  1. George lashed out today against fellow New York congressman Ritchie Torres, who faced some angry constituents at a recent Town Hall meeting. OK, but this was yesterday... https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/george-santos-office-protest-congress-b2283131.html
  2. Meh, that one's a stretch for me. She was at that time a model, being interviewed by a style magazine, talking about posing for pictures. Getting in to character IS super important.
  3. This new batch of politicians reminds me of aspiring WWE wrestlers. It doesn't really matter who you really are or where you came from. Pick a persona that you think will resonate, choose heel or hero, settle in on some tag lines and one liners for the camera, and generate as much attention as you can early(good or bad).
  4. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-red-light-district/202110/10-facts-about-pathological-lying#:~:text=Pathological lying lacks classification per,(i.e.%2C factitious disorder).
  5. John Stewart says in the clip just a few posts up that shameless people can do the most shameful things. And I'm on record that shamelessness is an evil superpower on par with invisibility and x-ray vision.
  6. It was Mormon-ish.
  7. He said "you don't belong here".
  8. I'm mostly with you there. There's one possible exception though who the NYT discussed in a recent article about his office back in Long Island. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/30/nyregion/george-santos-district-office.html Sure, everyone on Santos' staff is going to use some version of this line. But this dude is is retirement age, at the local office (not Washington), and has ton of experience in the position. Hopefully through him the people of Long Island gave at least one dependable person in the district.
  9. I like this one: This is 2019. He had settled on his grift but hadn't fully developed his character yet- here he's just a trendy(ish) gay kid from Queens. He also didn't really understand government speak yet, as he clumsily demanded payment from the Democrats' "congressional, and Senators, and whatever salaries they get."
  10. He means that there are older, authentic tweets from Santos that say same or similar things. For instance there's one of his from 2 years ago in which he calls Biden a pathological liar.
  11. This person had a press pass.
  12. There are 19 pages of speculation. Get to work.
  13. OK. It took me 3 attempts (and not because it's long) but I made it through his OAN interview. https://www.oann.com/video/oan-contribution/oan-exclusive-caitlin-sinclair-sits-down-with-rep-george-santos/ This guy is something else. The level of victimhood, masked as accountability, here is truly remarkable.
  14. Mother Jones with a small follow up to there big story last week: https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2023/02/george-santos-campaign-funds-donors-scandal/ On another note, word is that the reason Santos was pressured off his committees is that the Republicans intend to push Ilan Omar off of hers, but they know that the already slim chance of success will be virtually impossible if George is still sitting on committees.
  15. That reminds me of a great article a while back.. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/17/style/george-santos-style.html
  16. She's active on twitter but no mention of Mr Devolver (err... Santos) Cap Hill Comms Director huh? So she's desperate/depraved enough to work for him but at least she has the good sense not to brag about it. I have to think his entire staff is like this. They'll wallow in the shit, but I'm sure they all have their explanations at the ready when the inevitable happens.
  17. Sunday morning catch up... There's no real hard hitting news since Mother Jones delivered the bomb earlier in the week, but here's a smattering of absurdaties: https://www.politico.com/news/2023/01/27/where-santos-really-stands-in-the-house-gop-00079755 https://www.foxnews.com/politics/george-santos-delivers-speech-holocaust-remembrance-lying-jewish-heritage He tweeted his actual speech, and others have reported on the irony/trollishness of it. But it's interesting to see in on Fox, as this is one they could have completely ignored. https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/george-santos-sing-karaoke-app-smule-1234669746/ Anyone want to hear our buddy bust out "Let it Go"? There are a few examples of George's work in the link if you dare.
  18. We actually don't know that. In his amended filing last week- fraudulently submitted under the name of a *new* treasurer who denies taking the job- he unchecked the box that previously indicated that those funds were from him personally.
  19. Doesn't article say he's got more 199.99 documentations than everyone else combined? I'd like to hear from someone in the know as well, but I don't think it's like the typical reimbursement or company card limits that us common folk deal with,-in which we document for as much as we can get when we go over.
  20. Ugh. I don't really want to get into it again, but look it up. The suicide rate, particularly for narcissists, is higher not lower.
  21. That's the cliffs notes version of it. See the ABC story that the above article links for the real meat of it. BTW, the filing in question just so happens to be the one in which Santos says nevermind to the hundreds of thousands of dollars that he reportedly loaned his campaign.
