find an artist you like who will be at sxsw and see what label they're on, check out the other bands on that label. the label will have a free day show somewhere and you'll probably like some of the other bands.
stopped by roughhouse brewing outside of san marcos on sunday. nice facility and grounds, kind of like a mini jester king. saisons stood out, everything else was average to good. definitely worth a stop.
rarely hear any mention of the beta band. they put out some great music that was a unique blend of psych-folk/trip hop. was fortunate enough to see them at la zona rosa before they broke up, this album still gets a lot of play:
i have spent all afternoon listening to dio era sabbath in search of any evidence to support the claim that it's better than the ozzy era. that evidence could not be found.
Hiked down through smugglers canyon from river road to the rio grande and surprised 2 bears at the river. They hauled ass as soon as they saw us. Wasn't expecting to see any bears in that part of the park. In my 20 years of visiting that's the first time I've seen a bear, pretty cool.
alphabetically by genre is definitely easier if you've got 500 recods. i've got a bunch of genres that only make sense to me but that's all that really matters.
thanks, pretty much aligns with what i've been told. yep, viagra boys...i'll be in town anyway so i may just give it a go. still pissed they cancelled their set at levitation.
is the roseland theater really as terrible as i've been told? contemplating going to a concert there in march but i've been strongly advised against it by multiple people.
Saw golden dawn arkestra at the paramount on Saturday. They had dancers and aerialists and a whole big show. Not sure about the floor, but the balcony was maybe 1/4 full and was an all out drug fueled dance party. Good times.
