  1. They sold back most of their Austin space to the landlord...so even if they had the money to move the equipment back, there's nowhere for it to go. They're trying to sell the SM facility to another brewery in hopes of keeping the business afloat.
  2. no one discovers new music via the PA at a concert. beatles was a solid choice.
  3. h&g moved all of their brewing equipment from east austin to san marcos, then there were major infrastructure problems in san marcos and they couldn't brew any beer there for about 7 months. that's why there hasn't been anything on the shelves...they're operating solely on their 5 barrel system in east austin. not sure they can recover from the lost revenue.
  4. very interested to see how many people show up. most of the day shows i had on my list to see are still happening.
  5. pearl jam postponed their tour. fuck, was supposed to see them in phoenix next month.
  6. mike campbell sings lead on a song off the echo album and I always thought it was remarkable how much he sounds like petty.
  7. that sounded interesting until I read they're playing a Rush album. good to see the sword touring again though.
  8. why would anyone always never buy name brand drugs ever?
  9. it's amazing the degree to which tame impala in no way resembles the band that put out innerspeaker in 2010. not into these last couple of albums at all.
  10. my ticket stub collection has been seriously impacted by digital tickets. i used to enjoy looking back at the end of the year at all the concerts i attended. oh well.
  11. that's where i disagree. they've rotated members in and out of the band since the beginning. i personally preferred the marc ford/eddie harsch era...but they didn't cease to be the black crowes when those members left. chris and rich wrote all the songs, they are the band. they get to decide who the other members are. it sucks for steve gorman but tough shit, sorry these assholes fucked you over.
  12. will be out of town or i would have tried for sure. also planning on seeing them at COTA this summer. it's a strange distinction to be willing to see the brothers as a duo but morally opposed to seeing a black crowes tour. either way they're the same assholes playing the same songs and you're still supporting them regardless of who is or isn't playing with them.
  13. guesses on ticket prices? think i remember the zilker show was about $100 for general admission. might as well camp out at COTA for the night after the concert. that place will be a complete clusterfuck.
  14. McLovin at a donkeys rooftop concert during sxsw . todd from breaking bad at a night beats show at barracuda shia labeouf at a warpaint show at emo's. vinnie paul at a godsmack show at the bronco bowl. brett hull at a soundgarden show in dallas @ verizon troy aikman at a tom petty show in dallas @ aac i'm certain there are more but that's all i can think of at the moment.
  15. Robb Walsh method on a 10 lb shoulder yesterday. It was excellent.

    Pink Floyd

he still wasn't a full time member when the album was recorded, it was basically a gilmour solo project. nick mason didn't contribute much either. this was during the time period when waters was trying to sue the rest of the band for the pink floyd name...which i suspect had something to do with wright not being a full time member yet.

    Pink Floyd

i don't understand your confusion. when waters left, wright became a member of the band again...which includes all of those albums you listed.

    Pink Floyd

it's because he's dead. he wasn't writing any songs so waters got pissed and kicked him out of the band. he was hired as a session musician for the wall tour and joined the band again after waters left.

    Sparta

the good news is that it can't be any worse than their last album.
  20. definitely has a talking heads vibe. i like it.
  21. Scorsese and robbie were roommates and friends, I expect this will not be an unbiased account. Fuck robbie Robertson.
  22. Frankie and the Witch Fingers- Zam. High energy psychedelic garage rock. If you like The Oh Sees you should love this band. Favorite Track- Dracula Drug https://youtu.be/cSKXH24xQ5A King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard- Infest the Rats' Nest. They made a thrash metal album and it's fucking great. Very technical and prog metal at times. Favorite track: Self Immolate https://youtu.be/aHGI749-OLA The Well- Death and Consolation. Stoner metal, Sabbath riffs, great album. Favorite Track: Eyes of a God https://youtu.be/rsJoRbPoSow Steve Gunn- The Unseen In Between. Mellow modern folk, similar to Kurt Vile. Excellent guitar playing and great melodies. Album has the open atmospheric feel of a road trip. Favorite Track: Vagabond https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6-dwxvTQd0 The Growlers- Natural Affair. Continuing to progress their sound, this album is a mix of pop/funk often with a disco or reggae beat. Some solid songs and excellent lyrical themes. Favorite Track: Social Man https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlF7LOqp6xY Night Beats- Myth of a Man. Mellow R&B psych record recorded in Nashville with session musicians. A significant change from their last album but it grew on me a lot. Favorite Track: Her Cold Heart https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYXBo2pdpUw&list=RDMYXBo2pdpUw&start_radio=1 Desert Sessions- Vol 11 + 12. Interesting collaborations and sounds. I like this more than the last QOTSA record. Favorite Track: Something You Can't See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8XIOz5E5ug&feature=emb_logo Sturgill Simpson- Sound and Fury. I don't mind the synths at all, feel like these songs are way stronger than anything on the last album. Favorite Track: Make Art Not Friends https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0-mjAB_Mig Mikal Cronin- Seeker. Same power pop as his previous albums but the lyrics and songs are darker with some nice string arrangements. Favorite Track: Show Me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAC9bZjGv-U DIIV- Deceiver. Dark grunge/shoegaze with some good hooks. Favorite Track: Skin Game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAC9bZjGv-U

i like the latest desert sessions album more than the last qotsa album.
  25. this is the same lady who threw a fit about lou's bodega gentrifying the neighborhood and held a protest outside. but apparently as long as she has a stake in it, gentrification is totally cool.
