  1. I moved from TX to Minneapolis in my early 30's and never looked back, but it's definitely not for everyone. Winters can suck for sure, but tbh the weather has been a net gain over Austin for me. You get 4 legit seasons, and the summers are absolutely amazing. You haven't said enough about your likes and dislikes for any of us to really know, but in general the people who tend to like the Twin Cities are outdoors nuts. There are parks, bike paths, and lakes everywhere and- for the hearty among us- plenty of ways to enjoy winter activities (ice fishing, fat biking, nordic skiing, snowshoeing). The sports scene is good (variety if not quality) and the food and beer scene is great. For living, single 30 somethings typically get drawn to the North Loop and Mill District areas, which have absolutely exploded with apartments and condos over the past 10 years.
  2. More from an NBC report: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/f-ing-nightmare-trump-team-damage-control-dines-ye-white-supremacist-n-rcna58780
  3. I love it when fall gets one more chance! The snow and cold over the last couple weeks caught me off guard and I hadn't gotten to the gutters and a big pile of leaves on the patio. The warm weather over the past few days has given me a chance to get off my ass and finish everything that I should have done a month ago.
  4. 1 person uncomfortably. Just as a 2-person tent will hold 2 people uncomfortably, and so on. The reason that it's so frustrating is because we (rightly I think), consider a tent a room, whereas the manufacturers have always sized them as if they were a just a bed. A 2-person tent, for instance, has just about the same square feet as a queen sized bed (35ish).
  5. The method is to pretend it's a ham and honey smoke it.
  6. Prepped with under skin herb butter, thrown on the Weber 26in, and kissed with apple wood.
  7. I just got greeted with "Happy New Year!- that's my Joe Biden joke" Ugh. Hello to you too.
  8. I like this crew. She calls a good game, and the color guy (no racist) chimes in just enough. They seem to be having fun with each other as well.
  9. So I guess we have to beat Iran by more than them?
  10. Yeah, I think Israel is making this one up.

    MUNDIAL XXII

I mean, that's exactly what this is. They're only playing because they're hosting. Usually the Cup goes to countries whose citizens (and athletes) actually care about the game, so they fare better in the matches.
  12. That was my initial thought, but here's the the only statement that address it from the linked article (translated so disjointed, but you'll get the point): "The head of the Intelligence Division in the IDF, Major General Aharon Haliva, said today (Monday) at the INSS conference in a conversation with his predecessor in the post, Tamir Hyman, that Iran is considering "interfering" with the World Cup games in Qatar, and said that "the Iranians are also considering hitting the World Cup in Qatar - and the only thing stopping them is how the Qataris will react." Still vague, but clearly they don't just mean "taking their ball and going home". I still don't see it. No way.
  13. Dammit, I zoned out after the 1st game and forgot to switch channels. It's not that I missed anything, but I was forced to endure 15 seconds of Skip Bayless before figuring it out.
  14. Well they can't be happy about their teams stance (or performance).
  15. Ticketing app issues mean hundreds of fans miss start of England v Iran

...But nobody has gay sex. Right. Suuuuure.
  17. I have. Once. 30 years ago. That was all it took to ensure there was no 2nd time. Steel soap? Gloves? I feel like I've taken crazy pills!
  18. Are you fucking serious? I can pick, peal, and dice an onion in about 15 seconds. Why double the time getting and putting on gloves? Should I wear onion goggles too? Fucking A.
  19. I think that's a reasonable position. Reporters should ideally strive to cover the story, but careful not to become it. I think that's a reasonable position too. Qatar has openly and repeatedly stated that LGBT folks were welcome. To take them at their word and wear a symbol of support (we don't know that he's a member of the LGBT community) shouldn't be assumed to be an intentional provocation.
  20. From the NYT Article: Well isn't that a coincidence... https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/fifa-president-gianni-infantino-has-moved-to-qatar/47267300 I wonder how much he pays in "rent".
  21. Big NY Times article dropped this morning. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/19/sports/soccer/world-cup-qatar-2022.html
