yeah, if you stand in the back at stubbs you should know what to expect. have to be in front of the sound booth with the people who are there for the music. have had very few bad experiences up there.
pharmakon at hotel vegas. this woman makes dark weird industrial music and is very aggressive and confrontational with the audience...walking around and screaming in people's faces and rolling around on the floor. it was almost more like performance art than a concert. one of those things i went to more for the spectacle than the music.
honestly those all sound like reasonable decisions. ultimately i find it hard to believe it would have changed their career in any meaningful way had they done it differently.
blk vinyl on east 6th did a 50th anniversary of abbey road concert yesterday at their shop. 4 bands each tackled a couple songs from the album, it was mostly pretty good. free beer didn't hurt.
dakaiju played a free show at empire garage last night. they riffed out and set their shit on fire and it was as entertaining as ever.
unless you're being an asshole they don't care about alcohol. i've talked to park rangers while drinking a can of beer in a koozie multiple times. and if you plan on camping in a state park this fall you should make your reservations now.
haven't been to the cactus cafe in a while. checking out alex maas and chris catalena tonight. the well is also playing at empire control room, which is hard to pass up but i just saw them a couple weeks ago.
god that csny clip is great. they're stoned out of their minds and clearly amused at how ridiculous that situation is. stills does not want to be upstaged.
