That's the reason. But the "cause" will be the alleged mismanagement of the ongoing Fed building renovations.

Ideas for Long Weekend Trip
I suggest you go somewhere that intrigues you. Drive or fly (you didn't specify travel method) to a beach location that is reasonable, but one you have never been to. Or, go to one that you've been to and enjoyed. There. I've officially spent as much effort on the answer as you did on the question.

God musta been really pissed at that firefighter supporter in attendance. I'm guessing there was a good purpose for him leaving a widow and kids.

Seems like a good day for this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fC6ykRiQcvA&list=RDfC6ykRiQcvA&start_radio=1- TRAVEL: Points, Miles, Discounts, Tips, Advice & Questions
I agree. Points programs are good. To be clear though, you replied to a quote of a quote of a quote of a quote. I was specifically referring to the degradation of the Marriott Bonvoy program since their merger with Starwood, and the apparent shift in focus from the casual retail card user to the high end business consumer; by way of a change to dynamic pricing instead of fixed redemption. Sure, If you travel for work 200 days a year and want to splurge on a suite In Monaco for a week, Marriott is going to upgrade you to an even better one. If you're a regular Joe with a Chase Bonvoy Visa and need to travel to Spokane for cousin Jenny's wedding, you can expect to lay down 55,000 points for two nights in a Fairfield Inn that would otherwise cast you $250. It's not my opinion. It's what's happening. https://thepointsguy.com/news/marriott-valuation-analysis/- TRAVEL: Points, Miles, Discounts, Tips, Advice & Questions
LOL. $700 for a night at a hotel would be the most I ever paid by about $200. You and I are just on different tiers I guess. I need my points to be functional- and for my tier they are not. I don't have the liberty to save them for the big score. I also don't accrue points through work and don't travel much generally, so I ain't ever getting over 200k. Sucks to be poor I guess.- Wordle [spoilers inevitable but discouraged]

I've been Marriott for a long time, but the points program is shit now. I just planned a vacation in the Keys for the end of July. At one Marriott property, I noticed that they wanted 50000 points for a room that could be booked for $139 per night. As for the higher end, there is a property for $313 per night that'll cost you 77500 in points. Between the two that .27 cents and .40 per point respectively. I used to get .9 regularly but haven't seen anything even approaching that in over a year. For shits and giggles I just went back to both properties and checked the rates for 6 months out and it's still nowhere close to what the points used to be worth. And it's not just fancy locations. I'm redeeming 35000 points per night this weekend for a random Fairfield Inn room in Duluth. It's really unfortunate because I love the properties, but the reality is that the points program sucks now.- 3-2-1 Ribs
TLDW- Cook them til they're done and then foil wrap them meat side down in a gallon of watered down sweet BBQ sauce to rest for an hour.- Outdoor Grills
Fair. But in that case, go to Market Place and buy a barely used Smokey Joe for $20. It's full of them.- Outdoor Grills
There's no reason to avoid the Smokey Joe. If you're willing to pay a little more though and have the space, I'd suggest upgrading to an 18 inch over the 14. It'll make a big difference. In that space I'd go with either the Jumbo Joe: $90 Or the SnS Travel Kettle: $160- Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran.

I don't know if it will be accepted as such, but the attack on Qatar was a clear attempt by Iran to de-escalate.- Trump’s America
I looked up Paragon. It's business has fuck-all to do with what it has obviously re-tasked to do by the parent company-which also happens to be linked to at least one immigrant detention center in El Paso. The parent company, by the way, is one of the Alaska Native Corporations which were established in 1971 when the United States Congress passed the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) which settled land and financial claims made by the Alaska Natives and provided for the establishment of 13 regional corporations to administer those claims. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alaska_Native_corporation There are several regional corporations that are part of this and, interestingly, Bering Straits Native Corporation is not the only one in the migrant detention game. Notably, a subsidiary of a contractor called Akima, which is itself a subsidiary of another regional corporation called the Northwest Alaska Native Association (NANA) was revealed as the contractor running the Guantánamo migrant jail. Here's part of an interview with the reporter who broke that story. That's just what I scraped together in 20 minutes. I think there's a lot more to this story. It'd be the perfect piece for 60 Minutes to get into if they weren't neutered- Although Biden has some responsibility here too, so maybe. It's also not lost on me that this, in essence, a story about conquering Americans paying actual Americans to detain aspiring Americans. There's a perverse irony to it all.- Israel vs everyone war thread

Traditional terrorist attacks may happen, but I think they're going to hit us with cyber-attacks, particularly infrastructure. Luckily, we have the Federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), which works tirelessly to ensure that our critical infrastructure is protected.
