotten an eye on others on the plane (didn't sound he like he had a close/good vantage point given the very limited and vague details we got), been scouting out the wrong plane - or hell, maybe the friend doesn't exist. Just saying, not staking my life on the plane being a bonafide hit, we'll probably never know. But way too much went on with it before the ATX landing for me to dismiss it given the above.

Re waiting until after Kansas to have resolution. I don’t think Urban wants to wait for this to concretely decided one way or another (this pressure on him and his circle can’t be enjoyable). I don’t think Texas can afford to wait - having a new coach in after KSU provides about 9 days before early NSD to recruit, not to mention work to keep people from fleeing off the ship, signing with agents, etc. Waiting until after Kansas means roughly two days on the recruiting side.
-
Shouldn’t be surprised, frankly, but are you fucking serious? I get it, he wants to protect his legacy. But what a petty little bitch. He fucked the Saban deal, he got a decade of gratification watching us walk the desert in his absence and hearing people joke about how they bet Texas fans wish we had kept him (and to boot, he was on UT payroll for part of that time), and got to go back home to Chapel Hill and find success. Not enough for you, Mack, you vindictive little bitch? If true, fucker should be cut off from any level of access he still has to the program and not be publicly revered in any way. Not to mention he’s painting UT as a shitty place to coach when he happily stuck around in that hell hole for over a decade and was given plenty of slack/deference/grace during his time (especially post-2009). The Athletic department clearly has some issues but it’s done a multiple cycles of turnover since he left so the fact he can speak to it’s current personnel/environment is laughable. I’m sure Urban and his camp can see through that as well but it’s still infuriating.

Re the tOSU 247 “insider,” I don’t give it much consideration unless it’s a mod or a dude with a demonstrable track record of hitting past scoops. As for his original scoop based on Pantoni and other tOSU staffers not having been contacted meaning that Urban is not testing interest with those he would want to join him at UT, see the Urban-to-tOSU timeline being discussed. Those tOSU dudes have the most to lose if word gets out they’re thinking of jumping to Austin, particularly if it does and any deal that’s at the 1 yard gets Keontay’ed. They would keep their damn mouths shut and lie just like Urban did leading up to him going public re going to tOSU. Also, back to the Urban-to-tOSU rumor fiasco as it relates to Shelley. This isn’t her first rodeo with this kind of deal and the scrutiny it invites, Urban obviously advises her on how to conduct herself in this situation. She parroted the same type as he did back then. Point being, what could be perceived as innocent slips (or indications of anything, really) on Twitter are calculated and potentially misdirection.

My CA resort-town acumen appears to need some work, but Google Maps shows that UDD is 7.7 miles from the Madison Club residential community where Knight's home is.
-
Assuming you're not full of shit, can you please give us a bit more detail? How many people, general descriptions? Perhaps among the passengers there were at least four women, three relatively young and one older, and one college-aged guy? The theory has turned to that flight being the family & friends gang, so the fact they wouldn't be recognizable to the average Joe isn't shocking.

Potential significance of the plane currently going Vegas to Palm Springs was explained in my last post, but short of it is Chip Brown and others reported this morning that Urban was in Vegas today. Eric Nahlin reported today that there was an unnamed "key figure" helping UT in its push for Urban, which @closetojumping confirmed was referring to Phil Knight, Nike founder. CTJ expanded by saying "Knight and Meyer are friends and UM seeks his counsel." Phil Knight's home is off of a renowned golf course in La Quinta, 8 miles from the Palm Springs airport is flying into. The plane also previously made stops in Columbus, OH, HOU and DAL. Summed up, significance/theory is the plane has prior to Vegas was in some way involved in the Urban pursuit. In line with the timelines and locations of the intel mentioned above, it picked up Urban in Vegas and he is going to meet with Phil Knight in La Quinta. From there, my speculation would be it goes on to LA/Fox studios.
-
Tough crowd. As predicted, flight is now in route from Vegas to Palm Springs.
-
Um, guys, I know most of y'all seem to be losing interest in the FlightAware game (except me), but I might have something in light of today's multiple confirmations (by Chip Brown and others) that Urban was in Las Vegas today and (by closetojumping / Eric Nahlin) that Phil Knight is pushing Urban to UT. Posted about this one earlier today before some flight plan updates, but this is the plane in question. To name a few, this week it has had stops in Columbus, Houston and Dallas. Today, it flew from Houston to Las Vegas. They're clearly trying to scramble the upcoming flight plan with some fakes, but it's clear the only viable next leg is Las Vegas to Palm Springs, CA tomorrow. The Palm Springs airport is 8 miles from the swanky Madison Club residential community in La Quinta. How is this relevant? It's home to Phil Knight.

