  1. good. it is funny that anyone would believe otherwise after decades of evidence. I said that I'd believe it when I see it when a committee moves down a team with 1 loss with a SOS in the 40's or 50's, even with a team that has 3 losses and a top 10 SOS. They can't even do that for a 1 loss difference much less 2. they also don't care about quality wins. The other thing I hope he learned is that there are no bonus points for taking your foot off the gas. if you want to play backups keep throwing, keep blitzing, run up the score when you can. I realize we couldn't do that much this year but there will come a time. the good kids who graduate is over, not embarrassing your coaching counterpart is over, get with the program or get gone.
  2. The coaches probably a) want to work the portal and b) prevent guys they want to keep going to the portal. also, if you are 5-7 do you want to take a chance on losing to Georgia Southern because your best players portal or opt out?
  3. I will say the BCS is better because you have a lot of people on the human side of the equation to minimize one persons bias(Bohls) v 13 people that have ridiculous bias. It is better for breaking ties at the least. what I would do is weight the computers 60% and the humans 40%. I think it was 33/33/33 computers/AP/Coaches.
  4. wait..."Holiday/Alamo Bowl Champions!" doesn't mean anything to you? I remember when half the bowl teams(RC Slocum) could count themselves Champions at the end of the year. It was awesome.
  5. yes, the BCS heavily weighted the loss column as well due to pollsters/humans overweighting the loss column dramatically. it was flawed also. you can look at historical BCS outcomes and it is 95% by loss column especially for P5. humans don't take SOS into account very much at all. in the BCS era the P5 conferences were basically looked at as equal with the SEC getting a boost. G5 was had to be undefeated to even be considered most of the time. the key is to minimize losses however you can as there is no real desire by humans to look at details beyond that.
  6. If I am doing this right, the response is "don't lose to fucking Miami and Carson Beck"
  7. I know plenty about the history of college football. quit posting stupid shit. JESUS. ND can join a conf and schedule Navy every year for one of their 3 OOC if they want. No one cares if they play Navy or not.
  8. holy shit, LOL.
  9. I'm still amazed Charlie Strong beat ND...
  10. you do...see above. Join a conference and beat aggy and you are in. stop scheduling service academies
  11. if it goes to 16, they will demand to be in if they are top 20.
  12. easy -- eye test
  13. I actually feel for Vandy. quality wins don't matter. I'm not sure why they were penalized.
  14. It would be funny if everyone just said fuck notre dame. the TV money for Big ten and SEC and Big 12 isn't going to be affected. only the ACC and NBC is really affected.
  15. no, they didn't want to rank Duke over JMU. I was actually hoping for that for the lulz.
