  1. Camped at Colorado Bend last weekend. Love the trails at that park. River was browner than normal from the rain, but everything else was green and plenty of wildflowers still blooming. The pit toilet situation was terrible, someone literally took a shit on the floor of the bathroom closest to our campsite, wtf.
  2. Saw this one in Big Bend NP. Patchnose I think?
  3. all them witches tonight at antone's. i know a dude in the hold steady and i wish i could like them, but not my cup of tea.

Went to the equipment room in austin. Markets itself as a listening room with a very expensive hifi setup. Turns out it's not a listening room at all, just a pretentious bar with an $18 cocktail list and the worst beer selection in the city. They act like they want people to be quiet and listen to music but it was loud as fuck in there with people talking. Cool to look at all their expensive gear but hard pass on going back.
  5. they were actively hiring when we were in town a couple weeks ago. locals seemed to think it would be open before the end of the month.
  6. close, window overlook in big bend.
  7. I too enjoy a scenic beer.

levitation fucked up and sent out the new night beats album 2 months early. i was surprised when i received it in the mail, then they sent this email. lol, sure thing. Due to an error at our fulfillment warehouse, your order of NIGHT BEATS - RAJAN shipped early, ahead of its July 14, 2023 release. Our apologies for this mistake. On behalf of the artist we ask that you: - do not open the record until the release date, in order to preserve the record release experience for everyone - do not post about the record on social media until the release date (and delete anything already posted) Generally what we’re asking you is : Can you keep a secret? Let’s keep this record under wraps together until the release date Thank you for your understanding and for your order.
  10. clockwise, also because of knees.
  11. i will say the 2nd half of the south rim hike was hot as fuck, so be prepared. very little shade and even mid 80's feels quite intense up there. we completed the loop in about 6 hours and i drank every bit of the 4 liters of water i took with me.
  12. They were burning off river cane so it was hazy the whole time. 1. Lost mine trail 2. South rim 3. Sunset from the window 4. Santa Elena canyon 5. Fern canyon 6. Pinto canyon road 7. Pool at Chinati Hot Springs
  13. spent 5 nights camped in the basin last week. i generally prefer the backcountry sites but i knew the weather in the basin would be more favorable for camping this time of year. it was hot as hell in the afternoons but the nights and mornings felt great. did several hikes i hadn't done in a long time including the lost mine and south rim. did a couple short desert hikes one morning then spent the aftenoon swimming in santa elena canyon. did a boomerang trip up santa elena to fern canyon one day...wow that place is really amazing. finally made it down pinto canyon road to the chinati hot springs for 2 nights as well and that was super relaxing. excellent trip, will post a few pics later...

i haven't been in several years but it used to be really good. lots of bargains and i always had to set a budget for the day because there was tons of shit i wanted.
  15. the nude party at scoot inn. it was an entire crowd of the people who stand in the back at stubb's. every motherfucker there was talking through the entire show. exacerbating the situation, the music was not nearly loud enough...the conversations that normally get drowned out by the music were, unfortunately, all too audible. had to get very close to the front before i felt like i was actually at a concert. they sounded good but i didn't care too much for the setlist, felt like every time they got a little bit of energy going they followed it up with a slow song. they picked up some steam towards the end and finished strong, could have used a few more songs though.
  16. they would've done better had they chosen a weekend that wasn't psych fest and eeyore's birthday.
  17. Psych fest was killer. Night Beats were the standout for me but all the bands were good. The venue was woefully under prepared for a festival. Bathroom lines were absurd, 30+ mins. It was faster to leave the venue and walk across the street to torchys, which I did multiple times. Only 2 food trucks and each had a massive wait. 2 coolers of water that were empty every time I tried them. Excellent lineup of bands though.
  18. it's a ticket exchange run by ticketmaster where they don't allow the ticket to be marked up from face value.
  19. a place to bury strangers last night at mohawk. they always put on a hell of a show. strobe lights, smoke, and a shitload of noise. very enthusiastic crowd, clearly excited for psych fest this weekend.
  20. $167 a ticket
  21. Couldn't disagree more, terrible place to see a rock show. tiny seats/aisles, awful bar setup, not enough bathrooms, uptight old lady ushers roaming the aisles, not conducive at all to standing up during the show. for the most part i actively avoid shows at the paramount and bass.
  22. not doing the first ft worth show, but i also went 3/3 with ten club. all reserved seats but whatever.
  23. Went to batch last night. Everything I had was miles better than anything I'd had there before. The Polsch collab with live oak was excellent. No pink peppercorn seaweed stouts in sight.
  24. they haven't gone on sale yet, even through ten club.
