  1. 1. post vague insider information, wait for people to wonder what the fuck you're talking about. 2. post the link you were dying to post in the first place that contains clear, concise information from 2.5 months ago. 3. link to austin chronicle article announcing big shake up in austin brewing scene. meanwhile everyone continues buying h&g beer at their local heb as if nothing ever happened.
  2. obviously that's what you meant by "flaming out of austin". it's such an obvious term i don't know how else it could be interpreted. yes, they are moving production to san marcos...but hasn't that been known for a while now? i also suspect the brewery will be sold pretty quickly after that facility is up and running.
  3. that's definitely not true. yes, san marcos will be the major production facility because it's huge...but they aren't pulling out of austin.
  4. for seafood, clark's is hard to beat. red ash at 3rd and colorado also has some very good italian style seafood dishes as well as damn good steaks.
  5. David Byrne at Red Rocks was spectacular. Did a good job of making it interesting with a very minimal stage set up. Never seen anything quite like that. He also sounded great and had a ton of energy for a 66 year old.
  6. thought Rioja was excellent for upscale mediterranean. http://www.riojadenver.com/
  7. Been playing around with an old minolta 35mm SLR. Like the way this one turned out.

    Texas BBQ

only had terry black's once but it was the saltiest brisket i've ever had. not in a good way.
  9. trinity brewing is the best thing i've been to in co spgs.
  10. park at city hall or the state garage at 4th and guadalupe. use the side stairwell exits after the show instead of exiting through the main entrance. don't record songs on your phone during the concert like a dumbass.
  11. was there last week, mostly in kings canyon. there was a lot of smoke. there were also a lot of people that got sent there when yosemite was evacuated. even though the park was at capacity, once we got over 500 yards onto any trail we didn't see many people at all. everyone was at the roadside attractions like moro rock and general sherman. the smoke was not cool for good views of the canyon, but it did make for some interesting sunsets.

definitely 70's-90's. there are some worthy modern day pressings but they are the exception rather than the rule.

Mofi is great...and they are all reissues. There's nothing wrong with an original pressing but they aren't inherently better, just depends on the album.

I do not at all understand the need to have original pressings. I say this as someone who owns a lot of vinyl.
  15. you're that guy taking videos of full songs during the concert.
  16. the lid gauge is consistent but not accurate. i've never used an additional probe on the grate, the lid gauge lets me know if the temp is consistent, that's all that matters. if my lid gauge is sitting between 225-250 i've never had a problem.
  17. mitch mitchell is one of my all time favorites. he was a monster on those early hendrix albums.
  18. Donkeys last night at barracuda. Damn good show. New guitarist gave them a little bit of a different sound, lots of space in his playing. Buxton opened. They've got a new album coming out in October.

Love vintage pioneer gear, that thing is pretty ugly though. I've got an sa-9100 and matching tx-9100 tuner that sound great. Have a little marantz 1040 in my 2nd setup that I like quite a bit.
  20. yeah, there are lots of girls at NIN shows. trent is dreamy.
