  2. Robert Mueller files request for 150 blank subpoenas in Paul Manafort case Source: The Washington ExaminerSpecial counsel Robert Mueller on Wednesday filed a request for 150 blank subpoenas in the Eastern District of Virginia, where former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort lives. The two-page filing reveals little, but says that that each subpoena recipient must appear in the Alexandria, Va., courthouse on July 25 to testify in the case. Judge T.S. Ellis III has now moved the trial date twice, first from July 10 to July 24, and then from that date to July 25. The 150 blank subpoenas amount to 75 total possible subpoenas — in each case, a subpoena is needed for the witness and another is needed for the defense. Court documents filed in April show that Mueller's team was pushing to subpoena 35 witnesses in the trial. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/robert-mueller-files-request-for-150-blank-subpoenas-in-paul-manafort-case

  5. We subsidize our dairy farmers to the tune of 22 Billion dollars. Canada provides no subsidies to it's dairies. If you want to end those subsidies then yes they are bad and we should end them. That tariff prevents dumping on the Canadian market destroying their own dairy farmers. Obviously the orange turd doesn't understand this simple fact.

Derisively called "rail splitter" because he split railroad ties [for fences] as a youth, Lincoln was uncommonly strong ... [Once, a]s the presidential party lounged on the deck, Lincoln playfully demonstrated that in "muscular power he was one in a thousand," possessing "the strength of a giant." He picked up an ax and "held it at arm's length at the extremity of the [handle] with his thumb and forefinger, continuing to hold it there for a number of minutes. The most powerful sailors on board tried in vain to imitate him." Lincoln also got physical at his first political speech ever at Pappsville, right outside Springfield. A fight broke out in the crowd, and Lincoln saw a friend about to get pummeled. Wrote historian Donald: "Quitting the platform, he strode into the audience, seized the accident by the neck and the seat of his trousers, and, as one witness remembered, threw him twelve feet away." At 6-foot-4 and 214 pounds, he was "strong enough to intimidate any rival." Lincoln was undoubtedly the strongest of all the presidents, and a fearsome wrestler and fighter."
  8. Sally Yates on Trump’s Calls to Investigate FBI: He’s Conducting An ‘All-Out Assault On The Rule of Law’ Former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates had a strong warning about President Donald Trump‘s actions – both prior and recent – regarding the Justice Department. In an interview on Morning Joe Monday, Yates said that by asking the DOJ to investigate whether there was a politically-motivated FBI informant in his campaign, Trump just crossed a new line. “I think what we’re seeing here is the president has taken his all-out assault of the rule of law to a new level and this time he is ordering up an investigation of the investigators who are examining his own campaign. You know, that’s really shocking,” she said. “I know it was just a tweet but he did say something to the effect of, if I recall correctly, ‘I hereby order.’ And we saw the Justice Department respond to that, she added. “I think [Deputy Attorney General] Rod Rosenstein is trying to strike a balance here between defusing the situation and also protecting the rule of law and the institutional integrity of the department.” Yates then cautioned more broadly against becoming inured to the president’s actions and statements which threaten the rule of law. “I think one of the things we have to look out for is the old boiling the frog slowly issue,” she said. “We become accustomed to things that the president does, in directing DOJ. You know, I can remember a time when he would issue a tweet or directive and the reports would be: In an unprecedented act, the president did X or Y.’ It’s not so unprecedented anymore and oftentimes it doesn’t even make it through the full 24-hour news cycle.” https://www.mediaite.com/tv/sally-yates-on-trumps-calls-to-investigate-fbi-hes-conducting-an-all-out-assault-on-the-rule-of-law/
