    Vinyl

they ended up refunding the order but still sending the records. apparently a lot of people were pissed that they ordered during black friday and didn't get the order by christmas.
  2. Greg Rolie- santana, journey
  3. My cousin sent me these...not sure if this was 88 or 89. I remember being so excited about standing on the field...took home a handful of the crushed brick from the warning track. Also remember thinking the players were HUGE. Got a few autographs and got to run the bases. Ruben Sierra, Cecil Espy, Scott Fletcher, Bobby Witt, Jim Sundberg.
  4. learned recently that in the catalonia region they have an interesting addition to their nativity scene...a bare assed man pooping. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caganer
  5. didn't know there was a musk involved, but the kitchen in Boulder is really good. try to go there any time i'm in town.
  6. incredible, wish there were more pictures. good to know that even in 1976 people thought aerosmith sucked.
  7. this whole album is dirty and i feel like it's really overlooked. love this song...was also on the dusk til dawn sountrack.

    Vinyl

the blue note vinyl i ordered during their sale on november 21 still hasn't shipped. fuckers.
  9. 1. QOTSA- In Times New Roman. A return to form after their last album that was somewhat disappointing. Took a few listens to sink in but it's very good. 2. Night Beats- Rajan. Back to their roots with some excellent psych rock. 3. Death Valley Girls- Islands in the Sky. Garage rock/psych. 4. Nude Party- Ride On. A little more mellow but still has the same 60's psych/garage sound happening. 5. Rodeo Boys- Home Movies. 90's throwback guitar rock. 6. Dropper- Don't Talk to Me. Power pop/rock 7. Crosses- Good Night, God Bless, I Love U, Delete. Deftones' dark wave cousin. 8. Ghost Woman- Hindsight is 50/50. Brooding psych rock. Heavier and darker than their previous releases. 9. Oh Sees-Intercepted Message. Catchy synth punk. 10. Yasawa Group- Enter the Chrysalis. Shiny indie guitar pop.
  10. saw attic ted's christmas opera "mary's little secret" last night. my favorite austin christmas tradition. mary's secret is that she cheated on joseph and made up the whole virgin birth thing. it's always entertaining watching people slowly realize what's going on and becoming increasingly offended.
  11. man, i saw them at the french legation museum during sxsw in...2013? they were definitely in high school and had no idea what they were doing, but weren't bad.
  12. it's avril lavigne for the current generation, with slightly better songwriting...maybe.
  13. sounds like deftones
  14. just picture a stage in the middle of a holiday market and that's the vibe. they do sell alcohol and the majority of people are not there for the music.
  15. That was a monster setlist. I was standing right next to the "first it giveth" guy. Fucking Mexicola too! Holy hell that was good. Spiritualized was pretty low energy but I enjoyed it, qotsa was just on another level entirely. Homme seemed like he was loving it. Glad we got a song for the dead closer, they didn't play it when I saw them a couple months ago...Jon Theodore is an absolute beast. Shit, the whole band was impressive. Might have been the best concert of the year for me.
  16. reeeeaaaally fucking excited about qotsa and spiritualized tonight. qotsa has been extremely tight this tour.

    Texas BBQ

yep, they showed the process on their instagram stories. looks like it's smoked, chilled, then fried. the breading had a nice crunch and then you got the good smoky flavor at the end. definitely a once a year type of meal.

    Texas BBQ

Last night was the chicken fried beef rib at stiles switch. Decadent and glorious.
  19. my problem with this season is that i don't have anyone to root against, and also don't care who wins. these people are boring.
  20. any brewery named after diarrhea deserves to go out of business.
  21. haymaker is another option
  22. don't forget your beret
  23. saw the rodeo boys last night. discovered them last sxsw and thought they were excellent. definitely a 90's throwback guitar rock sound with some great bass lines. they played at 6:30pm opening for a bunch of shitty pop punk bands but there was a decent crowd there, hopefully they gained some fans. said they'll be back for sxsw this year.
