Lumon found Gemma to be a perfect candidate for their experiments, so they lied about fertility options to get her to go there, and once she got there, they weren't going to let her leave, so Lumon concocted a story that she died to tell Mark. fuck. that episode flew by.
He said in an earlier episode though that he identified the body. Not that they can't reconcile that, it's not like he took her pulse, but they still need to explain it. At any rate, it's looking more and more that the explanation isn't some kind of "reanimation of a corpse" scheme that has been floated. I won't be satisfied with that.

Nah. That's putting it far too simply.
Murdoch will be dead soon. It's not simply about grift to him and people in this sphere. For people two and three notches down, like Barr and some of the folks in their orbit, sure. For him, and the tech bros, and the hedge fund managers, It's a world view, which is devoid of any understanding (and therefore empathy) towards us.
Shortly after my wife and I got married, we traveled to Uganda as part of an aid group. We went to the poorest district in the country, and then we went to the poorest family in the district- which was an orphaned teen-aged girl and her 3 much younger siblings living in a half roofed mud hut, their clothes literally falling off of them. We, of course, did have deep sympathy, and some of us immediately started to speculate on what they needed, or how we could help them directly, right there immediately. Our hosts, however, quickly brought us to the reality that our experience was simply too far removed from theirs as to presume that we had any real understanding how to help them in any meaningful, sustained way. Of course the aid organization we were there supporting was much closer to the ground, and therefore better placed to assist. But us? Nope.
I tell that story because it occurs to me that the gap between the mega billionaires and us is actually greater than the gap between us and that family in Uganda. At least we were close enough in our shared experience to share sympathy, if not true empathy.

That article is so good. It's also a terrifying further acknowledgement that these people (all of them) exist on a different plane than the populace. The idea that they (or anyone else in the truly-rich elite and those they politically support) have any clue what it's like to be a farmer in Nebraska, a single mother in Virginia, or even a (mere) millionaire doctor in Vermont is farce.
We and they are a different species. We, the people, may as well be an ant-farm sitting on a shelf to them.

The boy is lucky enough to have been invited with his friends family to Deer Valley Thursday. Looks like weather may be in the 40's and sunny. Personally I'd prefer it a little colder, but 1) Who cares, I'm not going; and 2) The kid has only ever skied in MN so anything will be a vast improvement over the ice he's used to.

So we find ourselves in a situation where the President has an army of morons who will do whatever he says. Then after they do whatever, he just pardons them. And he himself is now free to commit crimes, thanks to the Supreme Court. And he can't be impeached, because those who vote for impeachment will have the mob sicked on them, and rinse and repeat. This is great.
Well he can't pardon State and Local assault convictions, so we're good there.
Unless of course Washington DC gets taken over by the federal government, but why would that happen? ...
furk.

During a miserable outing to Oprah Mills Mall in Nashville at Christmas I was holding my oldest daughter … maybe 5 months old at the time…. On my lap.
Rumble and mortar blast without warning.
Shit everywhere.She’s covered.
My lap is covered.
No extra outfits bc she’s already spit up on them.
imagine being in a mall full of fat sweaty southerners during Christmas, covered in shit, with a literal shitty crying infant, and a wife who is tired, hungry, and newly preggers with #2.
Hell can’t be any worse than that.
Oh yeah? similar story, but on a plane to London with 4 hours left. Add in puke and a fever.

For what it's worth, my dad has 50% disability, and none of it has to due with any combat injury. It's likely Agent Orange in Vietnam and/or exposure to contaminated water in Camp Lejeune in the 1980s (he's actually getting a settlement for the latter in the near future, unless Donald fucks with that as well). He's had various health issues since his 50s, including cancer in 2020.
Same with my dad. Squamous cell carcinoma a few years ago, and is currently being worked up for Parkinson's.
BTW, his job in Nam? Supply Specialist.

White House Claims Elon Musk Isn’t Running DOGE After All
https://www.yahoo.com/news/white-house-insists-musk-isn-112225421.html
QuoteElon Musk is not the head of DOGE, the federal spending task force President Donald Trump charged to take a chainsaw to the bureaucracy by finding $2 trillion in spending cuts, the White House said in a Monday court filing.
In fact, the billionaire Republican benefactor is not a part of it at all, the administration claimed.
This is despite Trump saying three months ago, when he first announced the Department of Government Efficiency during the transition period, that Musk would “lead” it.
The head-scratching revelation was made in a three-page declaration by a White House administrator who said Musk works as a “senior adviser to the president” and has “no actual or formal authority to make government decisions himself.”
“He is not an employee of the U.S. DOGE Service or U.S. DOGE Service Temporary Organization,” reads the sworn statement by White House Office of Administration Director Joshua Fisher. “Mr. Musk is not the U.S. DOGE, Service Administrator.”
The court filing appears to directly contradict Trump’s own words, as he’s repeatedly characterized Musk as the leader of DOGE.
“Elon is doing a great job. He’s finding tremendous fraud and corruption and waste,” Trump said on Feb. 7. “I’ll tell him to go here or there and he does it.”
Trump added, referring to the DOGE team staffed by Musk loyalists: “He’s got a very capable group of people.”
Three days later, on Feb. 10, Trump explained in an interview with Fox News how he was going to send Musk from department to department leading DOGE’s efforts to find spending cuts.

Don't worry, the firefighters aren't affected (yet), just the thousands of staff who work to prevent fires.
It'll be fine.
For clarity, This is the National Forest Service, which is far more relevant to me where I live and visit.

Anyways, this guy's father failed him.
Sure. But the gif is a 1993 movie about the summer of 1962.
Also a little ironic, given your soapbox argument, that you said "his father failed him".
