That's big. I didn't think usa hockey had the stones to do it. NHL will probably phase it in over time.

Oof. That's what you get Habba Dabba. Most predictable response of all time.

The little I've read about the show says it starts pretty slow. After the 1st episode I agree, but thought it was good. My only complaint, and it might just be me, is that I am having a really hard time distinguishing between characters. They all look about the same, and the constant headgear they wear makes it even harder.

Just because she's as bad a person as he is doesn't mean she likes him.

Our forefathers' greatest mistake was assuming a certain base level of good faith. Whoops.

This. Heathers is the Gen-X wheelhouse.
Breakfast Club and those John Hughes films seem to be a bit out of the Gen X orbit. Those early 80's movies seem more related to that slightly older unknown group that are too young for boomers and too old for Gen-X.
Born in '75, towards the tail end of Gen X. I've never in my life watched "Heathers", whatever that is. I have, however, watched every John Hughes film ever made, pretty much as they were made (Weird Science was an eye opener at the age of 10).

What about Scream? That'd be Millennials right? That was a big deal- started an entire sub genre.

This is a good take.
I'd also argue that while Gen X is the smallest of the generations in existence today we've got an inordinate number of the "classic" HS-era, coming-of-age films because the 80's was jam-packed with them. It was movie upon movie upon movie. John Hughes was a big part of that.

That suuucks. Hopefully it's back by now. We lost our heat in similar weather for 4 days a few years ago. Luckily we had power though. Our gas fireplace and a few space heaters made it manageable.

Ruby's Two Sad DaughtersIn this land that knows no laughter,
And this land that holds no water,
We were all in love
With Ruby's two sad daughters. One went way out west,
One went way wrong.
One left at seventeen,
And the other couldn't wait that long.
Neither went anywhere with me.
Not to the games or the Dairy Queen.
They split with the first boy who lied sweet
And looked vaguely mean._______________________________________Love at the Five and DimeRita was sixteen years, hazel eyes and chestnut hair
She made the Woolworth counter shine
And Eddie was a sweet romancer, and a darn good dancer
And they'd waltz the aisles of the five and dime -

I'm long since removed from being a resident of Texas, but can't imagine actually having to make contingency plans for the electric to go off for days in a cold snap. Wrapping/covering/dripping pipes, sure. But no electricity? Man, that sucks.

Can you imagine the breaking news aspect had Obama taken 8 million from foreign governments?
I'm not sure because it didn't happen. What do you think? More, or less than wearing a tan suit?

Holy Shit. Let's play "Spot the Rhetorical Fallacies" in this short clip.
I've got:
Hasty Generalization, Equivocation, Red Herring, Scare Tactics (duh, it's Fox), Post Hoc, Strawman, Begging the Question...
How many of the people who believe her crap could define or provide an example of any of these, let alone spot them in real time?
We're doomed.

Infuriating? Get over yourself.
When I posted the tweet, it had only just begun to circulate, and hadn't yet been debunked in any posts or replies that I could find at the time. As I don't have an account on Truth to verify the source, I went with it.
Infuriating... What the fuck ever.
