    Pink Floyd

    put your phone away.
  2. she apparently had no idea how to actually play the instrument. they told her what keys to press for all the songs and she memorized that. it quickly became clear that would not be a viable solution going forward.
  3. Iove Neil young but releasing everything through that incredibly shitty archives website is stupid, and a very Neil young thing to do. There have been several releases that i've been interested in but never heard because...archives.
  4. Maple and Ziggy are loving the snow, constantly wanting to go outside.
  5. i feel sorry for every one of you motherfuckers who can't appreciate the greatness that is ghost.

    Vinyl

Had no idea those beatles mono reissues were worth anything, bought all those when they came out. There's an Austin band that put out 1 record several years ago then broke up, shapes have fangs, last I checked it was selling for over $100. Also saw recently that the growlers city club is selling for $200. No telling what else I have that has become worth something over the years. I'm likely never going to sell any of these so it's not something I usually pay attention to.
  7. that was about the least rock n roll smashing of a guitar i've ever seen.

    Vinyl

about 1500 hours of play seems to be the average time they last before starting to show signs of degradation.
  9. i like the curved tone arm on that rega, i've only seen them with the straight arm...for whatever reason the straight arm has always bothered me on any turntable.
  10. was surprised to see that red rocks has a full concert lineup for the summer.
  11. i've got the sa9100 and matching tuner. had it recapped a few years ago at austin stereo, sounds amazing.

it's about time we get another immersion box set. animals or meddle would be perfect.
  15. there are definitely some good songs on indigo meadow...but it's also their only album that has songs i flat out don't like.
  16. First time i saw them was with dead meadow at SXSW in 2005 I think, was blown away. At this point I don't think there's another band i've seen live more times. The first psych fest was in a barn on burnet rd and there were only about 200 people there. Seeing them at red rocks open for robert plant I think is my favorite. They've got a couple good ep's as well...clear lake forest and phosgene nightmare are both worth listening to.
  17. passover is generally considered their best album.
  18. also alex maas's solo album from last year is quite good, but way more mellow than the black angels.
  19. they should have a new album out this year. that's kind of shocking to hear indigo meadow is anyone's favorite, it's my least favorite by a long shot.
  20. dead fans seem to be the only people who hate that album. i never gave it a listen based on all the badmouthing by dead fans...picked it up on vinyl a few years ago for cheap and it's actually not bad at all.
  21. tangentially related...watched the studio 54 documentary on prime this week, pretty interesting. gave a good explanation of why there was such a disco backlash.
  22. Found in a box of ticket stubs.
