  1. Alright, ya'll owe me. I just watched this hour-long interview from 2020. The entire thing is fascinating(ly horrifying), but here are some things that stood out to me. Blames his opponent at the time of only being motivated by government pensions @ 5:05. (note that a former roommate recently recalled a conversation in which "Anthony" cited lifetime healthcare and pension as a motivation to run for congress.) Waxes poetic about the importance of "Truth" @ 11:20. Talks about his inability to do 2nd grade common core math even though the has an economics degree and works in finance @36:10. Talks about his family- including him Mom's executive position at Citigroup- @ 42:00. I don't even know how to explain it, but just a ridiculous conversation about the 2nd amendment @46:40 Talks about the degradation of the traditional family unit and the importance of the nuclear family @53:18-55:38 I'm not going to lie (hehe), this guy has tons of charisma. But, he is so clearly playing a part and- as this was 2 years ago- he was still perfecting the script. At a couple points in the interview he recognizes that he's made the interviewer bristle a little and he effortlessly qualifies the answer and shifts to a more palatable response.
  2. While I believe that he could very well be someone's useful idiot, does anyone really think this whole thing was conceived and orchestrated by a foreign actor? I don't buy it. It would have been way, way cleaner. I'm willing to be those people exist at high levels of our government, but this clown aint it.
  3. There was a poll about a week ago that said 60% or so of voters polled in his district said he should resign. It's got to be higher now. It's true that they're wealthy, but no one likes to be made a fool.
  4. And now it's back. Again. Weird, but why should we expect anything less.
  5. Great question. I don't think anyone really knows yet. Here's an article that gives a little more info on it. https://www.mediaite.com/weird/george-santoss-official-congressional-twitter-account-mysteriously-suspended/
  6. That is 100%, no doubt, him by the way. Just look at the crease on the left side of his chin (right side on the pictures). Exactly the same.
  7. No mention here though of his battle with brain cancer. (One of his more obscure claims- he probably doesn't know it's out there.)
  8. Appears to be an AMC series, not Prime. Amazon is just teasing the 1st episode free. Does look good though.
  9. Man, I haven't thought about Harry Knowles in years.
  10. Shamelessness is truly a super power. Not the good kind though. The shady kind like invisibility or x-ray vision.

  12. Exactly. Critics reviews can give you a better sense but user reviews are completely unreliable for projects like this.
  13. Glad this has its own thread. Quoting again my favorite bit from the article about the guy who's pushing this narrative:
  14. Yeah, I think so. There was a recent article in the Intelligencer entitled "Here's every Lie Told by George Santos". They actually missed a few (brain cancer survivor, one of the 1st Covid patients in the US), but they noted that his citizenship as about the only thing he's said that is true. They didn't show their work, but I take it to mean it's been verified.
  15. The Texas Tribune dropped a good story on it too. https://www.texastribune.org/2023/01/13/constitutional-sheriffs-texas/ This topic could fit in bunch of different threads but honestly probably deserves it's own. I can't even believe it- maybe i've just been away too long.
  16. There are no fewer than 5 current investigations of George Santos right now. They're all distinct but overlapping, and every single one of them revolves around good old fashioned fraud. To your specific angle though, I think that would most closely fall under Nassau County's existing criminal investigation: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/28/nyregion/george-santos-long-island-investigation.html
  17. https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2023/01/in-brazilian-media-even-more-reports-of-george-santos-lies/
  18. I think he'll be arrested in a matter of months, not years. You've got the DOJ, FEC, Brazil, and several local jurisdictions investigating it at once. And to add to that, you've got the Washington Post and New York Times fighting over this story at level reminiscent of their Watergate rivalry. This guy is not that sophisticated. He made major mistakes, and it's all under a very thin veneer.
  19. YOU weren't elected by anyone! The 100% fabricated character you created out of thin air was.
  20. George Santos is not his preferred name. Anthony is his middle, and Devolder is his mother's maiden name. Reportedly he has gone by this moniker for most of his life.
  21. Oh he's very much going in the opposite direction.
