    Texas BBQ

Went to 2M in San Antonio on Friday. Got there at noon and waited in line for 10 minutes. Serrano Oaxaca sausage was excellent, ribs were very good, brisket was good but not top tier. The beans tasted like homemade ranch style beans rather than charro beans, and the macaroni and cheese with chicharones on top was delicious. They had potato bread instead of white bread, and their sauce they call bbq syrup...and it does have the consistency of syrup, which I did not care for.
  2. went to river city rockfest in san antonio to see nine inch nails. caught a couple other bands as well: bush- they were bush...so not that good. primus- they've been playing their entire new album on this tour, but since they only had an hour time slot they stuck to the old stuff, which was awesome. very good set. they were only able to play half of jerry was a race car driver before they got cut off. stone temple pilots- was like watching stp karaoke. the new guy was trying way too hard to sound exactly like scott weiland and also have the same stage presence. i found him very annoying. nine inch nails- the perfect drug, mr self destruct, happiness in slavery, i'm afraid of americans...very happy with that set. their drummer is a fucking beast. the songs off the new trilogy albums sounded really good live as well. amazing how consistently awesome their live show is.

dish soap, warm water and a cloth works remarkably well.
  4. eraser, would love to see that one. seeing them saturday in san antonio but it's at a festival so i'm thinking there may not be any deep cuts.
  5. van morrison- astral weeks
  6. 35mm using revolog kolor, which appeared to be expired Kodak. Got some pretty wild colors. These are from Colorado:

    Would it be wrong if...

#2 is the reason you want dogs to go apeshit.

    Would it be wrong if...

i disconnected my doorbell. 90% of people ring once and don't knock. also keeps the dogs from going nuts every time a package is delivered.
  9. UTCCHsomething, he doesn't work there anymore.
  10. 1. post vague insider information, wait for people to wonder what the fuck you're talking about. 2. post the link you were dying to post in the first place that contains clear, concise information from 2.5 months ago. 3. link to austin chronicle article announcing big shake up in austin brewing scene. meanwhile everyone continues buying h&g beer at their local heb as if nothing ever happened.
  11. obviously that's what you meant by "flaming out of austin". it's such an obvious term i don't know how else it could be interpreted. yes, they are moving production to san marcos...but hasn't that been known for a while now? i also suspect the brewery will be sold pretty quickly after that facility is up and running.
  12. that's definitely not true. yes, san marcos will be the major production facility because it's huge...but they aren't pulling out of austin.
  13. for seafood, clark's is hard to beat. red ash at 3rd and colorado also has some very good italian style seafood dishes as well as damn good steaks.

  15. Cell phone pics from Colorado...
  16. David Byrne at Red Rocks was spectacular. Did a good job of making it interesting with a very minimal stage set up. Never seen anything quite like that. He also sounded great and had a ton of energy for a 66 year old.

  21. trinity brewing is the best thing i've been to in co spgs.
  22. park at city hall or the state garage at 4th and guadalupe. use the side stairwell exits after the show instead of exiting through the main entrance. don't record songs on your phone during the concert like a dumbass.
  23. Open up please, I have a gift for you.
  24. was there last week, mostly in kings canyon. there was a lot of smoke. there were also a lot of people that got sent there when yosemite was evacuated. even though the park was at capacity, once we got over 500 yards onto any trail we didn't see many people at all. everyone was at the roadside attractions like moro rock and general sherman. the smoke was not cool for good views of the canyon, but it did make for some interesting sunsets.

definitely 70's-90's. there are some worthy modern day pressings but they are the exception rather than the rule.