Holy shit, yee of little faith. We're committed. Maybe committed to an ignited rollercoaster screaming through twists, turns and tunnels of COVID-laced air and videos on repeat of scat porn, futureman and videos of your parents banging, but committed nonetheless. How many times have see seen someone post on other boards about purported tOSU big wigs and other Urban connections who were absolutely convinced Meyer would never do such a thing? Tack on a face/name and a crying Jordan meme and all of a sudden our pets' heads are falling off and we're packing it up? Stay. The. Course. Be. Patient.

Revamp the current grass/outdoor practice field, build an innovative two story enclosed facility where the bubble is (different turf fields on each level). Disclaimer: not an engineer.

Won't reiterate all of the rationale already well-explained by others as to why we would have almost surely heard insider reports of a solid "no" by now. However, I'm firmly in the camp that the fact we have not heard such reports, coupled with the mountain of very weird circumstantial data (yes, including flight aware) + reports speaking to sourced-info re the possibility of Urban taking the job being put out by journalists and other outlets that extend beyond our typical 9.95'ers, means that this thing is likely happening (in a good way). Re parallels to the 2013 Saban debacle, I closely followed the equivalent thread over on surly at the time and do not recall near this scope of non-9.95er input, circumstantial evidence or base of people (reporters, fans, etc.) that took it seriously - hell, most don't believe Saban to TX was about a FUPM-tit away from going down. Not to mention the contrast the contrast in alignment and competence of UT's admin branches/donors then vs. now. Just saying, though I wouldn't say I'm injecting the kool-aid quite yet and maybe I'm gullible, but at this point I'd be pretty surprised if Urban isn't our next coach.
-
Well if that's to be believed, this flight raises some flags. It's gone Columbus --> HOU --> DAL --> HOU this week (couple other stops as well) and has a bullshit list of upcoming flights, but one fork would take it from where it is now (HOU) to Las Vegas today and then on to Palm Springs tomorrow. Edit: The Palm Springs piece would also line up with the golfing piece of the Squid's tweet. And getting Urban back out to Palm Springs/California tomorrow would be logical given the Fox show on Saturday.
-
Was about to post the KOSU --> HSB flight that the tOSU boards were talking about, particularly to mention that that would line up with at least a couple things: post by the IT user that was screencapped here a few pages back and claimed that Urban and Shelley were both in Columbus this morning but would be leaving to somewhere today; and the Squid's tweet with the emoji timeline that I now read to be showing the the Horseshoe/tOSU (magnet emoji) --> one flight taking off and touching down (three plane emojis) --> to final destination of HSB (magnet emoji + waves emoji).
-
Clearly Kendra Scott.
-
Interesting update (at least I think it's new) - the plane that is crossing paths in ATL with the Kendra Scott plane tomorrow morning is now showing its next stop as Columbus.
-
Do you want to be crowdsourced? Because that's how you get crowdsourced.
-
HSB is owned by Terramesa Holdings, LLC, which is managed by MacFarlan Capital Partners out of Dallas, whose CEO and MP is a UT alumnus.
-
In the midst of all of this excitement, I'd be curious to hear whether @futureman is standing strong with his long-held position. In before lubing up jokes.
-
HSB has private home rentals, y'all. Bunch of Surly 99%'ers round here.
-
Just wanted to say this is amazing and I simultaneously love and hate all of you.

Re the NetJets-operated Cessna Citation Excel/XLS, it's difficult to gain much traction because there are a lot of them, 50+ alone with TX-registered owners. On the other hand, thought this was interesting. One of the those TX-based XLS owners is the UT Board of Regents (Tail No. N139XL). Funny enough, the tail number is not blocked. However, I suppose it's possible that an "unblocked" plane's details won't show up on FlightAware when it's being flown around by a third-party operator such as NetJets? If that's the case, it gets more interesting because FlightAware shows the BOR's XLS last recorded ride touched down at 8:58 a.m. CST on November 17th. When does the NetJets XLS record history start? At 8:17 a.m. CST on November 17th in Boston, MA. So, thought for a second I might have stumbled across a big connection given that same-day coincidence, but obviously the timing of the handoff means the NetJets plane isn't the BOR's unless it has a flux capacitor or there's a way someone could have done some fuckery with FlightAware to obfuscate the handoff - all ears if any Surly experts know of a way that'd be possible.

Right, but who knows when the last time was that this plane filled up, what Jet Linx's practices are as far as where to fuel (as mentioned, plausible if not likely they prioritize refuel/maintenance at their designated bases when convenient) and whether it'll be making a cross-country jump post-FL.
