  1. narrator: they are..
  2. and that's without a fully involved night crew...just wait.
  3. maybe they could make it orange, have it empty for the first game, and then have his family decide what to do with the tickets he had after that.
  4. absolutely, it is the least we could do.
  5. or maybe train pitchers to go more than 1 or 2 innings or your starter to go more than 4 and 1/3.
  6. that IS the epic part. or you could have it end in the 10th with a sac bunt and a sac fly...now that's just great baseball!
  7. huh? that was epic. It's not like it happens very often. only 14 post season games have ever gone to even 14 innings. It is happening more often recently due to more post season games but it is still rare funny stat as a set up, last nights game was 6hr 39min, the 14 inning game in 2004 with Red Sox Yankees ALCS went 5hr 49min in a 5-4 game. thank you pitch clock. the longest post season game for 70 years was 14 innings 1916 between Brooklyn Robins and the Red Sox. game time 2hr and 32min. Babe Ruth went all 14 after giving up 1 in the first he pitched 13 scoreless for the win. 2-1. Ruth also had the RBI for the first Red Sox run to tie it.
  8. I wonder if Uber Eats can get me a McRib. night shift is tough work.
  9. he almost chased the first one. but it didn't matter.
  10. just seeing if he would chase. a wild pitch means you walk him anyway.
  11. this dude is gonna hang one.
  12. somebody needs to do a recap of the organist's playlist after this.
  13. He has officially gone longer than the starter
  14. the Jays have no position players to pitch unless they burn the backup catcher.
  15. this is interesting, when you mainly have relievers that only go 1 inning. there ain't no goose or fingers to go out there and get you 3 or 4 innings if they have to.
  16. stopped serving beer in the 8th
  17. The question is if Ohtani is gonna take second anyway and you aren't throwing down. then you have to walk Betts to set up the force anyway.
  18. yep. can walk him and give up one, knowing they have last ups or groove one and maybe give up 3 or 4.
  19. I kinda wanna see the Jays take this with Ohtani pitching the next game. just amp the tension to 11.
  20. Sandy Fin Koufax.
  21. crazy tension here
  22. I bet if he slides he's out.
  23. but none of that wording says anything about what happens if a catcher is blocking the plate with the ball.
  24. Smoltz asked "if the runner then would be able to run over the catcher" and the booth ump said yes, at that point he can "collide"(not glide) with the catcher. booth ump answer seems to imply you don't have to slide.
